Three weeks into school life, Guo Feiyu had gradually adapted. Li Siyuan hadn't bothered him during this time, and Han Wei and Lü Xiaofei had become his best friends at school. Feeling bored, Guo Feiyu said a quick word to Zhang Ya and left the classroom. Gazing at the youthful, energetic faces filling the campus, he let out a soft sigh.
The bell rang, marking the end of the short ten-minute break. Watching students hurry back to their classrooms, Guo Feiyu smiled wryly to himself and headed towards the sports field.
He walked alone across the vast, empty playground, appearing solitary and somewhat forlorn. Soon, over a dozen men in black suits and sunglasses approached him, greeting in unison, "Young Master!"
"Zhang Qiang, walk with me. It's dull being alone," Guo Feiyu said flatly.
"Yes, Young Master. You seem... preoccupied today, Young Master?" Zhang Qiang asked quietly from behind him.
Guo Feiyu didn't answer, continuing forward silently. Zhang Qiang followed just as quietly.
"Are you accustomed to being away from the unit and following me?" Guo Feiyu asked.
"The superiors must have had their reasons for assigning us to you, Young Master. But I must admit, I'm still somewhat unaccustomed to this... idle lifestyle," Zhang Qiang replied softly.
Guo Feiyu turned and patted Zhang Qiang's shoulder, a bitter smile on his face. "Do you think I'm accustomed to it? I don't want to waste this one year. How many years like this does a person have?"
"Young Master... are you thinking of accomplishing something during this final year of high school?" Zhang Qiang asked, puzzled.
"A man should live a life of passion and vigor, regardless of success or failure," Guo Feiyu said, looking at Zhang Qiang with determined eyes.
His words sent a surge of excitement through Zhang Qiang. He looked at Guo Feiyu with burning intensity. "I will definitely follow you, Young Master, to achieve great things."
Guo Feiyu looked at Zhang Qiang and nodded. "Starting tomorrow, I will make the world gradually take notice of me."
"Boss, how about we go to 'Brilliance' for karaoke this Sunday?" Han Wei asked with a sly grin.
"Sure, no problem. I was actually thinking of going there myself," Guo Feiyu readily agreed.
Zhang Ya glanced at Guo Feiyu and asked softly, "Can I come too?"
"How could your husband forget you?" Guo Feiyu said tenderly.
On Saturday evening, when Guo Feiyu picked up Zhang Ya and arrived at the entrance of Brilliance, Han Wei and Lü Xiaofei were already waiting. Guo Feiyu walked over, clapped Lü Xiaofei on the shoulder, and led Zhang Ya inside. Seeing it was the boss they had mooched off countless times, Han Wei and Lü Xiaofei immediately put on wide smiles and followed closely.
Brilliance was the largest business club in H City, boasting luxurious decor, top-tier service, and staggeringly high prices. Its clientele consisted solely of the wealthy and powerful. As soon as Guo Feiyu's group entered, a hostess in a qipao approached with a smile. "Welcome to Brilliance."
"I want your largest, most luxurious private room. And bring us a few bottles of your most expensive red wine," Han Wei announced loudly, as if ensuring everyone nearby heard him.
"Right this way, please," the hostess said politely.
Han Wei and Lü Xiaofei watched the hostess's retreating figure, swallowing hard before quickly following, inadvertently pushing Guo Feiyu and Zhang Ya behind them. Guo Feiyu shook his head helplessly, put his arm around Zhang Ya, and followed the two.
Upon entering the room, Han Wei and Lü Xiaofei couldn't stop marveling. In this over-200-square-meter room decorated like a palace, they touched and looked at everything, resembling country bumpkins visiting a grand estate for the first time. Guo Feiyu led Zhang Ya to the sofa, leaned close to her ear, and whispered, "Ya'er, what do you think of a place like this?"
"Feiyu, I'll love any place you take me," Zhang Ya replied softly.
Touched, Guo Feiyu reached out and wrapped his arm around Zhang Ya's slender waist. She rested her head on his shoulder.
"Who dares to occupy my Presidential Suite? Quite the nerve," an extremely arrogant voice sounded from outside the room.
