Before obtaining this notebook, Albus Dumbledore had already received the intelligent auxiliary chip designed to assist wizards.
He had also begun deducing the advancement path of a First-Ring Elemental Wizard.
But deduction was not certainty.
It could fail.
This notebook, however, came from someone who had already reached that level, possibly even higher.
Its value was perfectly timed.
It would significantly increase his chances of success.
Others might not understand its importance.
But Dumbledore did.
He knew exactly what this notebook meant.
Tom Gaunt looked at Dumbledore, who was deep in thought, and gave a slight bow.
"Good evening, Professor."
Dumbledore came back to his senses and looked at his former student, his expression still complicated.
"Good evening, Tom."
Perhaps only in this space could they speak so calmly.
Without conflict.
Without raising their wands against each other.
But this would only last for tonight.
Tomorrow, Dumbledore would search for Tom.
Or Tom would find a way to leave Hogwarts.
After that, everything would change.
Their figures slowly faded.
Dumbledore looked at Tom as if trying to remember him clearly.
Only when the surroundings completely shifted did he let out a quiet sigh and turn around.
Standing before him were Severus Snape, Minerva McGonagall, Gilderoy Lockhart, and Cedric Diggory.
Only these people knew what had happened tonight.
Of course, there was also someone else hiding, trying not to be noticed.
And so far, it had worked.
Dumbledore did not know that Aiden was there.
He looked at them and spoke calmly.
"It is quite late, Cedric, you should return to your dormitory. If you meet Argus Filch, tell him I asked you to come out earlier."
"Minerva, Severus, Gilderoy, the three of you come with me."
After speaking, Dumbledore walked ahead.
At the door, he paused and turned back.
"Remember, what happened tonight must remain a secret."
With that, he stepped out.
The three professors exchanged glances and followed.
Before leaving, Lockhart leaned closer to Cedric and whispered, "Go back and get some rest. It seems something serious is about to happen."
His expression was unusually serious.
Even someone like him felt uneasy.
After all, Tom Gaunt was still within Hogwarts.
That alone was enough to make anyone nervous.
More than a decade had passed, but the shadow of Voldemort still lingered.
Even if Tom Gaunt was not exactly the same person, few believed there would be any real difference.
Perhaps, in another ten years, that fear would fade.
But not now.
Cedric remained where he was and turned to look at Myrtle.
Her ghost floated silently, her wide eyes empty and lifeless.
Then he remembered.
She was not truly dead.
She had only been petrified.
Once the Mandrakes matured and the antidote was brewed, she could be saved.
After a few more minutes, Cedric moved toward the bathroom door and carefully peeked outside.
Seeing no one, he was about to call out.
Before he could speak, a hand covered his mouth.
He struggled instinctively until he heard a familiar voice.
"Quiet, Cedric, it's me."
Aiden slowly released his hand.
Cedric turned and saw him smiling.
After a brief pause, Cedric smiled as well.
"I'm glad you're okay. I was really worried earlier."
"Don't worry, how could anything happen to me?" Aiden replied with a smile, though in his mind he felt helpless.
He had nearly been scared to death.
Seeing Dumbledore in person like that had made his heart race.
He had been terrified of being discovered.
So he had stayed hidden in the corner, wrapped in the Invisibility Cloak, doing everything he could to avoid attention.
If he could have stopped breathing, he would have.
The timing had been terrible.
If they had met under normal circumstances, it would have only been a minor rule violation.
But now…
Even if Dumbledore did not suspect him, Snape definitely would.
Just imagining Snape watching him every day in class was enough to make his skin crawl.
If he had revealed himself from the beginning, it would have been easier.
With Cedric there, he could have explained everything.
But facing Dumbledore always gave him a strange sense of pressure.
So he avoided it.
"Did you see everything earlier?" Cedric asked.
"That person has returned, but something feels off."
"I saw it," Aiden replied. "He's back."
But his thoughts were far more complicated.
He knew Tom was about to return.
And after obtaining the Cloak of Justice, Tom had changed.
His personality had shifted.
That made things far more interesting.
If this had happened before, Aiden might have tried to find Tom's diary again.
But now, with Tom's soul complete, that would be suicide.
In a situation like this…
He needed to be more careful.
