Chapter 75 - Chapter Seventy-One: Join Us

"Join your crew, you guys are pirates," Amy asked.

"Not just any pirates," Noah replied with a grin, "really cool ones."

Amy shook her head, smiling sadly. "Sorry… I can't join your crew. Not because I hate pirates, but because my dad needs me here."

Noah sighed. "I'll make you join me one way or another. But for now, can you show us somewhere we could stay the night?"

"My uncle owns an inn a few blocks from here," Amy said.

"You guys can stay for free," Harris added.

"Thanks," Noah replied. "We'll save your daughter, don't worry."

Harris smiled. "Why don't you two wait until we close up the restaurant? Then we can all go to the inn together."

Noah nodded. "Sounds like a plan."

Night fell, and Amy and Harris finished closing up the restaurant.

"Old man," Noah said as he stepped outside, "we didn't get to pay you guys for the food."

"It's okay," Amy replied with a gentle smile.

They walked for five minutes until Amy stopped in front of a small, neat house.

"This is where I live," she said.

Noah put a hand on her shoulder.

"What are you doing?" Amy asked nervously.

"For safety," Noah replied with a small smile.

"Goodnight, Amy," Harris said, giving his niece a quick hug.

Emma and Noah waved as they continued down the street.

After a few more minutes, they reached the inn.

"Welcome to my inn," Harris said, unlocking the door.

Emma and Noah stepped inside. Harris locked the door behind them with a heavy padlock.

"I don't get many customers these days, with everything happening," he said. "So it'll just be you two and me tonight. You can take the rooms upstairs."

"Thanks," Emma and Noah replied.

The two went upstairs and entered separate rooms. Noah falls onto his bed.

"I'm bored," he muttered, staring at the ceiling.

The next morning, Amy arrived at the inn, carrying a small basket.

Emma looked up in surprise. "Amy? Why aren't you at the restaurant today?"

Amy smiled. "It's Sunday. We close on Sundays, so I came to check on you two."

Noah stretched. "Good timing. We were just about to look for breakfast."

Amy lifted the basket a little. "I brought some. Fresh bread and roasted duck."

They all sat around the small table. As they ate, Emma started talking, amy eyes sparkled.

"We've been through a lot since we became pirates, we fought a god. Sea Kings, crazy storms… and we even fought against the world government."

Amy nearly dropped her bread. " the world government? Seriously?"

"Noah destroyed Enies Lobby," Emma said proudly.

Noah shrugged. " Those CP5 guys were crazy strong."

Amy stared at them both, amazed. "You two really aren't normal…"

Emma laughed. "We get that a lot."

"So what about you?" Emma asked.

Amy shook her head. "I've never left the island… but I've always wanted to."

Noah leaned forward. "Tell us more about yourself."

"Well," Amy began, "ever since I was young, my dad taught me everything he knows-cooking, martial arts, everything."

Noah blinked. "Wait—martial arts? you know martial arts?"

Amy nodded. "Yeah. I've been training since I could walk."

Noah's grin grew wide. "See? You have to join my crew. A martial artist chef? That's perfect."

Amy laughed softly. "I can't join your crew. I still have responsibilities at home… but I'll help you however I can while you guys are here."

Emma smiled. "That's all we need. Together, we can save your cousin and take down Captain Grudge."

"I'll tell you guys everything I know." Amy said.

Noah stood and finished the last of his bread.

"Good. Because today we need you to tell us about everything that you know."

Emma sipped her tea. "And tomorrow?"

Noah grinned. "Tomorrow, we hit them where it hurts."

Amy puts the tea cup down.

"This is going to be a long day."

"No," Noah said, picking up another piece of bread, "today will be awesome."
