When the Arbiter took off his golden mask, Lynn whistled, "So it's you, Cromwell. I didn't expect you to be eyeing my wine too."
Cromwell untied his ropes. "You guessed wrong. I originally wanted to introduce you to a friend, but I didn't expect to coincidentally run into you being kidnapped."
"Looks like my luck isn't too bad." Lynn looked at Lex, who was wearing a white mask. "Is this the friend you mentioned?"
"This is the Duke."
Cromwell introduced, "This is Lynn."
Lex took off his mask and smiled, "Good afternoon, Mr. Lynn."
"Obviously, I'm not doing very well." Lynn moved his numb wrists. "However, I owe you a favor. If you need to fight a lawsuit, just come to me, and I will do my best."
"Thank you." Lex ran two fingers over his fake mustache, which was stuck to his mouth, and then said, "Are we just letting that fat man go?"
"This is Backlund. For matters like this, if they can be resolved through proper channels, it's best to use legitimate methods."
The Arbiter explained, looking at Lynn, "Besides, this guy is a lawyer. He knows how to legally use legal weapons."
Cromwell helped the lawyer up. "What are your plans next?"
Lynn shrugged. "As you said, I want to go to the Police Station first and catch our Mr. Kim. Then I'll have to temporarily move in with you for a while. The Zmanger gang's Executioner unfortunately let me see his face when he kidnapped me."
Is he worried about being silenced?
Lex rubbed his chin. If Lynn also moved in, then there would be three people living in Cromwell's house.
It's a bit crowded.
"Let's go."
Cromwell patted Lynn's shoulder. "By the way, I'll tell you something on the way."
When they returned to the Arbiter's house on Evergreen Street, Lynn already knew that Lex wanted his help to find investment channels.
Sitting on the sofa, he took a bag full of ice from Cromwell and put it on his face, saying, "I happen to have an investment project here. The Eric Steel Mill needs to collect some shares to cash out for certain reasons."
"That idiot Kim kidnapped me just to get more shares. So, how much capital do you have available?"
Lex immediately said, "Around five thousand to ten thousand pounds."
Lynn whistled. "As a Hunter, you're much richer than Cromwell. I originally thought he was quite wealthy among Hunters, but you are clearly richer."
"8000 pounds."
Lynn quickly thought about it and gave a number. "If you can come up with 8000 pounds by next week, I have a way to persuade the other party to sell 15% of the shares."
"Based on the information I've gathered from other sources, in one or two months, this 8000 pounds could double, or even more."
He stood up. "You consider it. If you've made up your mind, then when I get back, we can discuss it in detail."
"Cromwell, I need you to come with me to the Police Station."
The Arbiter stood up and smiled, "Always at your service."
"No, no, don't use that tone, I'm getting goosebumps." Lynn took off his blood-stained vest and put on the jacket the Arbiter brought. "Later, we can still go home, and then tonight, we can enjoy Intis's fine wine."
On Saturday morning, Lex got Cromwell's bank account number in Backlund from him and then went to the telegraph office.
He sent a telegram to Bison, telling him that he had found a short-term investment project that required 8000 pounds. He asked him to transfer the money to Cromwell's account, and he would repay him from his own account after he returned to Tingen.
The reason for this hassle was that Lex did not carry any identification when he Teleported over.
Personal accounts and anonymous accounts are different; the latter only requires a preset 'password' to withdraw money, but personal accounts do not. When withdrawing money, banks require customers to show their identification.
When he returned from the telegraph company, Lex saw the big boy from that day in front of the Arbiter's house.
He was still wearing an old overcoat and a bowler hat. Hearing footsteps, the big boy looked up, meeting Lex's gaze with his crimson eyes.
"Good morning, sir."
The big boy took a note from his pocket. "Detective Ze Rui'er asked me to give this to you. He said you can settle the final payment with him after you confirm it's correct."
Ze Rui'er?
He had already found the Miss's address?
Lex immediately took it and smiled, "Thank you."
After sending off the big boy, Lex pushed open the door and unfolded the note.
On it was an address.
East District, a certain street.
A bell suddenly rang at the door. A woman in the inner room called out, "Xio see who it is. Oh, and have you seen my cigarette case?"
The petite girl in the living room, who was reading a newspaper, sighed, ruffled her frizzy blonde hair, and opened the door.
"Good afternoon, beautiful Miss."
Before she could clearly see who was outside the door, a fragrant rose was pushed in front of her. The packaged flowers looked so lovely that the blonde girl unconsciously took it before examining the visitor outside the door.
He wore a semi-tall silk top hat and a pure black formal suit. Under his black, messy hair was a young face. Although there was a faint scar under his left eye, it did not affect the girl's judgment of him as 'handsome'.
"You are?"
The man stepped back two paces, and the girl then noticed that he was holding another bouquet of flowers.
A very large bouquet!
"Please allow me to introduce myself, I am Lex, Lex Disraeli. I am from Desie County, and I am a loyal reader of Miss Fors."
"I heard she lives in Backlund, and I happen to be staying here for a few days. So I asked some friends from publishing houses and found out Miss Fors's address."
"I know this is very presumptuous, very abrupt, and completely impolite. But I really want to meet Miss Fors. I hope she can sign this book for me."
Seeing the other party pull out a copy of "Wuthering Heights," the blonde girl shook her head and called into the room, "Fors, you have a guest."
A moment later, Lex saw Fors in the living room, the Miss whom the Watcher had said had a great connection to Abraham.
The blonde girl did not leave; she stood nearby, just in case Lex did anything out of line or impulsive, so she could 'persuade' the gentleman and stop his rudeness.
Fors, dressed casually, was holding a rolled cigarette between two fingers, her eyes languid and unenergetic as she looked at Lex. "You are my reader."
"Yes, the most loyal kind."
Lex handed over the bouquet he was holding. Fors's eyes showed clear hesitation, but she still took it. The blonde girl next to her looked at the single rose in her hand and slightly discontentedly snorted through her nostrils.
"I shouldn't have privately inquired about your address, nor should I have disturbed you in such a presumptuous manner. But my time is running out…"
The woman with brown hair, loose and languid eyes, was slightly moved. "No way, you look so young and healthy, how could you have contracted a serious illness?"
Lex was stunned, and the words that had come to his lips suddenly couldn't be continued.
