Chapter 64 - Chapter 264: Only One Request

Yun Jin directly threw the wine jar over.

Lin Ya's eyes widened, and he caught the jar in a panic. He couldn't help glaring at Yun Jin, "How can you treat good wine so roughly! What if it shatters?"

Yun Jin smiled, "Master, try some?"

Of course he's going to try it.

Lin Ya busily took out a wine pot and wine cups, placing them in front of himself and Yun Jin.

When he opened the cork, the fragrant scent of wine began to spread.

Lin Ya forced himself not to drool, quickly pouring a cup.

Yet when it reached his mouth, his anxious appearance changed instantly, and he sipped slowly and carefully.

Yun Jin also poured herself a cup, drinking leisurely.

Lin Ya closed his eyes, savoring for a while, then praised, "Good wine. Whether it's mortal or spiritual wine, I've drunk many. Though this is clearly ordinary mortal wine, the taste isn't inferior to common spiritual wine at all."

The ingredients for spiritual wine were usually more precious, so for Yun Jin's mortal wine to taste like this, was already the pinnacle of mortal wine.

Yun Jin smiled, "Spiritual wine has a longer brewing cycle. I was afraid Master would get thirsty, so drink this Cloud Mist Wine first. When I find the right ingredients, I'll brew some spiritual wine."

"Excellent, excellent." Lin Ya drank delightedly, nodding repeatedly.

"And that legendary Baihua wine, I already have a clue for it. I'm just missing some ingredients. Those ingredients don't exist inside Tianxing Sect so I'll probably need to find them outside," Yun Jin continued.

"Baihua wine, a wine of legend, naturally isn't simple. No rush, no rush." Lin Ya poured himself another cup.

Hearing this, Yun Jin instantly looked righteous, "If Master isn't worried, how could we disciples be lazy? Baihua wine is just missing a few brewing ingredients. I'll go out and find them for Master. It shouldn't take long before there's progress."

"Excellent, excellent!" Lin Ya instinctively agreed.

Suddenly he sensed something wrong, looked up, confused, at Yun Jin.

Yun Jin had already stood up quickly, "So Master agrees to let me leave the mountain? This disciple will go prepare now."

She turned to walk out.

Leave the mountain?

Agree?

When did he agree!

Lin Ya stretched out his hand!

Yun Jin had already stepped past the door but was forcibly pulled back by a huge force.

"Master?" Yun Jin showed a perfectly well-behaved face. "What's wrong? Do you have more instructions?"

Lin Ya stared at her for a while, "Why do you suddenly want to go down the mountain?"

Yun Jin spoke honestly, "I want to see how big the world is."

Lin Ya sneered, "Speak the truth."

Yun Jin hesitated, "That is the truth."

Lin Ya wasn't anxious. He only crossed his arms and stared at Yun Jin with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.

Master and disciple stared at each other for a while.

Yun Jin sighed, "Master, this time going down the mountain, I already asked Third Senior Brother to accompany me. Third Senior Brother is reliable and calm. Nothing will happen."

Lin Ya sneered, "So you also know you're not reliable."

But…

Yu Songnian?

Lin Ya glanced strangely at Yun Jin. That third disciple of his was always silent, the most secretive, and Yun Jin almost never interacted with him. Yet this time she specifically asked Yu Songnian to accompany her.

Lin Ya's brows furrowed deeply.

A long moment later.

He spoke slowly, "The matter you are going to handle, does it concern Songnian?"

Yun Jin was stunned. She couldn't help saying, "That's not right, Master. You are a sword cultivator. Shouldn't you be strong of limbs and simple of—"

Lin Ya's face darkened, and he knocked Yun Jin on the head, "Speak properly!"

Yun Jin could only be honest, "Master Qing Yun told me that Third Senior Brother's petrification illness is because he has foreign blood in his body. I want to take Third Senior Brother to the Yu family to investigate the truth."

Foreign blood!

Lin Ya was startled, then his expression became enlightened.

So that's the reason!

When Yu Songnian fell from a genius to a cripple, Lin Ya always suspected that someone had poisoned him, and for years he searched for answers.

He never expected it to be because of his bloodline.

Lin Ya narrowed his eyes, "The Yu family's Sword-Testing Conference is about to begin, isn't it?"

Yun Jin nodded.

Clearly, Lin Ya had always been paying attention to the Yu family.

After thinking for a while, Lin Ya suddenly let out a mocking laugh, "This time you and Songnian can go down the mountain. I only have one request."

"Please say it, Master." Yun Jin hadn't expected this would go so smoothly, and her spirits rose.

Lin Ya spoke each word firmly, "Let that Yu family see what a true sword prodigy is!"

There seemed to be a hint of murderous intent hidden inside his tone.

Yun Jin instantly understood.

Looks like back then, Master and that Yu family didn't part on good terms.

That meant she could slap faces freely with no psychological burden.

"Master, rest assured. I'm good at this." Yun Jin said happily.

Lin Ya nodded and continued calmly, "That Yu family is the number one cultivation clan in Lin City. In terms of power, they surpass even some low-tier sects. The strongest in their family are a few early Fusion Stage elders. Their current family head, Yu Lin, is Songnian's biological uncle. As for his talent, it's average. He's been stuck at Soul Transformation Stage for who knows how many years."

"This Yu Lin's cultivation and talent are average, but his scheming is rather deep." Lin Ya sneered, "To tell you the truth, the day Songnian escaped the Yu family and came to Tianxing Sect, I escorted him secretly. Otherwise, he'd have died on the road."

Seeing Yun Jin's curiosity, Lin Ya explained, "Songnian's father and I were old friends."

Yun Jin nodded, understood.

When Third Senior Brother's father died, and Third Senior Brother became a cripple due to the petrification illness, Master must've received the news, immediately rushing over, rescued him secretly, and escorted him all the way to Tianxing Sect.

"Your Third Senior Brother still doesn't know that I was his father's friend. Don't tell him that for now." Lin Ya sighed, clearly frustrated.

All these years, he tried to solve Yu Songnian's illness and uncover the truth of his friend's death. Yet both paths led nowhere.

Back then, when Songnian first entered the sect, people from the Yu family even came several times to try to take him back. Even though they failed, Lin Ya had always felt irritated.

At that time he was injured and couldn't cause trouble for the Yu family.

But now…

Whether it's saving Songnian, or uncovering the secret of his bloodline, all debts would be calculated together.

"This time when you go to Lin City, if anything happens, notify me through the communication token immediately," Lin Ya said calmly. "I also have a Thousand-Mile Teleportation Talisman. I'll arrive instantly."

Yun Jin nodded, "This disciple understands."

Only then did Lin Ya relax, "The Yu family indeed needs a visit."

If not for his duties in the sect, he would've wanted to personally go.

But with the teleportation talisman, he could reach them instantly anyway, so there's no problem.
