Gideon spun just in time. He raised his arm to block the attack, but the blade still sliced through his flesh.
"Hiss—" He sucked in a sharp breath as pain tore through his arm.
Summer gasped at the sight of blood, a strangled cry leaving her throat. Tears streamed down her face. She knew she should run, should take Noel to safety, but her feet wouldn't move. She could only stand there, staring at Gideon in terror and helplessness.
Both men regrouped and rushed at him together. Gideon met them head-on, countering and dodging their attacks as the fight erupted again.
Summer knew he couldn't hold out much longer on his own. The thought that he could die chilled her blood.
She needed help, fast.
"My phone…" She dashed back to where she had dropped it and spotted it lying on the ground beside a car. Snatching it up, she hurriedly dialed the police.
"H-hello. We need help. Two men attacked us. Please come immediately to Imperial Paradise."
