"Why are you here?"
"You should be dead. You should have been destroyed by the Lord of Storms!"
As Lex spoke, he shot flames from his palm, burning the scroll case and gripping the 'Devil May Cry' inside.
At this moment, his body went cold and he couldn't move. Lex quickly blinked, activating Spiritual Vision, and saw several pale, almost transparent phantoms grabbing his hands and feet, making it difficult for him to move.
The woman opposite him had no expression on her beautiful, alluring face. She tilted her head slightly, and Lex suddenly felt an itch on the back of his hand. Then, the cursed black mark, which he had thought disappeared, rapidly expanded again.
But it seemed to be hindered by some force, and after expanding to the size of a coin, it suddenly shrank again.
This made the woman across the room visibly stunned. In the end, the cursed black mark remained the size of a fingertip, neither expanding nor shrinking.
Lex immediately realized that this woman was probably using this cursed black mark to track him!
But I wasn't the only one cursed at the time, why did she specifically come for me!
Lex had no time to ponder the woman's motives. He infused the 'Devil May Cry' with spirituality and activated an ability.
Suddenly, golden, illusory flames appeared around Lex's body. They spread densely, not only engulfing the phantoms holding his hands and feet but also surging towards the woman opposite him.
This was the Light of Fire. As soon as it appeared, it immediately purified undead creatures within its range and caused a certain amount of damage to other types of targets.
The phantoms holding Lex's hands and feet were completely purified in the golden flames. They lost their form and returned to nothingness.
Across the room, the bewitchingly beautiful woman with long, straight black hair let out a silent shriek. A cold wind suddenly swept through the room, preventing the illusory golden sea of fire from advancing further and gradually making it disappear.
Lex, having regained his mobility, immediately uttered a word in ancient hermes: "Holy Oath."
He immediately felt a warm power flowing through his body and limbs. His strength, agility, flame damage, and holy damage all received a temporary boost.
Lex immediately raised his hand, and a flaming spear condensed in his palm. The scorching white tip of the spear caused the room's temperature to rise sharply. Bending his waist and swinging his arm, Lex threw the spear, watching it fly towards the alluring woman.
Just as it was about to strike, a gap, Before and after penetration, suddenly opened in the woman's chest. The flaming spear passed through her body, leaving her unharmed.
The flesh dress on the woman's body shot out viscous, blood-colored liquids. They entangled the flaming spear, preventing it from flying out of the room or igniting the walls.
Those blood-colored liquids covered the spear, constantly sizzling, emitting green smoke, and a foul odor.
Even so, the power of this flaming spear was visibly depleting until it dissipated into nothingness.
At the same time, the woman raised her hands towards Lex. Her ten fingers first swelled at the base, then suddenly burst, sending broken fingers flying towards Lex like bullets.
Lex lunged forward and rolled. The woman's 'bullets' missed, and the broken fingers exploded, splattering onto the walls, tables, and chairs, corroding blood-filled holes into them.
At this moment, Lex raised his hand and made a grasping motion towards the woman, as if to take something away.
The woman had already turned around, making a gesture as if pushing something open. Behind her, a bronze gate covered in mysterious patterns emerged from the Void. It swayed, creaked, and quietly opened.
Beyond the gate was a pitch-black world. The woman continued the motion of opening the gate, seemingly intending to let the horror from behind it descend into the real world.
Just then.
Her eyes suddenly became blank, and she no longer tried to open the bronze gate. She seemed to lack focus on her surroundings, as if she had lost all vigilance and defense.
Then she heard Lex's voice: "What are you doing? Have you forgotten that I am not your enemy."
This voice seemed to resonate with a thought deep within her. Her eyes flickered, and a brief resistance appeared deep in her heart, then she felt this was a true thought, a thought stemming from her own inner voice.
"Yes, you are not my enemy."
The woman gave up her attack, and the bronze gate disappeared into the Void, allowing Lex to breathe a temporary sigh of relief.
Having dealt with this woman before, Lex knew some of her abilities.
Just now, he had used 'Christie' to steal this woman's 'Spectator' pathway ability.
Lex had stolen 'Hypnosis'. For an opponent he understood well enough, he could steal whatever ability he wanted!
And this was the Hypnosis of a Sequence 5 Dreamwalker, capable of opening the door to the opponent's "mind body," directly modifying consciousness and influencing the subconscious!
Now, Lex had planted the concept of 'friend' in her mind, so he wouldn't be attacked for the time being.
But this woman was not an ordinary Beyonder, nor even human. Lex had little confidence in how long this idea could influence her.
If I made her commit suicide, it would most likely 'wake' her up. In that case...
Lex saw Gabriel, who was just a head on the bed, and suddenly had an idea.
"You will remain on Yedgar Island for the next two days. You will find a place to hide. When you see the Marshal's Residence catch fire, you will rush there urgently, because your true enemy is there."
"Remember what I said. This is the projection of your subconscious, and then forget what I told you. Now you will count down. After ten heartbeats, you will wake up."
After speaking, Lex quietly walked out of the house, quietly went downstairs, and quietly left the hotel.
A moment later, the enchanting and exotic woman's unfocused eyes suddenly regained their sparkle.
She looked around, then picked up the cloak Gabriel had worn. She put the cloak on, covering her flesh dress.
In a quiet, dusty room, Lex exhaled and found a chair to sit on.
This was the residence of the jailer named Magian. He seemed to have already left Yedgar.
Lex composed himself, then checked his entire body, finding that a cufflink was missing.
This was the price of using 'Christie'. Previously, he had lost a button and two soli banknotes.
"All within an acceptable, even negligible, range."
"Now the most important thing is to find a way to deal with that monster that looks like a woman. If I don't deal with her, she will definitely haunt me."
Looking at the black mark on the back of his hand, Lex sighed, then, as he had previously conceived, took out the storm emblem.
He gripped the emblem tightly in his hand, began to radiate his spirituality, and solemnly chanted in Hermes.
"King of the Skies, Emperor of the Seas."
"Lord of the Calamity, God of the Storms!"
"Your follower implores your attention, implores you to notice Yedgar Island, where the evil creature you once destroyed has reappeared."
"Lord of the Calamity, God who controls the storms, I implore you to strike down this enemy fiercely."
This prayer also had another meaning: Come and clean up your mess!
