Last time when she helped Otis change his clothes, she'd dressed him from the front, so she hadn't noticed his back at all, every bit of her attention had been glued to his abs.
Now, Otis had already rolled back over, lying on the bed and looking at Mei.
Mei dumbly asked, "What happened to your back?"
Otis answered, "I fell."
Mei frowned. "You fell?"
Otis grunted in acknowledgment, eyes on the ceiling. "Yeah. When I went home in June, I was carrying some stuff and accidentally fell down the stairs. That's how I ended up like this. But it's better now."
Mei still felt like Otis was lying to her. "Are you lying?"
Otis thought to himself that if this thing still hadn't disappeared by now, it probably wouldn't go away for the rest of his life.
After being around Mei for so long, he'd gotten a bit careless; whenever he was with her, he felt like he turned into an idiot.
Otis looked at her and said, "If I'm lying, I'm a dog."
