While Arcane was busy with his students on a school trip, Julian stayed at home with Luna, playing with her and distracting her so she wouldn't feel sad because her father was away.
As usual, he invited his adopted daughter to play, doing activities together such as drawing and playing hide and seek. Sometimes Luna also played with Amanda, Clara's daughter whom Julian had taken care of for three days.
They were only one year apart in age, so Luna didn't feel afraid or inferior around Amanda. Moreover, they were both girls, which made it easy for them to become close through playing the same games.
On the same afternoon that Arcane was climbing the hill, Julian was accompanying Luna as she watched her favorite cartoon while eating caramel pudding that Julian had bought at the minimarket.
"How about it? Do you want another pudding or would you like to eat a snack instead?" he asked, spoiling the girl.
"I just want to watch cartoons! Papa can start making lunch as usual."
