As they entered, the bustling chatter of the San family fills the air. Goku waves enthusiastically. He calls out in a muffled voice, almost impossible to understand. Food flew from his mouth as pulsated proximation of real words follows.
Chichi: *She swats Goku's arm lightly.* Goku! Don't talk with your mouth full!
Gohan and Melody made their way over to the table, where the family greets them warmly.
Gohan: *He takes a seat, gesturing to Melody to sit down too.* Everyone, you won't believe what Melody told me on the way here.
Pan: Ooh, what is it dad? *She leans forward, eyes sparkling.* Did she tell you her secret technique?
Gohan: *He shakes his head, smiling.* Even better. Melody's mom knows all about our past battles - Red Ribbon Army, King Piccolo, Cell.
A hush falls over the table as all eyes turn to Melody.
Goku: *He jumps up, nearly knocking over his drink.* Wow, really? That's amazing! What's your mom's name, Melody?
Melody: Uhm... *She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.* Her name is Snow. Is... is that important?
Goku's eyes widen, his face lighten up with recognition and joy.
Goku: *He laughs, slapping the table.* Snow? No way! Guys, you won't believe this - Snow and I were childhood friends!
Chichi: *She gasps.* Goku are you sure?
Goku: *He nods vigorously.* Yep, how can I ever forget her. Snow saved me once from practically starving. I'd always considered Snow as family.
Melody: *Her jaw drops, eyes wide.* W-what? Mom never told me that!
Goten: *He leans across the table, tail swishing.* So does that make you like... our cousin or something?
Videl: *She chuckles, patting Goten's shoulder.* No Goten, you're making it much more complicated that it has to be.
Goku: This calls for a celebration! *He grins widely.* Melody, you've gotta stay with us. We have plenty of room!
Chichi: *She nods in agreement.* Of course! Any family of Goku's is family of ours. You're welcome to stay as long as you like, dear.
Melody: *She blinks rapidly.* I... I don't know what to say. This is all so sudden...
Gohan: *He places a hand on her shoulder.* It's a lot to take in, but we'd love to have you. Plus it might help us understand your... unique abilities.
Melody: *She smiles warmly.* Thank you, all of you... I... I'd love to stay. But I should probably call my mom first.
Goku: *He pumps his fist in the air.* Alright! And tell Snow I can't wait to see her again. We've got so much catching up to do.
Chichi: *She shakes her head, smilingly.* Well, this turned out to be quite the celebratory breakfast. Melody, welcome to the family!