Guo Feiyu looked up towards the door just as it swung open. A greasy, well-groomed fat man walked in, followed by four bodyguards. The fat man brazenly sat on the sofa opposite Guo Feiyu, his four bodyguards taking positions on either side. Spotting Zhang Ya in Guo Feiyu's embrace, the fat man's eyes lit up like a predator's, roaming incessantly over her chest and legs. Zhang Ya shifted her body, pressing closer to Guo Feiyu, glared at the fat man, and spat out, "Pervert!"
The fat man leered. "I am a pervert. Do you like it? Keep me company tonight, and I'll give you five hundred thousand."
Guo Feiyu remained silent, picked up a bottle of red wine from the table, poured a glass, and downed it in one go. Han Wei and Lü Xiaofei beside him clearly sensed the chilling aura emanating from him. The fat man completely ignored Guo Feiyu, addressing Zhang Ya directly, "If you please me tonight, I'll give you a million."
Guo Feiyu picked up the wine bottle again. This time, instead of pouring, he hurled it at the lecherous fat man's face. The mostly full bottle smashed into the fat man's face. Wine and blood streamed down his cheek simultaneously. The fat man clutched his face, howling in pain. Two bodyguards rushed forward to support him, using tissues to wipe his face. The other two bodyguards charged at Guo Feiyu with fierce expressions.
Watching the two bodyguards charge, Guo Feiyu uttered two words venomously, "Seeking death." He leaped over the coffee table, one foot kicking towards one bodyguard's chest while his hand shot out to grab the other's throat. A sickening crack sounded as the kicked bodyguard's chest caved in. His body flew backward, slammed into the wall, bounced off, and collapsed to the floor, twitching uncontrollably. The other bodyguard was hoisted slowly into the air by his throat. Seeing the situation turn sour, the two bodyguards tending to the fat man also charged. Guo Feiyu swung his arm, and the bodyguard he held horizontally smashed into the two charging men. With a loud thud, the three collapsed into a heap.
Guo Feiyu slowly walked up to the fat man and delivered a sharp kick to his face. The glass shards still embedded in his flesh from the bottle were driven deeper. Clutching his bloody, mangled face, the fat man screamed in agony, "My eyes! My eyes!" A clamor of disorderly footsteps sounded outside the room. The manager of Brilliance burst in with over a dozen security guards. Seeing the gruesome state of the fat man on the floor, he hurried over and helped him up, barking at the guards by the door, "Quick! Take Director Zhang to the hospital!"
"Put him down. I haven't said he can leave yet," Guo Feiyu said coldly.
The manager frowned, his voice低沉. "Kid, you've got some nerve. You beat up our Chairman's uncle. Don't expect to walk out of Brilliance alive today."
Guo Feiyu smiled contemptuously, picked up another bottle of red wine from the table, and in a flash, was in front of the fat man, bringing the bottle down hard on his face. Smash! The sound of shattering glass erupted from the fat man's face once more. Without even a grunt, the fat man lost consciousness. By the time anyone reacted, Guo Feiyu was already back by Zhang Ya's side.
"You! Beat this kid to death!" the manager roared.
A group of guards brandishing batons charged at Guo Feiyu. Guo Feiyu pushed Zhang Ya aside, lifted his leg, and kicked the heavy rosewood coffee table towards the oncoming guards. The lead guards were directly knocked down by the table. The ones behind hesitated for a moment before shouting curses and rushing Guo Feiyu. Guo Feiyu executed a side kick, sending one guard flying. The airborne guard crashed into three others behind him. The remaining six or seven guards surrounded Guo Feiyu, none daring to make the first move. Hearing the commotion, another dozen guards rushed in, surrounding Guo Feiyu completely.
"Get him! Beat him to death!" the manager snarled through gritted teeth.
The encircled guards steeled themselves and charged. Guo Feiyu kept his hands still, his legs lashing out incessantly in all directions. Guards screamed as they were kicked flying to various parts of the room—some slammed into walls, others tumbled out the door. In less than five minutes, the floor was littered with bodies.
The manager stood gaping at the unbelievable scene. Is this even human? Over thirty guards taken down in just minutes. Guo Feiyu straightened his clothes and slowly walked towards the manager, who was supporting the unconscious fat man, his legs trembling uncontrollably.
