Chapter 340 - Bait and Decoy

Lex, appearing as a local native on Sea Defense Street, saw Danitz running swiftly, saw him knock over a peddler with a cart of fruit passing through Sea Defense Street, saw him strike the horse pulling the cart with a flaming palm, and saw him rush directly into a small shop on the street, causing the people inside to scream and run out.

Watching Danitz create Confusion with various methods, Lex couldn't help but wonder if this guy was so skilled because he had to escape frequently.

Facing the Confusion caused by Danitz, the agitated Enforcers did not avoid it; they kicked away the fruit rolling on the ground, pushed the charging horse to the other side, and, ignoring the screaming crowd, rushed into the small shop, then smashed through the back window of the shop, chasing the infamous pirate with a bounty of 3,000 pounds.

Sea Defense Street was no longer an option, so Danitz had to run towards the central district of Bayam, towards the bustling areas.

He quickly spotted a market, seeing a throng of people.

Danitz swiftly observed his surroundings, then a fireball appeared in his hand, which he hurled at a building not far away.

The fireball struck the building, exploding, but the flames it ignited were fleeting, at most leaving a few wisps of fire on the building, without even crumbling a single corner.

But this was enough to startle the people inside, causing a commotion in the building, and a moment later, the residents rushed out onto the street.

Danitz released these 'firework-like' fireballs as he ran, startling the residents in the surrounding buildings, scaring them out of their homes and onto the streets, making the already narrow street even more congested.

Danitz squeezed into the crowd, then quickly rushed into a house, went straight through the living room, and climbed out of the kitchen window.

The pursuing Enforcers immediately lost him, but one of the Enforcers took out an item and lit it with a match. A moment later, a cluster of orange mist bloomed in the sky above the area.

Standing on a clock tower, Deacon Cordoba Roye clearly saw the cloud of mist, and he immediately turned back: "East side of the city, Team 1 lost him."

A priest behind him immediately rang a bell; different numbers of chimes represented different commands.

Another team of Enforcers, having received the command, immediately moved towards the east side of the city, intending to rendezvous with the other team and form a encirclement.

Danitz's good luck seemed to end with this series of chimes. As he turned a corner into an alley, an Enforcer suddenly spotted him ahead. Danitz did not evade, and the Enforcer also quickened his pace. After moving quickly for a few meters, both began to run.

Illusory fish scales appeared on the Enforcer's skin.

An orange-red fireball also appeared in Danitz's palm.

The moment the two met.

The Enforcer punched Danitz in the face, causing 'Blazing' to jerk his head to one side, a few drops of blood splattering from his mouth onto the wall.

At the same time, the fireball in Danitz's hand struck the Enforcer, blasting him backward into a pigsty, where he fell unconscious.

Danitz did not stop, wiping his mouth as he ran, and returned to the bustling street.

An Enforcer ran over, glanced at his companion, then pursued.

All of this was observed by Lex, who was perched on a distant rooftop. He was about to leave when he suddenly saw another figure appear. It was a man in a white formal suit and a white top hat.

He took out a handkerchief, carefully wiped the wall where Danitz's blood was splattered, then solemnly put away the blood-stained handkerchief, and cautiously looked around before leaving.

Lex's lips curved into a smile; a fish had taken the bait. That man was clearly a minion of Blood Admiral infiltrating Bayam. If he followed him, even if Danitz's operation failed, there would be a high chance of finding Blood Admiral's location.

He was about to follow, but at that moment, other thoughts flooded Lex's mind.

The man appeared too ostentatiously, as if deliberately. Could he also be 'bait'?

Lex decided to hold his ground.

Sure enough, not long after, he saw a suspicious man with thick white powder on his face lurking nearby. A moment later, he met with the man in the white top hat. The man with the clean white face shook his head, saying something unknown, and the two separated again.

That was close!

Clearly, the white top hat was bait. If Lex had followed, the white-faced man would have discovered him.

How cunning.

Lex waited a moment longer before continuing to follow Danitz.

In the air, the Fourth Mate's perfume scent still lingered.

Lex moved, ideas surfacing in his mind.

The white top hat using a handkerchief to obtain Danitz's blood shouldn't just be 'fishing'; he likely has 'divination' methods, and Danitz's blood could provide him with a lot of information.

If 'Dream Divination' were used, he might even discover that Danitz was cooperating with him. However, I am wearing 'black night embrace', so even if something is seen in a dream, it should not be possible to confirm it is me.

Furthermore, I am currently wearing 'Thousand-Faced Traveler', so any divination pointing to me will be interfered with. The operation can continue, but I must be even more careful.

As expected, Blood Admiral's subordinates do not lack divination-type Beyonder.

Just as Lex was delayed by Blood Admiral's minion, Danitz had already fiercely collided with another Enforcer. After inflicting some damage on each other, Danitz continued to flee.

However, he could feel that the Enforcers' encirclement was tightening. From the frequent encounters with Enforcers, it seemed that the Storm Church had indeed dispatched two teams of Enforcers.

Damn it!

That crow's mouth, Rayleigh!

And those 'Sailor' are truly crazy. I'm just a Boatswain, do they really need to send two teams of Enforcers!

Danitz darted into a spice shop, ignoring the owner's obstruction and crashing into the warehouse. As he jumped out of the warehouse window, his vision went black, and a storage box flew towards him.

Danitz crossed his arms in front of him, and the storage box shattered against his hands.

The great pirate with a bounty of 3,000 pounds was simultaneously knocked to the ground. Seeing someone rushing over, he immediately pressed down on the ground, and flames flickered. A fire snake, condensed from flames, slithered over, wrapped around his opponent's leg, and exploded.

Danitz seized the opportunity to get up, but before he had taken two steps, he was tackled by a figure rushing out of an adjacent alley.

Just as he had anticipated, the Enforcers were getting closer and closer. He repeatedly went through the process of fighting, escaping, and encountering. His injuries gradually accumulated, and his spirituality and physical strength were rapidly depleting.

When Danitz was cornered at a street intersection, he saw Cordoba Roye. He didn't know who the other party was, but that figure exerted immense pressure on him. Danitz looked around, then sprinted into a hotel. Explosions and firelight frequently erupted inside the hotel, and thick smoke billowed out.

People in the hotel screamed and ran out, allowing the Confusion to spread and expand at the intersection.

Cordoba Roye calmly made a gesture, instructing the Enforcers to surround the hotel, establish a cordon, and isolate the residents from the hotel.

Then, he stood in front of the hotel's main entrance and, with a loud voice, declared: "Surrender, Blazing, you can't escape!"
