Chapter 464 - Worry

At this moment, Lex's expression indeed looked grim, because he connected Siril's words to something, something fatal!

He stood up, clearing his throat: "Apologies, I suddenly recalled an important matter I must attend to, so I'll take my leave."

Siril was momentarily stunned, but still rose and said, "I'll see you out."

Under Siril's escort, Lex hastily departed Champagne Manor, and as he walked along the road towards Grand Town, Lex's anxiety intensified.

"If I'm not mistaken, the Abraham Family's Clarence's Gate has probably fallen into the hands of the Feysac Empire, which is why the official government in Town is heavily collecting various gems."

"That should be in preparation for Clarence's Gate to meet the conditions for 'large-scale Teleportation'; after all, that gate likes gems, and the 'conditions' Morse mentioned are very likely this."

"Morse was captured by that Iron-Blooded Knight before, so it's not surprising that the Feysac Empire knows the 'conditions.' Now, they are preparing to use Clarence's Gate for large-scale Teleportation."

"And now, there are many warships anchored near the port, so the Feysac Empire wants to Teleport a navy out. Where do they want to Teleport this navy?"

Lex stopped, taking a sharp breath: "Of course, they're sending the army to the enemy's doorstep!"

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but quicken his pace.

He quickly returned to Town, rented a room, asked the boss for paper and a pen, and swiftly wrote down a concise message.

'During my Sea travels, I heard a piece of news. The Abraham Family possesses an item capable of large-scale Teleportation, and this item may now be in the hands of the Feysac Empire. At this moment, there are signs of the Feysac Empire gathering troops on Sonia Sea.'

He rolled up the paper with the important message and then stuffed it into a glass bottle. Lex took the glass bottle to the port, and at the dock, he observed his surroundings, ensuring that no one would notice him, then Lex threw the bottle into the Sea.

Now, all he could do was wait.

On Yedgar Island, Edward had said that if there was important information, it could be sent via a message in a bottle, thrown into any port or dock, and Black Sail would find a way to retrieve the information.

Lex believed that there would certainly be Black Sail personnel on Sonia Island as well, and they would definitely have spies planted on this Sea Island controlled by the Feysac Empire.

"If nothing unexpected happens, I should be able to meet Black Sail's people tonight."

As for the Golden Dream, Lex didn't need to rush back, because before disembarking, he had already greeted Edwina, and he would be staying on Sonia Island for a few days.

Soon, evening arrived, and Lex, as before, came to the 'Battle Axe Restaurant.' He had just ordered his meal when a sudden flash of inspiration struck him.

Lex looked up, and a figure blurred before his eyes; a man wearing thick winter clothing sat down on the chair beside him.

"This damn weather, if I could, I really wouldn't want to leave the house, wouldn't you agree?"

The man, whose nose was red from the cold, with brownish-yellow hair and deep blue eyes, rubbed his hands and breathed out, smiling at Lex with an air of familiarity: "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Mark Worston."

Then he lowered his voice, leaning forward and saying, "As for you, of course, you're Lieutenant Lex."

Lex's eyes flickered, and he used his finger to write a word on the table: Black Sail?

The man, who called himself Mark Worston, nodded and loudly hailed a waiter passing by: "Hey, Watt, get me a lamb stew with potatoes."

The waiter nodded; it seemed this person had lived in Grand Town for a considerable period.

Perhaps knowing what Lex was thinking, Mark took off his frost-covered hat, patted it, and placed it beside him, saying: "I've lived here for over ten years; I'm a legitimate businessman. I have a wife and a daughter here."

"At the Police Station, my record is impeccable. Of course, my other identity isn't known to many."

"So, Lieutenant, what's this about the wondrous item you mentioned?"

Lex picked up a glass of beer nearby and took a sip: "I don't know the exact name of the item. I heard it's a gate, a gate capable of Teleporting a large number of people and objects, if certain specific conditions are met."

"As far as I know, that item likes gems, and I've heard that recently, the Feysac officials on the Island have been heavily purchasing various gems. And I saw a large number of Feysac warships anchored at the dock, which makes me a little worried."

Mark slapped the table: "Damn it, Watt, can't you get me a drink?"

Then he lowered his voice and said: "For the past week, the Feysac Empire has suddenly been gathering warships on the east side of this Island. I heard they've also built a temporary base there."

"It seems, then, that my worries are about to become reality. I suspect that the Abraham Family's item has fallen into the hands of the Feysac Empire, and they intend to use that gate to Teleport a large number of warships to a certain location." Lex rubbed the rim of his wine glass, his expression grave.

Mark exhaled: "If they Teleport the army to Oak Tree Island in Pritz Harbor, the consequences are unimaginable."

Oak Tree Island in Pritz Harbor is the main base of the Loen Kingdom's navy. If the Feysac Empire's army suddenly appeared, it would definitely catch the Kingdom's navy off guard, and then quickly invade Loen through Pritz Harbor, which would be an absolute disaster!

"So you should warn the military and have them find a way to stop this." Lex drained his beer in a few gulps.

Mark nodded slightly: "I will. Before that, we need more intelligence. Lieutenant Lex, can you infiltrate that temporary base on the east side of Sonia Island?"

"If we have accurate intelligence and know what the Feysac people are really trying to do, our actions will be more targeted."

Lex gently tapped the table: "I will try. Can you contact the Captain for me? Perhaps I will need support."

Mark smiled slightly: "You don't need to worry about that; I've already done so. The Wavebreaker should arrive at Sonia Island in the next two days; they will be your strongest backing."

Lex put down his glass: "Then do you know the exact location of that temporary base?"

Mark shook his head and said: "I'm just a businessman, and this clearly involves military secrets; it's impossible for me to know. However, I do know that for the past two days, the Town has been continuously transporting supplies there."

"So I think, the Town Chief should know the exact location."

"Is that so."

Lex thought for a moment and said: "Then, I'll pay a visit to the Town Chief later."

At this moment, his ordered dishes arrived, and the food emitted a steaming aroma, making Lex temporarily forget the cold outside and those troublesome problems.
