On the wooden porch that was beginning to cool from the night wind, Hana stood frozen while squeezing the hem of her school uniform. In front of her, Sento—or Yutolu, the youth who had nearly lost his life because of her power—seemed completely unfazed by the awkward atmosphere.
Hana, with her natural personality that was cheerful and full of energy like sunlight, tried to break the ice. She tilted her head slightly, giving a signature idol smile capable of bringing millions of men to their knees. "Um, Sento-kun... thank you. If it weren't for you holding back my attacks that night, I might have done something much worse."
Sento only glanced at her briefly, his face remaining flat like the surface of frozen water. "There's no need to thank me. I was only carrying out a task from Denjo," he answered coldly. However, he paused for a moment before continuing in a slightly lower tone. "And... I'm sorry. I failed to protect you from that possession. I wasn't strong enough to hold that God of Curses inside you."
Hana started. Instead of hating her, Sento actually felt guilty? The girl let out a small laugh; the sound of her laughter was melodious amidst the hiss of the wind. "Eh? Don't talk like that! You were already very great, Sento-kun. Look, I'm still alive now, right?" Hana took a step closer, making the distance between them even thinner. A faint atmosphere of romance began to crawl in, making Hana's heart beat a bit irregularly.
However, that moment was shattered in an instant.
WUSH!
A white shadow streaked from behind the darkness of the dormitory roof, lunging fast with a fist aimed straight at Sento's face.
Without changing his expression, Sento moved with incredible efficiency. He didn't dodge, but rather caught his attacker's wrist with his left hand, twisted his body, and—BRAK!—slammed the figure onto the wooden floor with a loud thud.
"Ouch, ouch... Sento, you're as rough as usual!" the figure groaned.
A youth with snow-white hair wearing loose, plain white clothes lay on the floor. He grimaced in pain but immediately stood up with an acrobatic flair.
"Shinikai," Sento said, his voice sounding a bit annoyed. "Stop attacking me from behind."
"Well, you looked so serious with this beautiful girl," Shinikai smirked, his mischievous eyes now shifting entirely to Hana. He paused for a moment, looking Hana over from the tips of her toes to the top of her blonde hair. "Whoa... I thought you were an intruder, turns out you brought an angel. She looks like a blend of an angel and a goddess of beauty who just descended from the heavens!"
Hana could only blink in confusion, her face flushing from the blatant compliment.
Sento let out a long sigh. "Hana, this is Shinikai. He will be the one to show you around this place. I have other business." Without waiting for an answer, Sento turned and walked away, leaving them behind.
"Yes... alright," Hana replied softly, slightly disappointed that Sento left so quickly.
"Come on, beautiful, don't pout like that. Let's look around with me!" Shinikai approached, his face only centimeters away from Hana's while giving a naughty wink.
PLETAK!
"OUCH!"
Hana's small hand landed hard on the crown of Shinikai's head. "Shut up, you idiot! Don't talk so close!" Hana exclaimed, her face turning beet red from anger.
Shinikai groaned while clutching his head which felt like it was throbbing. "Fierce, aren't you... but I like it," he murmured softly while leading the way. "Now, this is the main entrance to the Stolker complex. And in front of us, there will be a magnificent welcoming fountain. How is it? You like it, right?"
Hana stared at the old fountain where the water was mossy and the statue was cracked here and there. "It's just ordinary," Hana replied flatly, not impressed at all.
Shinikai thought to himself, (Hmmm, this girl is tough to flirt with. She isn't easily amazed like her fans on TV).
They entered the larger main hall. "Now, let me introduce you, this is the hall where our classes are located. In Stolker, students are grouped by Rank, from the lowest to the highest. But don't worry, Hana..." Shinikai suddenly stopped and turned around, cornering Hana against the wooden wall in a kabedon style. "For you, you're already at Rank One in my heart."
BAM!
It wasn't the sound of a beating heart, but the sound of a direct hit. Hana's fist slammed into Shinikai's face until the youth was thrown back several meters and hit the classroom door.
"YOU'RE DISGUSTING, YOU KNOW! SO NEVER SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT!" Hana shouted, her face flushed crimson from embarrassment and exploding anger.
Shinikai lay on the floor with a slightly red nose. He fell silent, staring at Hana who looked like a small cat in a great rage. "Fine... fine, Hana. I understand," he said resignedly while trying to stand back up.
As time went on, the night grew deeper. Shinikai explained various rooms, from the training room to the meditation room, though this time he did so at a safe distance from the reach of Hana's hands.
Finally, they arrived in front of a hallway with many sliding doors. "Now, this is the dormitory. There are two wings; one for boys and one for girls. You mustn't enter the wrong one, okay, although I wouldn't mind if you got 'lost' into my room."
Hana gave a murderous glare.
"Hehe, just kidding! It's late, you should sleep. Don't wander around, or the dormitory's guardian wolf will bite you!" Shinikai teased for the last time.
"SHUT UP!" Hana replied shortly.
Hana then turned her face away, puffing out her reddened cheeks until she looked like a pouting squirrel. She entered her room and closed the sliding door loudly—SLREEEET! BRAK!
Shinikai stood in the empty corridor, frozen, staring at the closed door. His heart suddenly beat erratically. Hana's pouting face from earlier kept flashing through his mind. "Damn... why can she be that cute when she's angry?" he murmured to himself. The hidden yandere side within him began to stir, feeling that he truly had to "possess" this unique girl.
