Chapter 160 - I Want to Report

Some almost transparent specks of light were precipitating from Eugene's scattered flesh and merging with a nearby clump of blood.

The characteristics of a Wraith were taking shape.

Lex looked at the flesh on the ground, shook his head, carefully chose his footing, and came to the classical table, picking up Hudson's notebook.

He thought for a moment and said, "From the looks of it, Eugene should have been Hudson's strongest helper in Tingen."

"Now this helper is gone, and he died tragically in his home. Hudson will have a hard time explaining this to his superiors."

"In that case, perhaps I can make some other arrangements while keeping the original plan unchanged."

"For example, personally dealing with that fat man and avenging Grizzly and all those who died by his hand? Hmm, as long as I hand over these evidences and the three contracts, Heimerk will probably struggle to protect himself."

"At this time, he naturally wouldn't care about a turncoat who has failed several times."

"Moreover, I have the black night embrace, and if I bring the evil bandage during the operation, I will have both secret and anti-divination abilities."

"That's what I'll do!"

Lex walked towards the shelf, taking away the telegrams and the parchment with the evil prayer text.

Then, he looked at the blood all over the floor and had a new idea.

Late at night.

A carriage stopped in front of the house, and the grey-bearded Hudson hurriedly got out of the car. He was attending a banquet at the club when his servants suddenly came to him, saying they heard strange noises in the house.

Hudson rushed back immediately.

He knew very well that a Wraith was hidden in his house; that fellow named Eugene was the brother of 'Princess' Maggie.

After Maggie's death, Hudson, fearing punishment, did not report the matter to his superior.

Although his superior didn't question it, Eugene came looking for him, and Hudson could only appease him for now, settling him in his home.

Now, hearing there was movement in the house, he worried Eugene might do something, so he rushed back.

Hudson dismissed the servants and went alone to Eugene's room, knocking on the door and softly asking, "Mr. Eugene, are you asleep?"

There was no response from the room.

Hudson frowned and said again, "Mr. Eugene, if you don't mind, I'd like to talk to you about a few things."

Still no answer, so Hudson pushed open the door, only to find no one in the room.

"Damn it, he wouldn't have gone out on his own, would he? If he attracts official attention..."

Hudson hurried back to the hall and called the servants: "Where in the house did you hear the noise?"

The servants exchanged glances before saying, "Sir, it was your bedroom. The sound came from your bedroom."

Bedroom?

Not good!

What if Eugene discovered the notebook I hid in the secret room!

Hudson's face instantly turned ugly. He went upstairs without a word, quickly arriving at the bedroom.

He locked the door, looked around, and only after finding everything normal did he breathe a sigh of relief.

But Hudson was uneasy. He quickly walked to the corner, pulled down the candlestick, and watched as the adjacent wall and wardrobe slid open, revealing the dim secret room inside.

Hudson walked closer, about to grab the gas lamp, when suddenly, he smelled a bloody odor wafting from the secret room, and all the fat on his body trembled.

He quickly reached for the gas lamp placed by the door, but found the lampshade was broken. Hudson didn't care about much else, quickly twisted the switch, and lit the lamp.

When the light came on, Hudson immediately saw a pool of crimson liquid slowly squirming on the secret room floor, spreading towards his feet.

The floor was covered in flesh and shattered bones, as if a living person had exploded and died there.

Hudson held up the gas lamp without a lampshade, walking forward step by step, and then saw a line of still-wet blood writing on the wall in front of the table.

'What you want, I will hand over to the authorities. While there's still time, run, Hudson!'

The bloody handwriting, like a flame, instantly ignited the fury in Hudson's heart.

Provocation!

This was blatant Provocation!

Hudson could even imagine the other party's contemptuous sneer when leaving this message.

As if admiring a clown's performance on stage.

And I am that clown!

He had once used the blood of Grizzly and Mole to leave similar messages.

And now.

Someone used the same method, in his secret room, to leave these provocative words.

This is revenge against me!

Hudson looked at the flesh on the ground, and a thought arose in his mind that slightly lessened his anger, even making him feel fear.

This wouldn't be Eugene's 'stuff', would it?

I actually provoked such a formidable opponent?

No.

If the other party had such strength, I wouldn't have survived until now after killing those two hunters.

Was it an accident?

Or some other reason I hadn't thought of?

But no matter what, I can be sure that Eugene was definitely not killed by a hunter.

But what does that matter?

A wave of despair suddenly surged in Hudson's heart.

Maggie is dead, the contract hasn't been retrieved, and now even Eugene is dead.

I have no way to explain this to my superior.

Run? Where can I run to?

Even if I escape Tingen, even if I leave Loen, that man will not let me go.

Unless I come forward and voluntarily report to the authorities, then there's a chance to get official protection, a chance to survive.

Hmm.

That's what I'll do.

However...

Looking at the blood words on the wall, Hudson snorted: "But before that, this fellow must die!"

On Tuesday morning, while it was still dimly lit, a priest who had woken up early in St. Selina's Church walked to the door, intending to open it.

Suddenly, the priest noticed a package placed on the ground in front of the door.

He walked over, and on top of the package, someone had used a stone to hold down a piece of paper.

The paper contained the following information.

'I want to report Hudson Noel, a member of the Horse Riding Club. He is a member of the Psychological Alchemists and has caused multiple tragic incidents using his abilities and items. This includes Councilor Maynard. The specific evidence is all in the package.'

The priest quickly picked up the package and ran quickly into the depths of the church: "Bishop, Bishop..."

Nine in the morning.

Two carriages with Police Station insignia stopped in front of Hudson's house in Golden Banyan District. Seven or eight police officers rushed in, quickly searched the house inside and out, and then reported to a police officer in his thirties with a prominent nose and grey eyes.

"Hudson has not been found; he seems to have absconded."

The grey-eyed officer pointed to a somewhat scholarly colleague and another black-haired, green-eyed police officer, saying, "You two investigate again in detail; don't miss any details."

The two police officers nodded and turned to re-enter the house.

An entire morning passed in a flash.

Three in the afternoon.

On Red Moon Street, Lex, in his capacity as 'Duke,' pushed open the door to Mr. Parker's residence.
