Chapter 8 - The Viridian Power and the Aura Power!

Among the four base stats, an average adult only scored about ten points each—but Ash's Intelligence was sixteen, and his Charisma, an astonishing twenty-five.

Sure, that alone was worth celebrating—who wouldn't want to be both smart and charming? But what truly made his heart race wasn't those stats. It was the line beneath them, glowing faintly on the system panel.

Talents: Viridian Power (Unawakened), Aura Power (Unawakened)

Two extraordinary powers.

Ash blinked in disbelief. "So… I actually have both?"

Even though they were still unawakened, the words alone were enough to make his blood boil with excitement. He wasn't just a Trainer-in-the-making anymore—he was someone with supernatural potential.

In his previous life, he'd been an ordinary person. But here? He carried within him two of the rarest forces in the entire Pokémon world.

And these weren't just fancy names—he knew exactly what they meant.

In the original series, the Aura Power was something only a few people possessed—like Sir Aaron, the hero from Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, and of course, the original Ash Ketchum himself.

He remembered it vividly:

In The Keystone Pops! episode, Ash was described as having the same Aura as an ancient Aura Guardian when using Pikachu's power.

In Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! he had literally used Aura to locate a lost Riolu and communicate with it telepathically.

And in Caring for a Mystery! in the Journeys series, he had resonated with a Riolu egg at the Vermilion Pokémon Center—an egg no one else could hatch—because his Aura reached out and called to it.

But it was in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew that his Aura abilities were fully revealed.

Back then, Ash and his friends had arrived at the grand city of Rota, just in time for a festival honoring the legendary Aura Guardian, Sir Aaron.

Ash had entered the Aura Guardian Tournament, fought through every round, and emerged victorious—earning the title of Aura Guardian for the festival itself.

During the ceremony, dressed in the same blue-and-gold robes that once belonged to Sir Aaron, holding the ancient Staff of the Guardian, Ash's latent Aura connected with the crystal sealed inside.

And then—Lucario awakened.

Lucario had been sealed within that staff for centuries, and when it opened its eyes, it saw not Sir Aaron—but Ash. The same face. The same spirit. The same pulse of pure Aura flowing through his soul.

That was proof enough.

Ash Ketchum—both then and now—was a descendant of Sir Aaron's bloodline. His Aura was pure, unbroken, and powerful.

So when the system showed "Aura Power," Ash wasn't surprised—it made sense. What did shock him was the line above it: Viridian Power.

That one was… rare. Almost forgotten.

"Viridian Power…" Ash murmured, eyes narrowing slightly.

Unlike psychic powers, the Dragon Force, or Aura, the Viridian Power was something far less talked about in the anime or games. But as a hardcore Pokémon fan who had consumed every episode, manga, and movie, Ash remembered it well.

It was the gift of the Viridian Forest—the mysterious, lush sanctuary that pulsed with life. Children born near it sometimes received its blessing, granting them a subtle, miraculous connection to Pokémon.

Unlike Aura, which was linked to combat and sensing emotions, Viridian Power was a gift of healing, empathy, and growth.

Those blessed by the forest could understand the hearts of Pokémon—feel their joy, pain, and fear without words. Some could even heal injuries, purify corrupted energy, or strengthen a Pokémon's body and spirit.

It was said to reshape a Pokémon's potential, refining its inner strength and awakening hidden abilities.

In other words, while Aura was the power of warriors, Viridian Power was the power of life itself.

And it was rare. So rare that even in his previous life, Ash could count the known users on one hand.

Lance—the Dragon Master, born of ancient lineage, was rumored to possess traces of it alongside his Dragon Force.

Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, was suspected of wielding a twisted form of it—his ability to raise Pokémon to unnatural strength perhaps connected to this mysterious gift.

And in the manga, Yellow of Viridian Forest, the "Viridian Child," had the purest expression of it—able to heal, sense, and even amplify the strength of Pokémon through sheer will and compassion.

Most fans believed the Viridian Power was an ancient miracle of the forest, a blessing granted only to a handful of souls in every few million births.

It wasn't something inherited by blood or unlocked by training. It was pure luck—divine chance.

Ash chuckled softly. "So… the old me had Aura, and this me has Viridian Power too. Guess I hit the jackpot."

His mind raced through possibilities. If he could combine the empathy and healing of Viridian Power with the precision and sensing ability of Aura, then one day—

He might reach a level no Trainer in history had ever touched.

Aura could locate and communicate with Pokémon across distances. Viridian could nurture and heal them, helping them reach new evolutionary heights.

Together, they formed a perfect balance: connection and care.

Still, Ash couldn't help but laugh to himself. "But man… talk about gacha luck. Millions of kids born near the Viridian Forest, and I'm the one who pulls the ultra-rare."

He thought of it like a Pokémon gacha roll. Some people spent their whole lives with a 99% chance of failure. And here he was, pulling the one-in-a-million reward.

Whether fate or cosmic coincidence, it didn't matter.

He clenched his fists, excitement burning in his chest.

With the Aura of Sir Aaron's bloodline and the blessing of the Viridian Forest flowing through him, he wasn't just any Trainer-in-the-making. He was destined to change the world of Pokémon.

Ash Ketchum, the boy from Pallet Town—

The child of Aura and Viridian alike.
