When Yami heard Yuuki's words, his eyes sharpened instantly.
He hadn't forgotten how Yuuki had ignored his orders before—leaving the capital without permission.
During the battle against the devil, Yuuki had undeniably carried much of the fight. Yami had no intention of dredging up old issues.
But now—
A bad feeling crept into his chest.
"Hey, kid," Yami said quietly, one hand resting on the hilt of his katana. "Now's not the time to pull anything."
Under the confused, wary, and puzzled gazes of those present—
Yuuki suddenly reached toward the sky as if grasping something unseen.
"Corpse Spirit Magic — Soul Abductor."
Invisible mana shot from his palm.
It seized Patry's departing soul—
And forced it back into the lifeless body of Licht.
For a moment, no one understood what he was doing.
Then—
All eyes turned toward Licht's body.
The corpse that had completely lost its presence—
Drew breath.
Mana that had dispersed began flowing back.
"…Reincarnation? No—revival?" someone whispered.
Patry's eyes snapped open.
He sat up slowly, staring at his hands in stunned disbelief.
"There's no need to look so surprised," Yuuki said calmly. "Licht's body was a clone created by Sally using your cells. Naturally, it can house your soul."
"…Why?" Patry rose to his feet, his expression complicated.
Yes, the appearance of the Word Soul Devil had revealed the truth—human and elf alike had been manipulated.
But that didn't erase what he had done.
He had deceived the members of the Eye of the Midnight Sun.
He had sacrificed them.
And yet—
Yuuki had revived him.
"Don't misunderstand," Yuuki said indifferently, waving a hand. "There's something I need to confirm."
"Yuuki!"
"Yuuki!"
Asta and Yuno both called out at once.
Yuuki turned to them, serious.
"Sorry, Asta. Yuno. This is internal business of the Eye of the Midnight Sun."
"Oho! He can revive the dead?" Lumiere exclaimed in fascination, studying Yuuki and Patry. He leaned toward Nero. "This 'Eye of the Midnight Sun'—is that one of our Magic Knight squads?"
"…No, Prince," Nero said quickly, whispering an explanation.
At the mention of the Eye of the Midnight Sun—
Patry visibly froze.
To him, it had been nothing more than a tool.
An organization to gather magic stones.
Discarded when no longer needed.
"You really never cared about the Eye of the Midnight Sun," Yuuki said softly.
Then his tone changed.
Sharp.
"But I should thank you, Patry. If you hadn't brought me into the Eye back then, I might never have grown strong enough to stand here today."
"In your eyes, many of its members were consumed by envy, hatred, and greed."
"But you forget—many more joined because they held hope."
"You betrayed the Eye of the Midnight Sun, Patry."
His aura turned cutting cold.
In an instant—
Rhya, elf Fana, and Vetto moved to stand behind Patry.
Vetto cracked his knuckles. "You want another round?"
Fana narrowed her eyes.
Rhya stared intently.
Then—
Wind split the air behind Yuuki.
Mariella.
Neige.
Rebecca.
Valtos.
They landed behind him.
"Lord Yuuki!"
"Lord Yuuki!"
Yuuki smiled faintly. "You're here."
"Valtos…?" Patry blinked in surprise.
Then realization dawned.
If Yuuki could retrieve his soul—
He could retrieve theirs as well.
"Rebecca?" Asta and Noelle exclaimed.
Even Yuno looked surprised.
Rebecca had always seemed like an ordinary girl.
Yet the mana radiating from her now was unmistakably powerful.
She merely nodded calmly.
"You are no longer qualified to lead," Yuuki said, turning back to Patry.
His gaze shifted to Rhya.
With a mere thought—
Rhya's grimoire began flipping on its own.
Light Magic — Judgment of Light Swords.
Golden blades manifested in the air.
Everyone tensed—
Expecting them to strike Yuuki.
Instead—
The swords pointed downward.
Their tips rested against Patry's throat.
Vetto's heart.
Fana's neck.
Even Rhya's own vital points.
"What are you doing, Rhya?!" Fana cried.
"I—I'm not!" Rhya gasped, drenched in sweat. "My grimoire—it's moving on its own!"
"Chain Magic — Demonic Binding Iron Formation."
Black chains erupted from the air.
They bound the four elves instantly.
Yuuki did not bother explaining.
He stepped forward—
Picked up Patry's fallen five-leaf grimoire.
Five leaves.
A faint smile crossed his eyes.
"So, you intend to become the new leader?" Patry asked coldly.
"At this point, you're the traitors," Yuuki replied evenly. "But internal matters can wait."
With a slash of his hand—
He opened a spatial gate.
Patry.
Rhya.
Fana.
Vetto.
The five-leaf grimoire.
All vanished into it.
He had no intention of devouring the five-leaf grimoire in front of everyone.
Some things were better kept hidden.
The Magic Knight Captains frowned.
The Eye of the Midnight Sun was a terrorist organization.
Yuuki clearly had no intention of letting it disappear.
Still—
None of the captains believed he could do much.
Not because they underestimated him—
But because everyone's mana was nearly exhausted.
Especially Yuuki.
He had fought at the center.
His reserves should have been close to empty.
Then—
Yuuki smiled.
He spread his arms.
BOOM.
A pillar of dazzling white light descended from the sky—
Directly onto him.
Pure mana flooded into his body.
Within moments—
The light faded.
Yuuki flexed his hand casually.
"My mana's restored."
Every captain's expression changed.
"What was that light?"
"Wait—there's something above us!" Asta shouted excitedly.
They all looked up.
High above the capital—
A massive island floated in the sky.
"That," Yuuki said calmly, "is the future headquarters of the Eye of the Midnight Sun. A flying fortress."
"…That light. The Imperial Sword Elsdocia is in your possession?" Lumiere asked, surprised.
As the first Wizard King, he knew of the kingdom's sacred treasure.
The other captains stiffened.
Especially Mereoleona.
And Yami.
They suddenly remembered—
Yuuki had once asked about the previous Wizard King, Conrad.
Mereoleona's face darkened.
She had been the one who gave him that information.
"So," Lumiere said carefully, "would someone care to explain?"
Silence.
It involved scandal.
"Since they won't," Yuuki said mildly, "I will."
"The Imperial Sword Elsdocia was sealed alongside the former Wizard King. I merely reclaimed it."
"Silence!" Nozel snapped. Silver mercury surged around him. "Theft of a national treasure and slander of the Wizard King are capital crimes!"
Yuuki shrugged.
Lumiere sighed faintly.
"Yuuki… return the Imperial Sword to the kingdom. As the First Wizard King, I will absolve you of all charges. If anything has caused you grievance… I apologize on behalf of the kingdom."
He bowed.
Yuuki stepped aside.
"I can't accept that."
"Forgive me, First Wizard King. Matters of today should be handled by those of today."
Murmurs rose.
"A mere commoner!"
"How dare he!"
Pressure mounted.
Yuuki only smiled faintly.
"Defeat disqualifies one from leadership."
He gave an imperfect noble bow.
"Allow me to reintroduce myself."
"Yuuki no last name."
"Leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun."
