"Sir," Matthew's voice cut through Gideon's restless thoughts.
Gideon turned, his expression still dark, his gaze lingering in the direction Summer had disappeared.
Matthew followed his line of sight, then continued calmly, unaware of his boss's emotions. "Everyone is waiting for you."
"I saw Summer leaving," Gideon said. "Something feels off. Check on her."
Matthew blinked in mild surprise but nodded at once. "I'll look into it. But you need to attend this meeting."
Gideon stood there, not showing any sign of heading for the meeting. Every instinct urged him to follow her, to make sure she was safe. That familiar, suffocating unease wrapped around his chest, the same feeling he had whenever Summer walked out of his sight.
But this meeting couldn't be brushed aside. It was about his recent collaboration with the Smith Group.
Gideon finally gave a curt nod. "Keep me updated." He strode away.
The moment Summer stepped into the house, the world seemed to freeze.
