Many of the Treasure Troves and legends on the sea are almost always set against the backdrop of a ship sunk to the bottom of the sea. Moreover, the death's treasure is inherently linked to the sailing ship named Nether Lord. Therefore, if there truly is a Treasure Trove here, it makes perfect logical sense for it to be submerged deep beneath the sea.
For this reason, Edwina also came to the same conclusion, but she did not immediately verify it.
It was already getting late, and even if they were to dive into the sea for salvage, the lack of light would make it difficult.
Coupled with the fact that the pirates on the Golden Dream had been on edge all day, Iceberg Admiral decided to explore the Sea tomorrow.
That night, Lex summoned the spirit world treasure chest. Following his earlier idea, he had Christie temporarily return to her original oil painting and stored her in the Treasure Chest, to avoid encountering Amon in the ancient ruins and needlessly offering him a meal.
Additionally, Lex took out 'Devil May Cry', because the upcoming exploration involved ruins related to the 'Death'. It was possible they would encounter undead creatures, in which case 'Devil May Cry' would come in handy.
Lex also kept the string puppet. This item could control other creatures, allowing him to experience the 'scene firsthand' through shared senses with the Marionette, without having to personally venture forth during exploration.
The next day.
At dawn, the pirates on the Golden Dream became busy. Lex came to the deck and saw Barrel and Iron Skin inflating a tan leather pouch.
"What is this?" Lex walked over and noticed that this thing was also connected to a straw, looking somewhat like a rudimentary oxygen bag.
"A diving lung. This was invented by Emperor Roselle, a tool for breathing underwater. You don't know?" Danitz held one, introducing it smugly, "Look, it's made from tough cowhide through complex processes. As long as we pump air into it, we can breathe freely in the Sea."
"It's normal that you don't know, after all, it hasn't been widely promoted yet. Across the entire Sea, only our Golden Dream is equipped with such a tool."
"Otherwise, what do you think we rely on to discover so many underwater Treasure Troves in the vast Sea?"
Lex nodded. So it was an invention of Emperor Roselle; that was not surprising. Otherwise, given the industrial level of this world, something like a diving lung would likely not appear for at least several decades, and that's assuming someone invented and created it.
And with Beyonder of the 'Sailor' pathway present, such an item would most likely not be valued or created.
Soon, about ten pirates, equipped with diving lungs and good at swimming, jumped directly from the ship's side into the Sea without even eating breakfast.
Lex also wanted to know the situation in the Sea, so he infused his spirituality into the string puppet and then controlled a white perch swimming nearby.
By controlling this white perch and sharing its senses, Lex was able to 'see' the underwater world.
Under the morning sun, Lex could see that beneath the Sea surface was a colorful world. Various creatures bathed in the bright and warm sunlight, and countless schools of fish, large and small, whose names he didn't know, roamed among the vibrant coral reefs.
Shells, starfish, jellyfish... various Sea creatures moved freely in the Sea. Once pirates diving into the Sea swam past, these creatures would scatter.
The Sea was a breathtakingly beautiful world, its beauty different from that of the land. At this moment, Lex wished he were a Beyonder of the 'Sailor' pathway, so that even without tools, he could personally experience the incredible and wondrous world at the bottom of the Sea.
However, as the white perch continuously descended, Lex already knew that there was no trace of the Nether Lord beneath this Sea area, without waiting for the pirates who had dived to report back.
Furthermore, the bottom of this Sea area was very flat, with no trenches, so the Nether Lord could not have been obscured or fallen into a trench.
Indeed, when the pirates who had dived into the Sea returned one after another, they all reported the same result.
The death god's treasure was not in the Sea.
"If it's not in the sea, where could it be?" Edwina looked at the compass in her hand; no matter which direction she turned, it always pointed to the east side of the Sea.
But just like yesterday, there was nothing on the Sea in that direction.
At this moment, Danitz came nearby: "Captain, then I'll take a few people over there to take a look."
Beside him, Jodeson, dressed in a white shirt, black vest, and a fancy bow tie, chuckled softly: "Danitz, we are not blind."
He meant that there was no need to go and explore the eastern side of the Sea; it could be seen from the Golden Dream that there was nothing there.
"Emperor Roselle once said, what the eyes see is not necessarily true," Danitz said in a reciting tone, "Anyway, it won't take much time, and since we're already here, how can we be reconciled if we don't look for it?"
Jodeson shrugged, a smile playing on his lips, seemingly disdainful of arguing with a stubborn fellow like Danitz.
Edwina had no better idea for the moment, so she nodded: "You take Leyli, and call a few others to go together. If anything seems amiss, return immediately."
"Understood." Danitz responded excitedly, and then gave Jodeson a defiant look before going off to prepare.
A moment later, two small boats were lowered onto the Sea. Lex and Danitz each took a boat, bringing two pirates respectively, and rowed towards the eastern side of the Sea.
Proposing the exploration to the Captain was Danitz's own idea; this time, it was not Lex secretly guiding or pushing him.
As for going to explore with Danitz, Lex didn't object. He also didn't want to just wait on the Golden Dream; doing something was better than doing nothing.
He continued to control the white perch, letting it swim ahead of the two small boats, acting as a sentinel.
The white perch's speed was naturally much faster than the small boats. Before long, Lex, who was sharing senses with his Marionette, suddenly felt a jolt throughout his body.
Danitz, on the adjacent boat, looked at Lex strangely, not knowing what was wrong with him.
Of course, Danitz wouldn't know that through his Marionette, Lex had seen a Sea Island!
A pitch-black Sea Island, seemingly with a volcano, but the volcano no longer seemed to erupt. And on the crater, a black sailing ship was stranded!
At the bow of that ship, there was a white skeleton wearing a golden crown. The skeleton held a scepter tightly in one hand and a Law book in the other. This strange and majestic figurehead reminded Lex of a name: Nether Lord!
But at this moment, the sea surface before him was still empty. Why would the Marionette see that black sea Island and the Nether Lord, stranded in the crater for unknown reasons?
