The decision to take lunch on the Alpha floor wasn't random. Nobody wanted to deal with Evangeline's presence, and I knew without question that she would position herself near Collin to monitor his every move.
Evangeline had to make certain Collin wouldn't discover any connections, which meant she would seize every chance to watch him closely and feed information back to Natalia.
Livia and I were discussing trial preparations as we entered the main dining hall the following morning when every conversation came to an abrupt stop. Looking up, I met the furious expressions of my Squad members and instantly understood that someone had been causing problems.
"What's happening?" I demanded, approaching the nearest table where several Squad members sat.
"Apologies, Captain. Philip instructed us not to disturb you, but he had to escort Ralph and Katrina to the medical wing," one replied while Nancy released a low growl.
