These fleshy bodies gradually transformed once more, all returning to that initial original form, unified with one another. However, the distinct voices remained, only they had completely discarded individual ego and were now controlled by something much larger.
"Silver King, you will become a part of me."
"Your genes, your power, your memories will become mine!"
Six billion different voices sounded simultaneously, overlapping with an amplitude great enough to tear the eardrums of any mortal creature that heard it.
Fortunately, the person standing here was Asahi. If it had been anyone else, even a Cursed Child, they would not have even had the qualification to stand before Genesis.
Asahi remained silent the entire time, and did not continue the useless actions he performed earlier.
Based on the logical analysis of his previous actions, Genesis did not believe he was afraid.
As expected, Asahi began to move, but he did not make any complex movements, nor did he yell or shout to show his might.
He merely... took a step.
But with just this simple step, the synchronized minds of all of Genesis's fleshy bodies sounded a red alert.
It was not because of the result from information analysis, nor was it based on any previous logical deduction.
It was all due to a type of instinct, a type of instinct that all living creatures possess. It was the instinct felt when facing a beast, a predator.
When every single cell was trembling, screaming for the host to flee. Existing as one of the most primal and purest fears.
No words came out of his mouth, because they were unnecessary.
Asahi lifted his head, then his entire body vanished, beginning the most intense melee in the history of this world.
Tokyo Area.
This place was once again suffering an invasion by the Gastrea. However, this time it was much more severe than the last, with even a Monolith having been destroyed.
Yet, the culprit that caused the Monolith's collapse was not a Stage Five Gastrea, but merely a Stage Four Gastrea.
Its title: Aldebaran.
Although it was only a Stage Four Gastrea, its reputation was by no means ordinary.
For over a decade, Aldebaran existed as a formidable general under the command of the Stage Five Gastrea, Taurus. After Taurus was destroyed, the Gastrea legion surrounding Aldebaran still did not diminish. This was because, unlike other Stage Four Gastrea which could only passively attract lower-stage Gastrea, Aldebaran could actively control lower-stage Gastrea using its pheromone regulation ability.
This ability meant that the Gastrea surrounding Aldebaran did not simply rampage like a natural disaster. Instead, they all operated like an army with the supreme purpose of protecting and obeying Aldebaran's commands, much like worker bees to a queen bee.
However, that was not Aldebaran's only ability.
There was another ability, its most terrifying one, whose threat level even surpassed the first: the ability to secrete large amounts of Varanium-corroding substance.
This meant that if the integrity of the Varanium was insufficient, Aldebaran could destroy any Varanium shield.
The Monoliths were no exception.
On the first day of the invasion, Aldebaran clung to Monolith #32. It continuously spewed its Varanium-corroding substance, punching a hole through the entire defense system. Immediately, it controlled its entire Gastrea legion to enter the Tokyo area and engage the security forces, forcing Tokyo to shift its focus to preventing the Gastrea invasion, rather than eliminating Aldebaran.
The situation was so critical that even Civil Security was deployed to the front line.
Rentaro, though now alone without his Initiator beside him, still possessed peak combat strength.
However, when facing a real war, even Rentaro became too small. War was like a giant grinding mill, where the participants in a war were merely small beans poured into it to be ground. Rentaro was only slightly larger than the other beans.
Although Rentaro was far stronger than before, as he killed the hundredth Gastrea, he gradually became exhausted. His entire body was covered in wounds.
Therefore, Rentaro executed a bold move. He plunged into the chaos alone, amidst a situation with no aid, no teammates, single-handedly slashing his way directly towards Aldebaran, intending to end this war by himself.
"Aaaaaa!!!"
Rentaro seemed to be fighting to the point of madness. He roared like a beast, darting straight through the Gastrea army at terrifying speed. His Justice Eye (Nghĩa nhãn)—the mechanical upgrade replacing Rentaro's lost eye—was a high-intensity analysis machine. It allowed Rentaro to analyze nearly all battlefield movements, coupled with his accelerated neural processing capability.
This allowed Rentaro to move extremely fast without being struck by the Gastrea. The Justice Eye spun furiously, helping Rentaro grasp every slightest movement.
But sometimes the sheer density of the Gastrea was so thick that he had no choice but to fight, as there was no path forward.
Because the Civil Security corps and self-defense forces were actively drawing the attention of the Gastrea legion, Rentaro's journey of killing through the Gastrea, though still extremely dangerous, could be considered smooth.
Finally, Rentaro reached Monolith #32, the place where Aldebaran was clinging.
Upon arriving, Rentaro saw firsthand the horrific consequences Aldebaran had caused. A colossal metal mass 1.6 kilometers tall had been hugely corroded. In the corroded areas, the Varanium had turned from black to white, as if it had lost all its original properties. The solid metal had become porous, brittle, and crumbly like wood dust.
Seeing this sight, Rentaro knew this Monolith could not be saved. Even if Aldebaran withdrew, its collapse was only a matter of time.
But if he killed Aldebaran, they could at least buy time until a new Monolith was created. Meanwhile, the remaining Varanium parts could still provide some support for defense.
Most importantly, he had to kill Aldebaran first!
Acting on his thought, Rentaro launched himself up. Facing a monster with a gigantic size reaching tens of meters, Rentaro was small like an insect. But that very small insect swung its arm, and a punch blew up Aldebaran's head.
"Success!"
Rentaro was overjoyed.
But the subsequent scene turned Rentaro's joyful expression into horror.
Right on Aldebaran's head, the part that Rentaro had crushed, flesh buds began to grow from the ruined section at an unbelievably rapid speed. Just a few seconds later, a complete head had sprouted to replace the pulverized one.
Aldebaran's third ability: Tier V Regeneration.
Rentaro knew he was in big trouble.
