Chapter 399 - Prison Break

"Don't panic, Butler will solve all problems."

"All we have to do is follow Butler's orders and guard this place, not letting any suspicious person get through."

At the entrance of the dungeon, a Captain with a red headband shouted loudly, trying to calm the dungeon guards and prevent these timid fellows from being scared off their posts.

But he didn't finish speaking when his head suddenly exploded, and his body fell backward, crashing onto the ground, scaring the several Soldiers nearby, who jumped back.

Gunshots continued to ring out from the deep darkness ahead, accompanied by flashing gunfire, and the several Soldiers at the dungeon entrance were successively hit and fell to the ground.

A moment later, a figure appeared; it was Lex, holding Blood Praise.

He had doused the villa with fish oil and set it on fire. To avoid attracting the attention of the demigod in the manor, Lex had honestly used matches to light the fire, rather than his own abilities.

After the villa caught fire, the three-in-one Ancient Evil quickly arrived and, as Lex expected, alerted the Puppet in the villa.

As soon as the demigod, suspected to be from the Rose School of Thought, appeared, he immediately targeted the Evil, and the two sides began to fight.

At that time, Lex hid in a corner and secretly rejoiced when he saw the Woman entangled by his cloak.

He was glad he used hypnotic suggestion to lure this monster over; otherwise, under the demigod's strange abilities, he might not even have had the chance to summon a 'Projection' before being killed.

The Puppet's ability to control inanimate objects was truly bizarre. Facing such a high-sequence powerhouse, his clothes could turn into the opponent's weapons at any moment, making it impossible to guard against.

Lex didn't observe the battle for too long. As soon as he saw the two sides fighting, he immediately headed to the dungeon.

Now.

After smoothly dealing with a few guards, he casually picked up a corpse and rushed down the stone steps, but just as he was about to enter the dungeon, he threw the corpse out.

At the same time, Lex pounced to the ground and rolled.

Bang, bang, bang.

The corpse thrown into the dungeon first attracted the attention of the jailers inside. Two jailers emptied all the bullets from their rifles onto that corpse.

This gave Lex an opportunity, allowing him to shoot and kill the remaining guards while rolling.

By the time he sprang up from the ground, there were no more guards in this dungeon.

A strange, foul odor permeated the dungeon, indicating that the ventilation here was not very good. Thus, the smell of prisoners' excrement, sweat, and the dampness of the underground structure itself were all mixed together.

Lex had to admire that demigod; with his status, he was actually willing to personally supervise the guards in such a place.

If he hadn't been lured out by that Ancient Evil, it would have been as difficult as ascending to heaven to assault a dungeon guarded by a demigod.

On both sides of the dungeon were cells built with rocks and metal bars, each cell crammed with at least five or six men.

At this moment, the 'prisoners' in the dungeon were all huddled in corners, unaware of what was happening outside, and they dared not call for help rashly.

Lex put away his revolver, and crimson flames rose in his hand. With a casual grip, the flames condensed into the shape of a long sword.

Wielding this flaming long sword, he instantly cut open the iron lock of a nearby cell, then pushed. The cell door clanged open.

"Run! Run towards the back of the manor!"

Lex shouted. By now, the front of the manor had become the battlefield of the Evil and the demigod; these people would only be courting death if they went there.

While those people were still in a daze, Lex had already cut open the iron lock of another cell. Only then did the people inside awaken as if from a dream, calling out and scrambling to escape.

They rushed towards the dungeon exit, wanting to escape this troubled place as quickly as possible.

Lex went to the depths of the dungeon. Here, each cell held only one or two people, and these people had their mouths gagged, eyes blindfolded, and hands and feet locked by arm-thick iron chains, preventing them from leaving.

Lex quickly rescued one of them. After the blindfold was removed from that person's eyes, he saw Lex and exclaimed in surprise.

"It's you, Hunter Rayleigh!"

"I remember you, I saw you at the Flying Fish Bar in Damir Port!"

Unfortunately, Lex had no impression of him.

After cutting the iron chains on him with the flaming long sword, Lex patted his shoulder and said, "Hurry, get out of here."

"Okay!"

"Thank you, Mr. Rayleigh, I will remember everything you've done!" The man with very short hair and a scar on his left forehead said emphatically.

Lex then rescued several others. Finally, he found his classmate, the Poet, in a cell.

Removing the cover from Edward's face, Lex winked at him: "Although I'd like to say good morning, your situation doesn't seem to align with the word 'good' at all."

As he spoke, he cut the several iron chains. Edward, now free to move, removed the gag from his mouth and said sincerely, "This is the first time I've thought your face looked so cute."

"You can praise me more; I don't mind at all. But for now, let's get out of here first."

As they emerged from the cell, several screams echoed ahead, followed by gradually brightening firelight.

And those escapees who had turned the corner stopped, retreating in panic. Just then, a figure rushed among the escapees. It was a bronze-skinned man, wearing the military uniform of Yedgar Island. With punches and kicks, several escapees clutched their stomachs, knelt on the ground, vomited incessantly, and couldn't get up.

The man then turned and walked into the dungeon, cracking his neck with soft pops.

Lex saw 'phantom scales' appearing on his skin and immediately knew it was Gander, Yedgar's personal bodyguard.

"I told you."

"As long as you behave, I promise you won't be harmed in any way."

"But now, you've actually escaped, which puts me in a very difficult position."

A voice filled with deep malice rang out. Suddenly, with a whoosh, another figure appeared among the escapees.

It was a middle-aged man with a bloated waist, wearing an overly flamboyant long coat and a helmet with curved bull horns on his head.

He had a handlebar mustache, a stubble-covered chin, and a golden necklace around his neck, with a golden pendant shaped like a skull in the center of a pentagram.

Suddenly, this man's image overlapped with a portrait Lex had once seen.

So he knew who it was.

Yedgar!

The owner of this Sea Island, a dictator possibly backed by the Rose School of Thought!

The malice in Yedgar's eyes was completely undisguised. He stretched out his hand, and one of his fingernails suddenly elongated, turning jet black, reflecting a metallic sheen in the dungeon's firelight.

This fingernail suddenly plunged into the eye of an escapee, and when it was pulled out again, a eyeball was hanging from the claw.
