Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Izuku woke up before his alarm, excitement bursting in his chest. He slipped on his shoes quietly, trying not to wake his mom, and stepped out into the chilly dawn air.

"Yeah… I'm so excited," he whispered to himself as he started jogging toward the beach. "Today I'm going to get supernatural power for the first time in my life… just you wait, Kacchan. I'm going to catch up real quick."

His heart hammered with anticipation.

This is it. The day Deku becomes Deku.

Dagobah Beach — 4:30 AM

The beach was silent except for the waves and the faint cry of distant seagulls. Izuku looked around, scanning the horizon.

Where is All Might?

A loud voice shook the sand.

"WATASHI GA KITA!"

"All Might!" Izuku grinned wide. "Now tell me—how are you going to turn me into some super powerful hero with your quirk? I'm gonna be the first quirkless hero in the whole world!"

All Might blinked in confusion.

"Young man…"

He coughed violently—blood splattering—and steam burst around him before he shrank into his skeletal form.

"All Might! Are you okay?!"

"Ah—yes, just… a bit tired," he wheezed.

Izuku kept a straight face, nodding rapidly.

Act like you don't know. Act like you don't know. Thanks, original Izuku, for being such a socially awkward nerd—this is easy to copy.

All Might straightened.

"Now, young Midoriya… strip."

"…What?" Izuku blinked, puzzled.

If I didn't know what he meant, I'd think he was the Dollar Store Diddy.

"I said strip. Exactly that."

"O-Okay…?"

Izuku hesitantly began removing his hoodie.

"Too slow!"

All Might bulked up instantly and tore the hoodie clean off.

"WHAT THE—?! THAT WAS LIMITED EDITION!!" Izuku yelped, hugging his torso.

All Might ignored the scream.

"I am checking out your body, young Midoriya."

"Checking out…? You make it sound like a pickup line," Izuku muttered.

All Might coughed. "I mean I am checking if your body is compatible."

Act normal… normal… don't show you already know this.

"Compatible for… what?"

All Might realized he hadn't explained.

"A-Ah, apologies! I should tell you properly."

He stood tall.

"Young Midoriya… I want to pass my quirk on to you."

Izuku widened his eyes. "Pass your quirk? Is that even possible?"

"Not with most quirks. But mine is special. I inherited it from my teacher—Nana Shimura."

"Nana… Shimura?" Izuku repeated.

Remember—act like you don't know her whole story.

"Yes, she was a pro hero when I was young. A great one."

All Might, still in his buff form, crouched and began examining Izuku's body—poking his shoulders, checking his arms, tapping his ribs, gripping his waist.

"Hmm… impressive! For a quirkless boy, you're already rather fit!"

"All Might—it tickles—!" Izuku squeaked, squirming.

"Your physique is already strong. That means your preparation will be easier."

"Preparation?"

All Might extended an arm across the beach.

"Your task, young Midoriya… is to clean up this entire beach!"

Izuku's eye twitched.

And there it is.

"C-Clean the whole beach…?"

"Yes! Being a hero means being socially responsible!"

Izuku sighed. "Alright…"

A few joggers approached the beach, whispering as they stared at the symbol of peace holding a half-naked teenage boy by the waist.

"Um, All Might… people are watching."

"SHIT."

All Might immediately grabbed Izuku bridal-style and launched into the sky.

"WHOA—NOW I'M REALLY FLYING!" Izuku yelled.

"This is your second time, young Midoriya."

"That time I was clinging to you, All Might! This is totally different!"

Izuku steadied himself against the wind, then whispered, "Um, All Might… calling you All Might in public is risky for your identity. So… what should I call you?"

All Might smiled proudly.

"Toshinori Yagi."

Izuku nodded.

"Got it. Yagi-sensei."

Later That Day — Elsewhere in the city

A certain girl who's saved by izuku thinking about him..

That guy… the one who saved me… who is he?

Her fingers brushed her lips unconsciously.

He looked really cool… And he called me his girlfriend… hehe… that's the first time someone's ever said that to me.

Her smile faded slightly.

Even though my father is a hero… he doesn't feel like a hero at home…

"Fuyumi, I'm home," a voice called.

She turned.

"Shoto. Did you have fun at school?"

"…Yeah."

No emotion. No joy. No complaint.

This was the Todoroki household.

A house of fire and ice.
