Chapter 35 - Chapter 34: End of the Quiz

"Protego."

Gilderoy Lockhart took out his wand. After a brief pause, he pointed it at himself and softly cast the spell.

A large, transparent shield instantly formed around him, enclosing him within its protection.

Severus Snape narrowed his eyes.

Previously, Lockhart had been nothing but empty talk. Now, however, something seemed different.

"So cool." Lockhart murmured to himself as he admired the Shield Charm.

Then he casually lowered his wand and offered the watching crowd a gentle smile.

Inside the endless white space of the question-and-answer arena, he had practiced these three spells countless times.

He had battled, failed, improved, and repeated the process over and over.

The experience had changed him.

He appeared less flamboyant and far more focused.

At this moment, he resembled the serious, passionate young wizard who had just graduated from Ravenclaw.

"Gilderoy, it seems you have learned a great deal from that orb. Seeing you now reminds me of when you first graduated."

Albus Dumbledore's words made Lockhart pause.

He looked directly into Dumbledore's clear blue eyes.

"It is not too late now, Professor Dumbledore."

Dumbledore gave a small nod but said nothing further.

Soon, everyone's attention returned to the card floating in midair.

"Who, along with Albus Dumbledore, coined the phrase 'For the Greater Good'?"

"Answer A: At that time, Gellert Grindelwald came to Godric's Hollow in search of the secret of the Deathly Hallows. This was the first time Albus Dumbledore met someone who could truly match him. For the first time, his ideas were fully understood. The two brilliant youths formed a close bond and coined the slogan 'For the Greater Good' together. Therefore, Answer A is correct."

"Answer B: When Tom Riddle entered Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore was already teaching there. The timeline does not match. Therefore, Answer B is incorrect."

"Answer C: Newt Scamander was Albus Dumbledore's student and one of the people he trusted most. However, the timeline does not match, and their ideologies differed. Therefore, Answer C is incorrect."

"Answer D: During Armando Dippet's tenure as Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Albus Dumbledore had only just entered Hogwarts. The timeline does not match. Therefore, Answer D is incorrect."

Everyone stared at the analysis, lost in thought.

Answer A revealed far more than anyone had expected.

Very few modern witches and wizards truly understood their Headmaster.

To them, Gellert Grindelwald was simply the Dark wizard defeated by Dumbledore in 1945. That was all the Chocolate Frog Card ever said.

Beyond that, they knew almost nothing.

"Alright, gentlemen," Aiden's voice broke the silence.

"The first round of the Quiz has now ended. Our journey pauses here. Thank you all for participating. You have provided great entertainment for many.

I now declare the official conclusion of the first round of the Quiz live broadcast."

With that, Aiden prepared to send everyone back and review his gains.

However, Dumbledore spoke first.

"Sir, will this Quiz live broadcast occur only once, or will there be future rounds?"

"Not just this round, Mr. Dumbledore," Aiden looked at him meaningfully.

"When certain conditions are met, the Quiz live broadcast will proceed to the next round. The rules may also change."

He waved his hand.

The white void vanished.

The seven figures standing on the high platform suddenly found themselves back at Hogwarts.

Aiden glanced briefly at Cedric Diggory before turning away, feeling slightly fatigued.

"Well done, Harry."

"And Ron and Hermione."

"You are the pride of Gryffindor."

The moment Harry, Ron, and Hermione returned, the Gryffindor students surrounded them.

Ron looked up and saw Percy Weasley, with whom he often clashed.

Percy's face was flushed with pride as he looked at his younger brother.

He reached out to pat Ron on the head, but Ron instinctively dodged.

Percy paused awkwardly before shifting his hand to Ron's shoulder instead.

"You are our pride."

Ron felt overwhelmed.

Wood pulled Harry into a tight hug, telling him repeatedly how proud they were of his correct answers.

Colin Creevey eagerly lifted his camera and captured the scene of Gryffindor celebrating the trio.

Dumbledore watched quietly, a faint smile on his face.

But he had not forgotten the more pressing matter.

He raised his wand and pointed it at his throat.

"Sonorus."

His voice boomed across the hall.

"Alright, children. The celebrations can wait."

"Professors, Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Gilderoy Lockhart."

He paused briefly.

"And Gilderoy. Please follow me to my office immediately."

The lively atmosphere instantly vanished.

Everyone remembered why they had gathered in the first place.

In Argus Filch's arms, Mrs. Norris remained stiff and unmoving. Her glassy eyes seemed to accuse the entire crowd.

Silence fell over Hogwarts.

"Go, Harry, Ron, and Hermione we believe in you."

Wood, Percy, and most of Gryffindor stood firmly behind the trio.

The suspicion that had once filled their eyes was gone.

In its place was trust.

And that trust moved Harry deeply.
