Chapter 1 - Twilight System?!

Min-Ho took a sip of his favorite coffee, abandoning all thoughts of work.

"Ha… I finally have money to do nothing but sleep and eat!" Min-Ho muttered, excitement barely contained.

Starting with nothing and finally achieving something,

Min-Ho was feeling the pleasure of life.

He never had time to play games or enjoy life like others, only having few friends, no leisure, only study and finally work.

'Hyung do you see? I'm perfectly happy now,'

Min-Ho laughed alone brushing away his loneliness but instead looked at the games in front of him.

Now, being a thirty years old man, he would finally live his life to the fullest. So much so that his apartment was spotless and organized, and his table overflowed with games and food.

"To think I'd get to live like this for the rest of my life…" His eyes grew watery, and snot dripped from his nose.

In just a moment his mood changed.

But just as he was about to indulge himself.

His vision blurred. His breath grew heavy. His limbs felt strangely weak.

'Ackk…'

'A fucking heart attack?!'

Min-Ho immediately thought he grabbed at the table leaning for support.

With few minutes left before passing out the last attempt to survive kicked in.

He tried grabbing his phone to ask for help.

But it was already too late.

{Twilight System Processing... }

{The Host:Yoon Min-Ho will now be teleported to survive in the Azure Sect of the:Ancient Land One of the Realm In Thousand Peaks}

Min-Ho blinked, finding himself in a smooth white tiled floor.

Floating before him was a strange panel.

"Now choose…" The voice sounded cold and impatient.

Min-Ho tried processing what's happening in front of him. Reflecting on his face he saw that he was in a teenager body.

"The hell?! It's seems this body is only a seventeen–year–old boy..."

His clothes are quite dirty and was like that of a beggar he have a bit of charm, his black eyes and long black hair tied up in a pony tail synchronized perfectly.

He shifted his gaze once more into the three panels before him.

Time itself seemed frozen, allowing him to decide.

Below the empress's throne sat four elders.

[Time Limit]

[30... 29... 28...]

He gulped.

As the countdown ticked away, he made his choice.

Min-Ho nervously selected the first option, relying on nothing but basic game logic despite never playing games.

The option with the best reward obviously.

His body moved on its own. Before he knew it, only a cloth remained around his crotch.

The elder's expressions twisted instantly.

"This bastard must die today! Such insolence!"

"This beggar have no shame! Please allow us to take care of this boy and execute him!"

They looked at Min-Ho killing intent soared to such extent and more than that.

Min-Ho felt like his body was surrounded with sharp swords ready to cut him in pieces.

The empress looked like a graceful young girl with long dark hair and glowing eyes.

She wears a detailed gold accessories with hanging ornaments and a light veil covering half of her face.

Her robe is white with gold floral patterns, and her sleeves are wide and flowing. Her hands are gently placed in the throne.

Her face is simply too beautiful and ethereal that Min-Ho can't express it with words.

But at the same time she looked young, too young to be exact.

"Would you care to explain yourself?" Her voice even colder this time.

Min-Ho bowed, slamming his head against the floor.

"This is my clan's tradition of apology. It may seem improper, but I beg for your forgiveness."

"I also feel unworthy of the mission you are giving."

"So you refuse my mercy?"

An overwhelming pressure filled the palace.

'Erghh–'

Min-Ho groaned as he was crushed further into the floor.

"Do you really think I give a care in your tradition?"

"If you can't accept what I offered..."

She paused for a moment.

"You will be sent to the underground prison for one week."

The elder didn't say anything but the dissatisfaction in their eyes are palpable.

"But my lady, he just tried to stole one of our artifacts are you sure you don't want an immediate execution?"

The empress scoffs.

"He would die in the underground prison anyway." She muttered coldly.

"Consider this as my final act of mercy."

Though the elders remained quiet, their dissatisfaction was clear. Guards seized Min-Ho and dragged him away.

Min-Ho's eyes twitched.

"What a mess…"

Should he truly consider himself lucky now?

He spent his whole life studying without a shred of enjoyment. And just when he reached the peak of comfort

He was tossed into this absurd world.

His heart boiled in anger just thinking about it.

But the empress's face surfaced in his mind, leaving him conflicted.

"But honestly I've never seen such beauty… even Earth's models don't compare," he muttered inwardly.

Once outside the palace, three other handcuffed individuals awaited them.

"Dammit, it's you that fucking beggar?! It's your damned fault we got caught!" shouted a burly tattooed man.

His oppressive aura only stoked Min-Ho's fury.

"You buffoon shut the hell up! Do you think I care?!" Min-Ho snapped.

His current mood was not good, since he will now be tossed in an unknown place when he should be enjoying luxury right now.

The guards and bandits freeze at the sudden outburst.

Min-Ho's temples throbbed, face flushed, veins bulging.

A lifetime of suppressed frustration finally erupted.

...

Meanwhile, the empress sighed, rubbing her pale white temples.

The trivial matter with that beggar was finally concluded. She still didn't know why she had given it so much attention since there's much more problems ahead.

"So, how fares our sect?" she asked, tapping her delicate fingers against the throne.

"Elder Chen?"

"Yes, my lady." He replied. "Our funds continue to decline. Our financial state worsening by the day…"

"The Sky Pavilion Sect will visit soon for the sect competitions. Preparations must be made."

"It's only two months away…"

His tone was weary and bleak.

The Azure Sect was in crisis.

Only the empress held it together against mounting pressure.

"My lady, it's an competition among the fourth-generation outer disciples… yet our strongest is only a second-rate disciple.

"It's a competition where the other sects will evaluate the new generations among sects to make the rankings."

"No exceptional recruits appeared in this generation."

His voice turned even heavier.

"It's fine." The empress replies

"I will find a way."

It didn't take long for her to dismiss them with a wave of her hand.

...

Though restrained by a first-rate disciple, Baek San the burly man gathered qi in his palm to secretly attack Min-Ho.

But before he could strike, he suddenly coughed blood.

A twisted stabbing pain tore through him.

He was confused and immediately his qi scattered.

"Huh… qi deviation…?" He muttered.

The restraining disciple grew furious.

"You bandits truly have no shame! Already captured yet still trying to attack?!"

Immediately Baek San was slapped to the face making him groan in pain.

‎The other two bandits gulped nervously.

"B-Baek San, are you alright?" One asked.

"Do I look alright?" Baek San snorted as he continued to cough more blood.

Why now of all times qi deviation would suddenly appear. Baek San couldn't help but ask to himself.

When Min-Ho mind finally calm down he saw something about the man head making him perplexed.

[+1 Regression]

He was rather confused in what it meant.

Min-Ho watched Baek San with amusement.

Everyone's attention was on the bandits.

He didn't understand everything, but what he read earlier seemed true.

Baek San had harbored ill intent and now suffered the consequences.

He smile mockingly and slowly raised his hand.

Min-Ho showed Baek San a middle finger, with the most taunting smile a person could have.

"Y-you…" Veins bulged on Baek San's face he no longer cared even if his qi is not controlled.

Qi formed in his hand.

"Huh… so this world really has powers…"

"You bastard!"

Before Baek San could strike, guards pinned him down.

Using martial arts during qi deviation and being interrupted only worsened the backlash.

So much so that Baek San fainted on the spot.
