"Roxy?" Syris asked, sensing the shift in her pheromones. "What is it? Is something wrong?"
Roxy looked at Kaelen and Zarek in the doorway. Then back at Syris.
She couldn't tell them about the System. But she could tell them it was the heavens that told her.
"Syris," Roxy whispered, her voice faking a tremble. "I... I know why your people are dying."
Syris went still. "What?"
Suspicion was very clear in his eyes thinking of how she would know about his clan dying.
Roxy started. "It's your bloodline isn't it? It's too thin. You used to be Basilisks."
Syris flinched as if she had struck him. He backed away. "How... how do you know that name? It is a lost legend."
"I know," Roxy said firmly. "And I know how to fix it."
She stepped toward him, leaned into him, Syris held his breath as her milky flowery scent enveloped him.
