"You shouldn't worry about that."
I jolted when a sudden kiss landed on my temple. It was quick and light, but it startled me enough to pull me back to reality.
I hadn't realized what I was doing until I stopped. I'd been nibbling at my fingers since we got inside the car, my elbow pressed against the door, my shoulders stiff. My hand froze halfway to my mouth as I lowered it back onto my lap.
I bit my lower lip and slowly turned toward him. The movement sent a sharp jolt of pain through my spine, making me tense for a moment. I shifted slightly in my seat, trying to ease it without drawing attention.
"Do you think whoever called me last night was the one who drugged me?" I asked still dizzy from the after effects.
