Chapter 159 - Digesting the Potion

Suddenly, the secret room lit up, as if night had passed and dawn had arrived.

In this Light, like the morning sun, Lex felt the coldness on his body receding, and his body and mind becoming warm again.

He heard a muffled, illusory groan, and then, a translucent figure retreated from Lex's body, quickly hiding in the shadows behind the bookshelf.

Two black-green eyes looked at Lex, devoid of any emotion, and let out a silent shriek.

But where he was, patches of light suddenly surged, sweeping in all directions. In this storm of light, his figure was swallowed.

However, the next moment, he appeared on the glass surface of the lampshade, and frost quickly climbed onto the glass, then it shattered.

Glass fragments sprayed in all directions, and each fragment that fell to the ground spread frost, solidifying the ground into a smooth, mirror-like layer of ice.

Eugene.

The Sequence 5 Wraith, his figure flickering alternately among these ice layers and glass fragments, was about to Breakthrough the room.

But then.

Walls of light rose up, as if condensing the morning light, transforming this place into a 'secret room' in an mystic sense!

Then, at this moment, the ground trembled slightly, as if a giant had leaped to the ground. Then Lex heard a hearty laugh behind him: "Are you calling me, little fellow?"

Lex turned his head, and in front of him, there was indeed a 'giant'.

Over two and a half meters tall, with exaggerated muscles, his Face was ugly and fierce, but his eyes were unexpectedly gentle.

His Face had a long scar, as if it were a 'medal' left from fighting a Dragon. He wore silver full body armor, and these armors emitted the Light from the inside out, dazzling but not harsh.

He casually carried a broadsword that glowed with a silver radiance, and around this broadsword, there was no space where shadows existed. (Note 1)

In front of him, Lex felt as small as an ant.

Struggling to calm himself, Lex took a step back and calmly saluted the 'giant': "Good evening, Lord Paul."

"I, being weak, truly cannot contend against a Wraith. Out of helplessness, I could only pray for your arrival. I hope this has not caused you any trouble."

The giant named 'Paul' burst into laughter: "You are more polite than I imagined. To be honest, your biography is very interesting, so I don't mind helping you out occasionally."

"If you were to die, I would lose an interesting pastime."

"Besides, there are three things I hate most. Wraiths happen to be one of them."

The giant suddenly turned around, looking down at the fragments and ice on the ground, and at the 'Wraith' Eugene, who was constantly flickering among these things, fearing to be locked on.

"So, how long do you plan to hide?"

Lex showed an amused expression and chuckled softly: "What's wrong, Mr. Eugene? Where did your prestige from earlier go?"

"Oh, right, you are a Sequence 5 'strongman' after all. Hiding like this, aren't you afraid of damaging your Face?"

Paul tilted his head, looked at Lex, and a smile played on his lips, seemingly seeing through Lex's little thoughts.

Lex felt his Face burn under his gaze. If there were a mirror in front of him, Lex was sure that his Face must now be a 'smug villain' expression.

But that's a Wraith! Three whole Sequences higher than me. Provocation against a high-Sequence opponent can accelerate the digestion of the potion!

It's rare to have Lord Paul by my side, so I don't have to worry about getting beaten. Compared to such a rare opportunity, what is Face!

Among the ice and lampshade fragments, Eugene remained unmoved. He wasn't worried about his image being damaged; the giant who suddenly appeared gave him an exceptionally dangerous feeling.

He was certain that the other party had to be a high-Sequence powerhouse, possibly a Saint, or even an Angel!

In any case, escape first.

It wouldn't be too late to deal with this annoying, smug bastard after he saved his life!

"Wait, you're not trying to escape, are you?"

That shameless, despicable fellow, relying on a powerhouse to hold the fort, spoke again. Eugene looked at the small mustache on the other's Face, and the more he looked, the more he wanted to tear him to pieces.

"You really should escape."

"Don't ever learn from your sister; her reckless bravery only earned her a bullet in the end."

Lex raised his hand, made a gun shape with it, and then pointed it at his temple.

"Bang."

"She just fell."

In an instant.

Eugene, from within a piece of ice, his flickering dark green eyes suddenly filled with overflowing malice. He seemed to have lost his mind, no longer thinking!

Suddenly, a chilling wind swept through the room filled with the Light. Lex trembled uncontrollably. He quickly activated his Spiritual Vision, and immediately saw blurred and transparent figures rushing towards him and Paul.

At this moment, the giant, carrying the broadsword, uttered a single word from his mouth in a low, powerful voice: "Scram!"

Those shadowy figures that rushed forward immediately vanished into the Light, like wisps of smoke blown away by the wind.

And at this time, Eugene, who had been hiding in the ice and glass fragments, lunged out with his ethereal figure, emitting a silent shriek.

The ground where Lex stood suddenly turned black, and twisted, blood-red vines rapidly rose. Each segment of these vines had fangs and eyes, and they grew wildly, coiling around Lex.

But when they coiled around Lex, before they could absorb the warm blood, Lex's figure suddenly thinned, like a piece of paper, allowing the vines to pass through him.

In the corner of the room, Lex silently leaped out, his Face pale, somewhat fearful.

At the same time, a silver sharp light abruptly emerged from the Wraith's illusory body, destroying everything from the inside out.

Even if Eugene was in a virtual state, he could not stop this destruction. On the contrary, the trauma suffered in the Wraith state was greater than in a real physical body!

Because that silver glow had the ability to purify, capable of eliminating Wraiths!

With an illusory scream, the room suddenly brightened, as if the morning sun had risen. When the Light disappeared, Lex saw a pile of 'fragments' on the ground.

Eugene died.

After his death, he automatically deactivated his Wraith form, and his body was torn into pieces, with various 'parts' scattered all over the floor. These incomplete pieces of flesh even wiggled a few times before completely losing vitality.

Although he was prepared, seeing a Sequence 5 being killed by the giant like an insect, Lex didn't even know how the other party did it or what ability they used.

Indeed.

Every Saint is very powerful.

The previous Clemons, and now Paul, both adults are like this!

"Alright, cleanup complete, let me go back."

The powerful and magnetic voice sounded again. Lex looked at the man in the silver full body armor and said unexpectedly: "Don't you want to stay for a while? My spirituality can probably last for about 10 minutes."

Paul laughed heartily: "No, I still have work to do. There are many guys hiding in the dark, waiting for me to deal with them."

Lex nodded: "Then I won't disturb you, thank you again for your help."

Paul hummed, then smiled and said: "Oh, by the way, you Hunters are indeed quite annoying."

Lex gave an embarrassed smile.

Leaving these words, the giant's figure gradually faded in the Light. When he completely disappeared, the Light in the secret room also completely vanished.

The secret room returned to darkness, and Lex stood in the dark, letting out a soft sigh: "The Provoker potion has been completely digested!"