"You... stay back! My boss, the Chairman, is the leader of the Flying Tiger Gang!" the manager stammered, using the fat man in his arms as a shield.
"Oh, the Flying Tiger Gang. Never heard of it," Guo Feiyu said mockingly.
"Boss, we should leave quickly, or we might not get out later. This Flying Tiger Gang is much more ruthless than the Iron Wolf Gang," Lü Xiaofei whispered urgently, stepping closer to Guo Feiyu.
"Tame the tiger, and the wolf will behave," Guo Feiyu said indifferently. He took out his phone and dialed Zhang Qiang's number. "Zhang Qiang, bring the men in."
Guo Feiyu walked back to Zhang Ya and asked gently, "Ya'er, are you scared?"
"Feiyu, I'm only scared that something might happen to you. Nothing else frightens me," Zhang Ya replied, looking up at him.
"My dear Ya'er, don't worry. Your husband will be fine," Guo Feiyu said emotionally, holding her close.
"Young Master, we're here," Zhang Qiang announced as he entered with over twenty bodyguards clad in black. Seeing the floor covered in injured guards, moans and screams filling the air, even Zhang Qiang was slightly taken aback. The Young Master truly lives up to being personally trained by Li Tianzheng. His skills are on par with mine.
"Zhang Qiang, send a few men to take Zhang Ya and my two classmates home first," Guo Feiyu instructed.
"None of you are going anywhere!" a cold voice cut through the air from the main hall outside the suite. "No one who causes trouble at Brilliance ever walks out on their own two feet. They're all carried out. You won't be an exception."
Chapter 8: The Tiger Gang Submits
A cold smile played on Guo Feiyu's lips. He put his arm around Zhang Ya and walked out, everyone from the suite following him into the main hall. The hall was densely packed with nearly three hundred men, each holding a machete, their faces brutish, their demeanor screaming 'gangster'. In the center of this crowd was a sofa where a man in his thirties, with a deceptively scholarly appearance, sat smoking. This was Cao Hu, the leader of the Flying Tiger Gang.
Seeing the group emerge from the Presidential Suite, led by a handsome youth barely twenty years old, Cao Hu was visibly shocked.
"Good, good. Heroes emerge from the young. Let's see how you plan to walk out of my Brilliance today," Cao Hu said, his gaze fixed intently on Guo Feiyu.
Guo Feiyu's personal guards brought over another sofa. Guo Feiyu sat down with Zhang Ya, completely ignoring Cao Hu's words, not even granting him a glance. Seeing the young man act so arrogantly on his own turf, rage surged within Cao Hu. When his eyes fell on his uncle's horrifically injured face, he could no longer contain himself. He threw his cigarette butt to the ground violently and roared, "Kid, I don't care what powerful backing you have! Today, I'll chop you to pieces!"
"Zhang Qiang, these people are all yours. I'm going to take a rest," Guo Feiyu said casually.
"Yes, Young Master!" Zhang Qiang responded crisply. With a flick of his wrist, he revealed a tapered bayonet. The twenty-four men behind him followed suit in perfect unison, their bayonets gleaming. These tapered bayonets, thirty centimeters long and shaped like slender cones, were the standard issue for the Golden Eagle Special Forces.
The twenty-five men stood motionless, their bayonets glinting coldly, their sharp eyes devoid of any emotion.
Looking at these twenty-five men, a sense of foreboding washed over Cao Hu. He gritted his teeth hard and shouted, "Chop them to death! I'll reward 100,000 to anyone who lands a blow on them!"
Hearing the promise of 100,000 per hit, the surrounding thugs' eyes turned red with greed. Waving their machetes, they rushed forward frantically. Zhang Qiang watched the tide of men surging towards them and uttered a single, emotionless word: "Kill." The twenty-five men shot into the crowd as one, their movements and speed perfectly synchronized. A Flying Tiger thug swung his machete at Zhang Qiang, but the blade stopped mid-air. The thug stared blankly at Zhang Qiang, unable to utter a word—his throat had been pierced. Blood flowed down the bayonet. Without pause, the bayonet, still embedded in the first thug's neck, was driven into the throat of another. Zhang Qiang kicked the two corpses impaled on his bayonet, sending them flying into the crowd behind, knocking down a swath of oncoming attackers. His ghostly figure then moved towards the next target. These twenty-five iron-willed men were like reapers, their bayonets constantly thrusting and withdrawing. They were covered in blood, not a drop of it their own. In their eyes, the three hundred Flying Tiger thugs were merely three hundred sheep.
