Chapter 32 - How Could You?
By the time Idalia returned to the room, the box was now under her bed. She had half-expected Rosabel to take it, but she had not.
Rosabel did not speak to her, but when it was time for the routine check of her injuries, Rosabel took care of her. And in return, not that she was stronger, Idalia took a look at Rosabel's bruise and did what she could.
They didn't speak to each other that night. Arik woke up between intervals and she breastfed and took care of him.
The night rolled into daylight and now they were only two days to the party.
The silence in the room dragged on for a while, they tried to be polite to each other but it was obvious that Rosabel believed that she was acting stupidly by turning down the invite. But what did Rosabel know, she was only looking out for herself and as a mother, Idalia was looking out for her son.
Idalia was not mad at Rosabel though, she couldn't find it in herself to be. Everyone had their focus.
