Chapter 478 - The Ninth Law

"Yes, it's already unstoppable. After what happened tonight, Shevic will definitely go to the base and won't carelessly stay outside anymore, even if he has an angel's protection."

Lex echoed the Admiral's words, looking at Amyrius: "If I were Shevic, I would even act preemptively tomorrow to avoid other accidents."

Amyrius nodded gravely: "That is indeed a possibility."

"But even so, it doesn't mean we can't do anything."

The blonde secretary Lueran said coldly: "Our operation failed tonight. You also said the Feysac people will be on high alert, and they might even act preemptively tomorrow. May I ask what else we can do?"

Lex ignored him and looked at Amyrius: "Your Excellency, Admiral, I want to infiltrate the enemy's base. Last time when I disguised myself and sneaked into the base, I saw that the Feysac warships were docked along the coast, forming a continuous line."

"If we can set fire to the enemy's warships, we can also disrupt their plans."

Amyrius was slightly moved: "Do you know what you're saying? Do you know what it would mean if your whereabouts were exposed?"

"I know this is very risky, and I know that if it fails, I'm afraid it will be very difficult for me to escape."

"But as long as there's even a one in ten thousand chance, I want to try. Your Excellency, Admiral, my home is in Loen, and I want to protect it." Lex looked at Amyrius with sincere eyes.

After a moment of silence, Amyrius said: "Lieutenant Lex, regardless of success or failure, your efforts will be recognized by the Kingdom, and your contributions will appear on your record."

"I permit you to infiltrate the base. Go and do your best."

"Additionally…"

Amyrius took out a dark golden Charm. It had symbolic patterns like the 'Sword of Judgment' and dense magical markings, giving it a profound and understated feel, like a legal code.

Seeing this Charm, Secretary Lueran's eyes widened, as if he couldn't believe the Admiral would take it out.

Amyrius said calmly: "It's called the 'Ninth Law'. I made it using my own blood, an ancient legal code from the Fourth Epoch, and a Royal '0'-level sealed artifact."

"By using it, you can impose necessary restrictions on a target, forcing him to endure extremely unfavorable conditions. I hope it can help you successfully complete tonight's mission and escape safely."

The Admiral said solemnly: "Because I want you to return it to me personally."

With that, Amyrius placed the Charm in Lex's hand.

Lex was stunned for a moment, then a strong surge of pleasant surprise rose within him. Although Amyrius said he wanted it returned, the Charm's effect was very practical and powerful, and it was an item made by a demigod. Even against Shevic, it should be effective.

But more importantly, Amyrius giving him this Charm clearly showed his approval and appreciation for his performance tonight, and his performance just now.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have lent Lex this Advanced Charm.

This meant Lex's 'performance' just now was relatively successful. The reason he was so proactive was partly because he genuinely didn't want the flames of war to burn within Loen's borders, but also partly due to some personal motives.

He hoped to gain Amyrius's appreciation and build a connection with a powerful figure in the Kingdom, an Upper-level, which could pave the way for his future development.

He wanted to develop his own network and channels, so that when his wings were fully grown, he could leave his adoptive father's family and establish himself!

"Your Excellency, Admiral, I will definitely return it to you personally." Lex gripped the Charm and said solemnly.

Due to time constraints, Lex put away the Charm and left the warehouse.

Amyrius then said to Mark: "Notify Lieutenant Colonel Ken Angus, tell him that the Feysac people's actions might be brought forward, and they need to return tomorrow."

Mark nodded and also left the warehouse to Rayleigh the message.

Taking a small boat back to Sonia Island, Lex landed on a secluded shallow beach, then secretly returned to the Town, back to the warehouse where he had previously hidden.

As he entered the warehouse, his spiritual intuition was stirred, and he looked towards a row of shelves on the left. Behind the shelves, Kardashian's figure outlined itself in the air.

"How was it?" Lex asked.

Kardashian glanced at him before reluctantly saying: "That demigod, and the Dawn Paladin who escaped the manor earlier, my little ones saw them both heading to the temporary base on the east side of the Sea Island."

"They really did go back to the base."

Lex said: "We're going too."

Kardashian's amber eyes flickered: "You can't keep increasing the difficulty of me protecting you."

Lex gave a dry laugh: "Believe me, tonight will only have thrills without danger."

"That demigod prayed to their royal angel, but we are still alive and well, which means he was acting at the time; he bluffed us."

"If their angel was truly on Sonia Island, we would have been buried at sea by now. So, at most, we will be facing one demigod."

"We might not be able to defeat a demigod, but in a place like the base, with its mixed personnel, unless the other party has the audacity to destroy the entire base, even if my whereabouts are exposed, I am confident I can escape."

"Furthermore, he probably wouldn't expect us to dare infiltrate the base after raiding Golden Spring Manor, especially since he is currently in the base."

"This is called a psychological blind spot. The more confident people are in their own strength, the more they will believe that enemies dare not approach the place they are guarding."

Kardashian looked at Lex for a moment, then said: "Perhaps you would achieve greater success following the 'Spectator' pathway than your current one."

"Good thing I'm not fickle-minded, otherwise I'd be tempted right now."

Lex patted his chest: "Come on."

Kardashian's body suddenly 'melted', transforming into a mass of black viscous liquid, wiggling to Lex's feet, then flowing upwards, covering Lex's clothes.

Lex left the warehouse and Grand Town.

By the time he arrived at the base, it was already past midnight.

Hidden behind a clump of grass on a high slope, Lex observed the base below. There were still lights in the base, especially the row of warships on the distant sea, with the decks of each warship illuminated by lights.

Lex whispered: "I have a plan. Let's act separately. You use your dream-altering ability to infiltrate the dreams of some mid-level officers and implant this idea…"

After a series of instructions, the clothes on Lex's body 'boiled' as the black, viscous liquid left his body, transforming into a dark carpet that parted the grass, flowed down the hillside, and headed towards the base below.

Lex took out the 'Thousand-Faced Traveler' mask and put it on, then wiped it across his face. His entire body grew a few centimeters taller, transforming into Shevic's appearance. He then took out an illusion Charm, causing his clothes to change to match Shevic's image.

"Let's begin the operation."
