Chapter 21 - The Deliberate Mission

The explorers refer to members of a notorious league, Explorers of Heaven, whose strength rivals the greatest league to ever grace the Elysian Cosmos—Aurora's of the Sun.

Explorers of Heaven have been inherited throughout generations and still exist as a league in this current generation of Recollection of Age, which started nine hundred and thirty-two years ago.

This league was formed 100 years ago, and the members are unknown. They have never been known, yet their history is tales spread throughout all realms. They are religious, believing in the Eight Phthartic and leave weeping bloody souls like dust in battles they engage in. The people they fight always make it out alive, yet their sanity is left behind.

Another known fact of Explorers of Heaven is that they are backing Great Night, the creator of Crystalline Rock. This causes them to clash with Voyager Seekers occasionally.

Voyager Seekers' core members are young, yet all nine are proficient, each retaining their ignited seven Chronicle Points. They crafted their very own relic in the stars of 10 coordinates of the star system and effectively honed their personal power, gaining the recognition of being Genius of Lore by the heavenly sages.

They aren't a group formed for justice, but ideals and honor. Power without hardship or effort is pathetic to them. It lacks the strength of determination and courage of desire. Therefore, most Voyager Seekers' missions and objectives are primarily connected to their ideology in life.

"This one has successfully raided two realms. The power it gained is from mercury and mars," Czar says solemnly, his voice echoing in the core members of Voyager Seekers minds. "It's been cursed with bad luck by the God of Prophecy, so its ray blast is useless. The only thing you really need to watch out for is its touch. If by some miracle it touches you, you know the drill, cut off the limb immediately. I suggest you finish it with one attack."

Ishaan nods affirmatively, steps pushing him forward up the tower. "Manon and Czar will search for that giant in Raiden's vision. Akira, you draw its attention and leave the rest to me. Once the Obit Evolution falls, Ezra, notify us of any side invasions."

The tech expert, Silent Wisdom, makes a sound of acknowledgment.

"Wait what?!" Akira furrows his brows. Frustration creeps into his voice. "I want to play with it."

Everyone groans, excluding Ishaan and Akira.

"Can I at least go for a few rounds? Please, my brother from another holy mother." Weather Singer asks Ishaan pleadingly, jumping in his path enthusiastically, giving him a puppy dog look, knowing he can see him despite the gray blindfold.

"Sure."

Akira's face immediately brightens up with a grin, his eyes shining in excitement. From their locations, the others shake their heads helplessly.

"He fucking spoils Akira, I swear," Manon complains to Hazel, the Voyager Seekers Navigator. "Watch his actions cause us to pay extra tribute for this realm's land."

The older female spares the healer a glance before focusing on her task of flying the spacecraft.

"Where are you two?" Iskra asks. "Everyone else is on board Universal Raider."

"Akira is changing his celestial weapon. We'll be there in under an hour," replies Enigmatic Poet.

Celestial weapons are inanimate gods that Ophanim wield in the form of potent weapons. Every soul upon graduating from Lightless Institute is appointed one while those in fourth or fifth year can be permitted one temporarily to test which one they wish to claim, but they need a document paper signed by all pillars to borrow a celestial weapon.

"Lord Ishaan, are you sure Akira should fight it?" Manon presses. "If we damage property in any realm or land, then the person of destruction must pay. What if he destroys the corpse's recess?"

"She does have a point," Czar says. "A customary duty for Ophanim's is collecting Orbit Evolution corpses recess to fuel the evermore. If we complete the mission flawlessly, it'll boost the currency earned from these missions. We are Cherubim and one of the fortunate leagues to be able to indulge in the life of an Ophanim while not of that class status yet."

"Yeah," Raiden agrees.

"If we're really lucky we can come across a rare Orbit Evolution and collect condensed daylight to expand our Animation Threads," Akira chimes in. "Now that would be a fun mission."

"No, we should avoid coming across a rare one or there could be significant casualties," Hazel chides. "Ishaan, was this the only way to enter Uranus?"

"Yes," Enigmatic Poet says firmly. "That realm is desperate for aid, but despite this they won't allow anyone to land unless it's necessary, and even then, it's only one person. I had to make a situation where they would need to separate their caution from logic to survive."

After stating this, he cuts his mind off from communication via telepathy, annoyance brimming in his chest. Their mission: eliminate the Orbit Evolution destined to descend in Uranus.

Orbit Evolution's, creatures born from shooting stars, are deemed monstrous enemies to all, carrying celestial status equal to divine beings and formidable strength that rivals Ophanim. They wander Elysian Cosmos like wild monsters, invading realms and devouring anything in sight. They manifest in a realm they feel the easiest to feed on and leave unharmed.

The commission center that hands out missions tallies the waves of energy these creatures rattle throughout the cosmos with an advanced item known as Mankind Eye, predicting the appearances of Orbit Evolution's.

To investigate Celestial Overseer's vision in secrecy, they need to head to Uranus under the guise of saving the civilization of giants from a low rank Orbit Evolution. Giants can defend against the creature by themselves, but they wish to minimize the damage to their world. Therefore, not only did he plan for the invasion, with his connection to the current pope, Ishaan managed to convince Orpheus to let him and his league handle it.

The rest of Voyager Seekers, except Akira and Iskra, disagree with his actions, but accept them, choosing to put their faith in the trust built between them over their moral values.

Weather Singer pushes open the door to the colossal chamber of the Planetary Armory, its pale stone walls soaring upward, with pedestals carved in the shape of moons that hover from the floor, each cradling a category of weapons.

The duo stride across the polished black marble floor veined red in spiraling motifs of constellations, wings, and horns. Divine energies suffuse the room; a palpable hum of power mingled in the cool air.

Planetary Armory is located on the top floor of one of the towers, the one nearest to the training orb. Different from the training rooms in the villa dormitory that focus on physical improvement and mental development, the training orb is used for duels and aid in process, all years from first to fifth point out each other's flaws and help each other improve.

Rows of weapons racks are elaborately arrayed on the walls, ranging from swords glistening with thin flames, bows strung with threads of pure golden liquid, spears crowned with an essence of a blue light, hammers in the shade of the darkest night sky, daggers lined up in various sizes, a few with teeth like blades, floating maces and shields with halos, and axes with inner lightning sizzling. Displayed upright are guns crackling with energy and some emanating a cold mist.

Uninterested in any of the celestial weapons, Ishaan senses Akira twirling a hammer in both hands, debating between one that can turn into a flaming spear and one that can absorb the fragment lights in the sky and shoot out rays of godly beams when employed.

After selecting one, Weather Singer stores the weapon into a pocket void, which is installed in the space of a person's Chronicle Points, and it gradually expands depending on the ignited process. It is not until the last semester of seekers' year that they learn how to store items in a void pocket.
