"Girl, did I just see Alistair Blackwood drop you off?" Lilian's mouth was still open when she asked. Even after seeing it with her own eyes, she looked like she could not believe what had just happened.
"Do not make it a big deal," Riley said as she rolled her eyes and dropped into the chair. Her body felt heavy. "I am tired."
"I know. You have been working so hard, dear" Lilian walked to the fridge, brought out two drinks, and handed one to her before sitting down beside her. She studied Riley's face for a moment. "So how is it going? You never told me anything about your new job."
Riley sighed as she opened her drink and took a slow sip. She stared at the bottle for a while before speaking. "You will not believe it even if I tell you."
"I am more interested in this than anything else right now," Lilian said as she moved closer and sat on the edge of the couch, her eyes filled with curiosity. Waiting was killing her. "Can you just say it already?"