Watching his men fall in waves, Cao Hu couldn't help but suck in a cold breath. Staring at the twenty-five unwavering figures in the center of the hall, he smelled the scent of death emanating from them. Of the three hundred Flying Tiger members, less than a hundred remained. Their hands holding the machetes trembled uncontrollably; no one dared charge forward anymore. Some even began to slowly back away. 100,000 yuan couldn't be equated with their lives.
"Stop! All of you, fall back!" Cao Hu stood up from the sofa and said weakly. He understood that even if all his men charged, the outcome wouldn't change. He walked step by step towards Guo Feiyu. Zhang Qiang instantly moved to block his path.
"Let him come," Guo Feiyu said.
Zhang Qiang stepped aside. Cao Hu walked up to Guo Feiyu. "Speak. What are your demands?"
"I want the Flying Tiger Gang to submit to me. I also want to take over all the assets under the Brilliance Group," Guo Feiyu said with a smile.
"You... you go too far! The Flying Tiger Gang plus the Brilliance Group has total assets of no less than five billion! Why should I hand them over to you for nothing?" Cao Hu's face turned ashen.
"I won't make you give them up for free. I'll invest 1.5 billion for a 75% stake in your Brilliance Group. Apart from me being the Chairman behind the scenes, you will remain the top decision-maker of the Brilliance Group. If you refuse, the Flying Tiger Gang and the Brilliance Group will completely disappear from H City. You'd better not doubt my capability," Guo Feiyu stated coldly.
Cao Hu frowned, remaining silent. Guo Feiyu continued, "I'll give you ten minutes to consider. After ten minutes, I need to take my friend home." Cao Hu nodded helplessly. "No need to consider. I agree."
"Good. I will send someone tomorrow to handle the relevant procedures. I hope you can become a capable right-hand man and not disappoint me," Guo Feiyu said, standing up from the sofa and walking out with his arm around Zhang Ya.
Watching Guo Feiyu leave, Cao Hu's body slumped powerlessly onto the sofa. He felt completely drained, without an ounce of strength left. Having fought his way through the underworld for over a decade, fearing nothing, he had finally tasted true fear today.
Outside the Brilliance Club, Guo Feiyu had his men take the badly shaken Han Wei and Lü Xiaofei home. Zhang Ya nestled against Guo Feiyu's chest and whispered, "Feiyu, take me for a walk by the river. I don't want to go home yet."
Guo Feiyu nodded, holding her close. "Ya'er, weren't you scared at all back there?"
"No, because you were with me," Zhang Ya answered without hesitation.
A wave of emotion swept through Guo Feiyu, and he held her tightly. Having a girl like Zhang Ya was every man's dream, and Guo Feiyu was living it. Arm in arm, they strolled along the brightly lit streets, Zhang Ya's heart filled with the happiness of being loved. Love had firmly bound their two hearts together.
The next day, one of H City's two major gangs, the Flying Tiger Gang, was renamed the Feiyu Gang. The Brilliance Group was renamed the Feiyu Group. Cao Hu, the former Chairman of Brilliance Group, transformed into the General Manager of Feiyu Group. This news shocked both the underworld and the legitimate business world. People speculated wildly about the identity of the figure who had made the once-domineering Cao Hu bow down.
The new Chairman of the Feiyu Group, Guo Feiyu, hands laden with over a dozen clothing bags, followed behind Zhang Ya. He looked at the "enormous" shopping mall with a pained expression.
Zhang Ya turned her head and gave him a captivating smile. "Husband, after we finish buying clothes, let's go browse the Walmart supermarket."
Beads of sweat the size of peas formed on Guo Feiyu's forehead. He nodded with all his might, praying inwardly: My dear wife, please have mercy on your poor, suffering husband. Watching Zhang Ya already entering the Chanel boutique, he shook his head, lifted his trembling legs, and followed.
