00: The characters

Sanemi Shinazugawa:

He has messy, naturally white hair that sticks up no matter how often he tries to flatten it. His eyes are a sharp purple, often narrowed in annoyance or focus. He's lean but muscular and athletic, with the kind of toned arms and shoulders that come from both sports and physical labor.

Scars still mark his arms, hands, and a few spots on his face—remnants of childhood accidents, fights, or rough living. His expression is almost always a scowl or glare, giving him a constant "don't talk to me" aura. His uniform is usually worn loosely and a little messy: shirt untucked, tie stuffed in a pocket, sleeves rolled up.

Outside school, he prefers V-shirts, track pants, or ripped jeans , nothing flashy. He often has a few bandages wrapped around his knuckles from "accidents" he doesn't explain. Despite his intimidating vibe, there's a sharp, striking quality to him—like someone who's both fierce and undeniably cool.

When he relaxes (rarely), the tension in his face softens, revealing a surprisingly youthful look he almost never lets others see.

1. Shinazugawa Sanemi is a notoriously intimidating high school student with a reputation that spreads faster than gossip.

2. His white hair, numerous scars from childhood accidents and street fights, and constantly furrowed brows make him look unapproachable.

3. Despite his rough exterior, he consistently ranks near the top of his class due to his relentless work ethic.

4. Their mother's sudden death years earlier forced him to grow up fast and shoulderresponsibilities most teens never face. He had also 6 younger siblings but they died in a car accident with their mother. The father was also abusing him but disappeared years ago.

5.Sanemi doesn't live with his younger brother Genya, but is taking on a parental role after their difficult family past.

6. He works a part-time job late at night to help pay bills, which contributes to his grumpy and sleep-deprived demeanor at school.

7. Teachers often misunderstand him, assuming he's a delinquent, even though he quietly respects the few who show him patience.

8. Sanemi's temper is infamous, but he rarely starts fights—he just finishes them when someone threatens Genya or his friends.

9. His athletic ability makes him a standout on the track team, where he vents his frustrations by running until his lungs burn.

10. Despite the attention he gets, he avoids social events and prefers solitary spots like the rooftop or the back of the library.

11. Most students never guess that he secretly cooks well, a skill he picked up out of necessity rather than hobby.

12. He also has a soft spot for stray animals, though he growls at anyone who catches him feeding them.

13. Underneath his prickly personality, he cares deeply about protecting the few people he lets into his life.

14. His greatest fear is failing the people who depend on him, especially Genya, his only brother after the accident.

15. In this modern AU, Sanemi is the kind of student who seems like trouble at first glance but ultimately proves to be fiercely loyal, determined, and unexpectedly kind.

Giyuu Tomioka:

Giyuu has dark, slightly wavy black hair that falls just above his shoulders, usually a bit messy as if he doesn't bother styling it.

His eyes are a deep wild ocean blue, calm and unreadable, giving him a quiet, distant aura. His skin is pale, and his expression is almost always neutral—never angry, just… blank.

He has a slim but well-toned build, the kind that comes from natural athleticism rather than intentional training. Giyuu's posture is straight but unassuming, making him easy to overlook unless you're paying attention. His school uniform is always neat and properly worn, though he looks like he didn't think about it at all. He carries a distinctive patterned jacket to school—one sleeve a muted geometric pattern, the other plain—because it was a gift and he treasures it.

Outside of school, he prefers simple clothes: hoodies in dark colors, fitted shirts, and comfortable jeans. He often has earbuds in, even when they're not playing music, just to avoid unwanted conversation. His calm, stoic face makes him seem cold, but up close he actually looks soft and gentle.

When he does smile—rarely—it's small, shy, and surprisingly warm, changing his entire appearance.

Here is **Tomioka Giyuu's backstory in a modern high-school AU**, keeping the emotional tone of his canon past but adapting it realistically:

1. Giyuu grew up in a quiet household with his older sister, Tsutako, who practically raised him after their parents passed away.

2. Tsutako worked multiple jobs to support them, and Giyuu admired her more than anyone else in the world.

3. Because of their financial struggles, the siblings were very close, often sharing meals, clothes, and responsibilities.

4. One night, when Giyuu was still in middle school, Tsutako was killed in a violent incident while walking home from work.

5. Giyuu survived because she pushed him away and shielded him, a memory that still haunts him.

6. The loss left him emotionally numb, withdrawn, and filled with guilt for having lived when she didn't.

7. After her death, Giyuu was taken in by a relative, but the home was cold and distant, offering little comfort.

8. He grew quieter and more isolated, often avoiding others to keep from forming connections he might lose.

9. At school, rumors started—some kids said he was "creepy" or "emotionless," which only made him retreat further.

10. He eventually joined the school's swim team because the water calmed him and helped him cope with anxiety.

11. Though naturally skilled, he never boasts about it and rarely talks during practice.

12. Giyuu keeps his sister's patterned jacket as his most cherished possession and wears it whenever he needs grounding.

13. His academic performance is stable but unremarkable, as he struggles with motivation and lingering grief.

14. The few teachers who try to reach out to him find him polite but emotionally closed off.

15. Deep down, Giyuu wants connection and peace, but he's afraid of causing pain or losing someone again—making him seem lonelier than he truly is.
