Returning to the real world, Klein shivered, feeling a bit cold. He made himself a cup of black tea and rubbed the outside of the cup with his hands to warm them.
After taking a small sip, he found some letter paper and a pen, then sat down at his desk.
Picking up the plump fountain pen, Klein thought for a moment before putting it to paper.
'Dear Mr. Azik, it has been a long time since we last contacted. I hope you are doing well.'
After a short greeting, he got straight to the point.
'I have always been curious about Messengers and longed to one day have a Messenger like yours. So, I am taking the liberty of asking for your guidance: what should I do to obtain my own Messenger?'
Klein then wrote a few more things about himself, put the letter into an envelope, and blew Mr. Azik's copper whistle.
Soon, Klein felt a response. He activated his Spiritual Vision and saw the giant white bone Messenger appear before him.
"Please deliver this letter to Mr. Azik."
Klein placed the envelope into the Messenger's hand and watched as the Messenger disintegrated into a fountain of white bones, each one falling into the floor and disappearing.
"He left in such a hurry…"
Looking out the window and seeing that it was still early, Klein let out a breath: "Time to go find that Sanguine."
4:37 PM, South Bridge District, Rose Street.
Wearing a double-breasted long formal suit, Klein removed his semi-tall silk top hat and steadily walked into the not-so-large Harvest Church.
As soon as he entered the church, he immediately saw Father Utravsky, who looked like a giant. The Father was preaching to his followers. Although there were no more than five followers in the church, the Father still maintained a solemn and benevolent expression.
In the church, Klein also saw Emlyn White in a brown clerical robe. The Sanguine looked numb, as if his heart had turned to ash, as he wiped tables and chairs.
Klein smiled and casually walked to a seat, and soon, Emlyn White noticed him.
The Sanguine's death-like face finally showed some expression; his eyes brightened, his chin lifted slightly, and he dropped his rag and sat next to Klein.
"Let me guess, you need my help with something?"
Klein turned his head to look at him, deliberately lowering his voice and chuckling, "Do you have money?"
The Sanguine paused, then proudly said, "Money is one of the things that noble Sanguine lack the least!"
He specifically emphasized the latter.
Klein scoffed, "I have a friend who is selling an item. It's made from the beyonder characteristics of a 'Scarlet Scholar'. You know what a 'Scarlet Scholar' is, right?"
Emlyn also scoffed, "Are you doubting the knowledge of a Sanguine?"
Klein lightly shrugged, "Since you know, then you should understand the value of this item."
"Its abilities are…"
"Its negative effects are…"
After repeating The Chariot's description of the glove's abilities and negative effects, Klein directly said, "For only 10,000 pounds, you can own it."
"When I heard about it, you were the first person I thought of. You are a Sanguine…"
"Sanguine! Sanguine!" Emlyn corrected and emphasized through gritted teeth.
"Anyway, I think it's very suitable for you, and you are a rather 'wealthy' Va… Alright, Sanguine. So I guess you'll probably buy it?" After Klein finished speaking, he pursed his lips and smiled as he looked at Emlyn.
Emlyn opened his mouth, wanting to speak but hesitating. After a few seconds, he cleared his throat twice and said, "Normally, I would be very happy to buy that item."
"As you said, it's very suitable for me. But unfortunately, I just made an investment recently, and financially, for now, I can't afford to buy this item."
"However, I can inquire with those noble Your Excellency; perhaps they would be interested."
"Very good."
Klein immediately nodded and said, "Since you're inquiring anyway, perhaps you could also help me ask if any of the following beyonder materials are available."
"I have a friend who is about to advance, and I want to help him out."
Listening to Klein's words and observing his expression, Emlyn White immediately felt like he had fallen into a trap. He quickly said, "No problem, but I need compensation."
"For beyonder materials, at least 100 pounds; for auxiliary materials, at least 10 pounds. If a mystical item can be successfully traded, I want 200, no, 300 pounds!"
He then proudly said, "After all, whether it's mystical items or beyonder materials, they are certainly not common, nor are they that easy to sell. Otherwise, you wouldn't have come to me for help."
"Deal." Klein smiled, then rattled off the materials he wanted: "The mutated pituitary gland of a Thousand-Faced Hunter, 100 milliliters of its blood, the characteristics of a Human-Skinned Wraith, five strands of Deep Sea Naga hair. If you have any of these materials, you can come to me for a trade."
Seeing Klein agree so readily, the Sanguine couldn't help but feel a bit regretful: Perhaps I should have raised the compensation!
Sea.
Golden Dream.
After dinner, Lex received a hint from The Fool. He prepared a ritual and obtained a chapter of "spiritual world anecdotes" sent by Magician.
Having learned from his previous experience, Lex was not in a hurry to read it all at once this time. He would stop to meditate every three or four minutes, and in this intermittent manner, he finished reading the chapter.
In this chapter, the traveler from the Abraham Family recorded his experience of encountering "Yellow Light" Venithan.
Lex was surprised when he read this; those seven pure lights in the Spirit Realm actually had names!
The owner of the notes, the traveler from the Abraham Family, claimed that when he wandered into the depths of the Spirit Realm, he met an old man wearing a lemon-yellow robe.
The old man's body was semi-transparent, remarkably similar to the surrounding Spirit Realm creatures, but his attitude was unexpectedly benevolent.
This old man was "Yellow Light" Venithan.
Venithan told the traveler from the Abraham Family that his qualities were rationality and adaptability, a symbol of the astrology field, and the corresponding gemstone was emerald.
From this record, it is not difficult to see that the seven pure lights each have their own qualities, are symbols of different fields, and have different corresponding objects.
This made Lex very curious about what qualities the other pure lights possessed.
Moreover, Venithan also mentioned a prophecy from himself.
"Gaze comes from the starry sky, the earth will be torn apart, and everything in the world will cease to exist."
A prophecy made by "Yellow Light" Venithan, the symbol of the astrology field, would surely not be easily ignored by anyone. In the record, Venithan believed that the final Apocalypse would arrive within two hundred years, and by then, all spirits and all things would not be spared!
Upon reading this, Lex's heart sank slightly. Through the Watcher, he already knew of the Apocalypse's existence. And now, the symbol of the astrology field also prophesied this; undoubtedly, this world would eventually face the Apocalypse.
