Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Training begins…

"All Might… no, Sensei," Izuku said.

"Now, young Midoriya… you have 10 months to clear this park. After that, you will join U.A."

I've been observing this beach and making strategies to clean it since I got here… it's a piece of cake… Izuku thought.

…or so I thought.

It's been 10 days and I only managed to clear a quarter of the beach… this is tough as hell. No wonder original Izuku took 10 months for this… I'm gonna clear this in maybe a month or two…

After 3 months…

That took longer than expected… now act like original Izuku… scream at the top of this pile… that's so cringe… but no need for butterfly effects.

"Good job, young Midoriya. Now comes the second part of your training," All Might said.

Second part… that never happened in the original timeline.

"Honestly, I thought you'd take the whole time, but I'm amazed you completed this in 3 months," All Might said.

"Now, to improve your physical capabilities… and to help you get used to the quirk you're inheriting."

"My quirk—One For All—it has been passed down to 8 users including me. It originated nearly 200 years ago."

"With this quirk, I was able to become… the Symbol of Peace."

"This quirk enhances your whole body—your strength, speed, senses. Using its full power, you'll be unstoppable. Young Midoriya, I want you to be my successor as the Symbol of Peace."

"Sensei…" Izuku said.

"Now, eat this," All Might said, plucking out a strand of his hair.

Here comes the disgusting part…

"What? Sensei… is there no other way?" Izuku asked.

This is what a sane person would say, he thought.

"No, there's no other way," All Might said.

"Now do it."

Here goes…

Izuku swallowed the hair.

"Disgusting…" he said out loud.

"Is that so?" All Might deflated into his skeleton form.

"No no, Sensei—this is really delicious." Izuku gave a thumbs-up.

"No need to hide it, young man. I also hated it… but since it was my teacher's, I happily accepted it. Looks like that wasn't the case for my student."

"No, Sensei, that's not true…"

"Anyway… you may feel the quirk awaken from tomorrow," All Might said.

"Also—be early."

"Yeah, Sensei."

---

After he reaches home—

"Izuku, where have you been?" Inko asked.

"Oh, I was with Kacchan," Izuku said.

"With who—?"

Suddenly, Bakugo appeared from behind her.

"Whoa, Kacchan—since when were you here?"

" So where have you been " Inko asked seriously

"I'm training."

"Izuku… don't do it. Without a quirk you can't be a hero…" Inko said, tearing up.

It's always been like this ever since I came here… it's time I put an end to this…

"Listen, Mom… I'm training my quirk," Izuku said, scratching the back of his head.

"What?" Inko froze.

"Izuku… really?" Bakugo asked.

"Yeah Kacchan, really," Izuku said.

Sorry, All Might…

"Time to throw a party," Bakugo grinned.

"Now we can finally be heroes, Deku!"

"Yeah."

"So what's your quirk?"

"It's physical enhancement, Kacchan."

That's the thing original me said in U.A…

"Physical enhancement?" Bakugo repeated.

"It enhances my physical strength… to the fullest of human limits," Izuku said.

"That's so cool! We can be heroes together now!"

"Yeah."

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Inko asked.

"It's only been 3 days, Mom. I wanted to tell you on your birthday."

"Aaah, my cute boy!" Inko hugged him tightly.

Smooth. You still haven't lost your touch, buddy, Izuku thought.

"Well, Deku, wanna spar? Using our quirks now?"

"Kacchan… I'm not proficient with my quirk yet. I'll injure myself if I push too hard."

"It's fine, just a spar."

They walked toward the mountain.

"Do you remember, Izuku? This is where I got my quirk," Bakugo said.

"Yeah, I do."

"Okay, let's begin. Since you're new—you attack first."

Stay calm. This is your first fight using OFA… All Might said it'll take time, and mostly tomorrow morning… let's hope it's already inside my body…

"Here I come, Kacchan!"

Please come… please come… Izuku thought.

He rushed Bakugo and threw a punch—

"What?! Did you really unlock your quirk?" Bakugo yelled.

"Now… take this!"

Izuku focused pressure into his finger. His body glowed—just like canon.

A massive wind pressure exploded outward—

Bakugo was pushed several meters back, crashing into trees even while defending.

Izuku's finger snapped.

---

"Whoaa… you really got a quirk, huh? This ain't just normal strength enhancement… your strength is on a different level, Izuku. You can really become a hero…"

"But remember—I'm gonna be No.1, and you can't beat me," Bakugo smirked.

"Yeah yeah… stop my finger first," Izuku said.

"WHAT?! I'LL KILL YOU!" Bakugo shouted, launching an explosion that sent Izuku flying.

Yeah… I'm still no match for Kacchan. Just what was I expecting… he's the one who defeats All For One in the future…

"You're too strong, Kacchan," Izuku groaned.

"Izuku… your finger…"

"It's because my body is still weak…"

"No worries. I'll help you train."

"No need, Kacchan… I'll master my quirk on my own."

"If you say so."

Izuku collapsed from exhaustion—all the training plus the spar finally hitting him.

On their way back—

Morning sunlight hit Izuku's face as he was carried toward the city by Bakugo, dangling half-conscious over his shoulder like a passed-out rag doll.

His broken finger throbbed, his muscles screamed, and his vision kept blurring in and out.

'Damn… One For All hits way harder than I expected… even just a flick could blow someone away… no wonder canon Izuku broke so many bones…'

"Oi, Deku," Bakugo grumbled, adjusting his grip as he carried him, "you really knocked yourself out, huh?"

Izuku forced his eyes half-open.

"Kachaan… you're warm like a heater… must be your explosions"

"SHUT UP! I'll drop you, I swear!"

But despite his yelling, Bakugo's hands were steady. Careful. Gentle.

They reached the street, and Bakugo clicked his tongue.

"Tch… your mom's waiting outside. I can't have Auntie crying again…"

Inko was pacing near the sidewalk, wringing her hands. The moment she saw them—

"IZUKU!" she rushed over. "Kacchan! W-What happened?!"

"He overdid it," Bakugo said bluntly. "But he wasn't lying. He really has a quirk now. He just needs training."

Izuku mumbled, half-asleep, "Yeah… strong… too strong… finger went boom…"

Inko covered her mouth—half shock, half relief.

"Oh dear, that means it's a real quirk… I'll get ice—Kacchan, thank you for bringing him home…"

"Tch. It's nothing," Bakugo muttered, but his ears turned red.

"If he dies, I won't have anyone left to beat."

Even in his sleep, Izuku smiled.

'Kachaan… you're the same… but also softer than I expected… maybe my presence is already changing things…'

Bakugo lowered him gently into Inko's arms.

Then he leaned down and whispered near Izuku's ear—

"Don't slack off, Deku. We're going to UA together. No excuses."

Izuku's breathing slowed, his consciousness fading completely.

Bakugo watched him for a second longer, then smirked.

"…Sleep well, idiot. You deserve it."

He turned away, hands in pockets, explosions crackling lightly behind him as he walked.

"Because soon—" he muttered under his breath,

"I'll be number one…

and you better be strong enough to chase me."
