"Before the test commences, who can tell me the key things needed by those blessed by fire?" said the man with white hair and light green eyes.
Raising her hands quickly, a girl with dark blue hair in pigtails and light orange eyes said "The ability to refine an ore."
"Good." the man with white hair and green eyes said with a nod and other kids quickly raised their hands in unison.
"The ability to animate." said one kid.
"The ability to create." said another and the man with white hair and green eyes clapped his hands to stop them from spouting more answers.
"Your entrance test for the academy will be done in three parts and each will test you on qualities that are needed by those blessed by the spirit of fire" said the tall young looking man with white hair and light green eyes.
"Your first test will be presented by Zandra Aile" The man with white hair and light green eyes said as a woman with long light green hair and light pink eyes came forward.
"The first part of your entrance test is creation." Zandra Aile said with a smile.
"From the spare parts before you," Zandra Aile said as she pointed to the large table that contained all sorts of materials and tools.
"You are to create anything that can be considered useful in this modern day world." Zandra Aile said with a cheerful smile.
"The time limit is twenty minutes." Zandra Aile said with a smile
"And if you can not explain the usefulness of your project, you will be escorted out of the entrance hall." Zandra Aile said with a final smile before turning to a metal gong and hitting it with a padded mallet.
As the mallet hit the gong, the first thing the children did was run to the table in search of materials for their projects. The materials that Zandra Aile referred to as spare parts were mixed like a children's box of toys and numerous things from extremely rare materials to materials that were considered useless, were all merged together in order to test the contestants's adaptability and knowledge of creation.
"She is holding a clipboard." Princess Marina thought as she watched the female instructor from the corner of her eyes.
"Which means" Princess Marina thought as she melted the silver halide crystals in her hands into a bowl.
"If your project is too simple, you will be marked down even if you are not escorted from the hall." Princess Marina thought as she began to beat the highly malleable metal with a hammer.
"But if your project is too extravagant," Princess Marina thought as she took pieces of a blue ore and placed them in a metal box.
"You won't have enough time to make it." Princess Marina thought as she used thin strips of metal to secure the fragments of a blue ore from falling from its place in the metal box.
"Presentation also matters." Princess Marina thought as she recalled the instructor saying that failure to explain the usefulness of a project can lead to a participant being sent out.
Double checking that the fragments wouldn't fall out from its place, Princess Marina sealed the metal box and turned the box upside down. Glancing from the corner of her eyes once more, Princess Marina realized that she had only five minutes left and quickened her pace as she grabbed a piece of glass to work on the lens she was creating.
Setting the lens into the big hole she left for it, Princess Marina managed to secure the lens on her device when the gong sounded and all participants were told to halt.
The first candidate to present was the neon haired girl that praised Princess Marina before the entrance exam.
"My project for the entrance exam is something that every maiden in love will surely find useful." the neon haired girl declared and the instructors in the room tried hard to control their laughter.
"How so?" Zandra Aile asked fondly.
"Because," the little girl said as she tapped a button on a circular brown box and water began to come up from below.
"This will give them hope that they will always find love." the neon haired girl said as the water filled the translucent molds of a boy and girl in a tight embrace and the boy and girl in a tight embrace began to turn slowly on the circular brown box.
Flashback
"What do we do?" Estania asked as Gale pulled her close to his chest in the presence of the full moon and stars.
"I thought I could pretend to love him for peace but I do not want to let go of our mate bond." Estania said as she cried into Gale's chest.
"There will surely be a way." Gale said as he placed a kiss on Estania's forehead.
"The Moon Goddess is never wrong." Gale said as he hugged Estania close.
