Chapter 112: Found it, the Snake Cave
...
On the deck.
The weather was fine, with gentle breezes and bright sunshine.
It was noon.
The group was having lunch, but the atmosphere was a bit peculiar.
Honoka was carefree, completely oblivious to the mood, enjoying her food with both hands.
Konan ate in small bites, her expression calm.
Opposite her sat Samui and Shion, who was also dressed in Akatsuki attire.
Today was the third day since she had been captured.
The experiences of these past three days had greatly impacted her worldview, opening a door to a new world.
The usually proud and aloof Shion couldn't throw any tantrums in front of Konan.
At first, she refused, crying and pleading, but unsurprisingly, she eventually succumbed just like Samui.
These three days of life were better than all her past years combined.
In the past, she had stayed in that cold, silent palace, where no one dared to speak to her.
Bored, lonely—living was a form of torture.
But now...
Shion lowered her head, her small face almost buried in her rice bowl.
Revealing her large eyes, she stole a glance at Konan.
Her cheeks instantly flushed red, and she hurriedly looked away, shifting her gaze to Honoka.
This girl was about her age and a natural optimist.
Unlike everyone in the Land of Demons who feared her, they got along well.
She finally had a friend she could talk to happily.
As for the other person beside her...
Shion's gaze was instantly drawn to those two massive peaks.
Even though she had seen them many times, and they had even been "open and honest" with each other, it was still unbelievable.
How could they grow so huge? It was too exaggerated...
Recalling certain stimulating scenes, Shion's face flushed, and her heart raced.
She quickly buried her head again.
Perhaps this kind of life wasn't bad.
Rather than finding a random person in the Land of Demons to serve as a breeding machine, it was better to live happily here.
Every day there was delicious food, fun things to do, and endless high-altitude scenery.
She wasn't confined to one place, and everyone could communicate with her normally, without fearing her death predictions.
Thinking of predictions, Shion was confused.
Just like with Lady Konan, she couldn't see the death outcomes for Samui or Honoka.
Even the bald uncle who was always invisible nearby, waiting to serve, was unreadable.
The fates of everyone around Lady Konan seemed to have been changed.
Her death prediction had lost its effect.
This was good too; she didn't have to worry about bringing bad luck or death to those close to her.
After the meal.
Kameda deftly cleared the tableware and whispered:
"Lady Konan, we have arrived in the Land of Bears. Ryuzetsu is waiting below."
Konan had returned to the Land of Bears.
Ryuzetsu and half of the Sky Ninja troops had stayed behind, and their search progress had been very smooth.
They quickly found an anomaly that met her requirements.
Konan put down her teacup and stood up.
Honoka and Samui stood up simultaneously.
Then came the flustered Shion.
Still lowering her small head, her big eyes stole glances at Konan.
"Kameda, park the aerial fortress at high altitude and wait for my return."
"Yes, Lady Konan."
Honoka said hurriedly, "Lady Konan—"
"No need to follow." Konan waved her hand to stop her. "This is not a battle."
Below was a potential entrance to a Sage Region.
If things went smoothly, there should be an opportunity to learn Senjutsu.
According to Alex, learning Senjutsu required massive chakra.
Among the group, only Honoka barely met the requirements.
But Senjutsu was very dangerous; a moment of carelessness could lead to petrification.
With Honoka's current strength and chakra control, it wasn't suitable for her to learn it now.
Only after Konan learned it herself and fully understood the dangers and consequences could she judge whether Honoka was suitable to learn it.
Konan spread her wings, left the aerial fortress, and flew down rapidly.
Seeing this, Shion breathed a sigh of relief, finally raising her head, her face full of blush.
She couldn't help it; as soon as she saw Konan, she felt weak all over, and her face burned.
Samui understood this well; one would get used to it eventually.
The two women subconsciously exchanged a glance, their eyes meeting for a brief moment before parting.
In a sense, they were comrades who coordinated well.
Honoka looked at the two of them, opening her mouth but not knowing what to say.
She just felt the atmosphere was a bit weird; she really didn't know what they were up to.
On the ground.
Ryuzetsu and a group of Sky Ninja stood on several towering trees, waiting silently.
The message had arrived; she knew Lady Konan would arrive soon.
Sure enough.
Ryuzetsu looked up at the sky. A small black dot fell from the clouds.
Her vision blurred, and in the next second, Konan flew in front of her, hovering in mid-air.
"Lady Konan!" Ryuzetsu greeted respectfully.
The Sky Ninja behind her greeted in unison.
Konan quickly scanned everyone.
Everyone was present, and no one was injured.
"Ryuzetsu stays. Everyone else, return to the aerial fortress."
"Yes!"
One by one, the Sky Ninja activated the flight packs on their chests and flew toward the high sky.
"Lady Konan, please follow me."
Ryuzetsu jumped down from the big tree, and Konan followed behind.
As soon as they landed, the light dimmed significantly.
Most of the sunlight was blocked by the broad leaves of the trees, with only a little filtering through.
The ground was overgrown with various vegetation; there were no paths or places to step.
The surroundings were very quiet; no insects or birds could be heard.
The air was very fresh.
Ryuzetsu used her flight pack to float two meters above the ground.
Shuttling nimbly through the forest, she pointed to a pitch-black cave ahead and said:
"Lady Konan, that's it!"
"It's practically a snake cave. There are a vast number of poisonous snakes inside. They gather in groups and are very dangerous. I only dared to probe the perimeter; I didn't dare go deep."
Ryuzetsu looked at the huge snake cave with apprehension. "But I can confirm it goes very deep. I don't know where it leads."
"I don't know if this meets your requirements, Lady Konan?"
After speaking, she looked at Konan uneasily.
This was her first task since joining.
She had searched very diligently in the rainforest these past few days.
A carpet search, enduring countless insect bites.
She hoped to complete the task successfully and not disappoint Lady Konan.
Konan sized up the snake cave.
Obvious crawling tracks could be seen around it.
Including traces as thick as water tanks.
Many thick trees had been knocked down and snapped.
Waves of pungent, fishy smells wafted from the cave.
She could even see exaggerated colorful poison clouds.
Alex was also observing.
This should be one of the entrances from Ryuchi Cave to the outside world.
After all, who knew how many snake descendants the White Snake Sage had?
It was impossible for her to solve the food problem for all these snake groups; they had to forage for themselves.
Konan felt certain. She withdrew her gaze and looked at Ryuzetsu:
"You did well. Return to the aerial fortress and wait for me."
Ryuzetsu puffed out her small chest, saying excitedly, "Yes!"
After speaking, she immediately flew toward the sky.
She wasn't worried about Lady Konan being in danger.
Mere poisonous snakes definitely couldn't threaten the powerful Lady Konan.
[Konan, I will maintain silence later and help you learn Senjutsu in secret.]
Alex flew into Konan's chest and went dormant.
After all, the sage was an old monster who had lived for a thousand years; they had to be careful.
He had already told Konan the relevant intelligence regarding Senjutsu.
Konan patted her chest and flew into the snake cave with a calm expression.
