Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: New Quest

There were a lot of beastmen, probably over twenty. One similarity stood out between them; the beastmen were very young, most likely around twelve to twenty years old.

They were from various clans, each possessing outstanding looks. It was just a pity that most of them were injured. The beastmen who were bound to a pillar suffered the most injuries.

Su Yining suspected they were like the pair of black cat siblings, wanting to run away but was caught by the kidnappers.

Although her short communication with Yuanyuan didn't give her a clue where he was going, she knew instantly this dangerous place was his destination!

Why did her little cub go to such a place?

She clicked the arrow which led her to Xie Ziyuan's position. He was in his silver wolf form, nimbly running in the woods. Su Yining was momentarily entranced by the silver wolf's cuteness, but she quickly recovered.

Her finger poked the figure moving among the sea of darkened trees.

Xie Ziyuan snorted in his heart. What did this woman want again? Perhaps because of his bad experience with female beastmen, he already pictured her as a female old monster.

A granny wearing a young female face, or maybe a lingering ghost.

He was pretty convinced of the latter. However, he also didn't rule out the possibility she was an old monster with invisible ability.

Su Yining was a little worried.

Even the quest message from the game didn't make her excited like the last time it did.

[Recruit twenty residents. Reward: 300 gold coins. Yes/No.]

Her finger lingered on the word no, but then, she sighed. What a rebellious main character. Since it was Yuanyuan's wish, let's just support him.

It would be a pity to lose so many gold coins. She could buy him something nice from the shop with so many coins. Su Yining accepted the mission. Anyway, for now there was no consequence for failing the mission, right?

She checked the kidnapper's place again, wanting to help him.

This time, there were a few beastmen conversing. They had gray tails with a few black stripes. Obviously, they were the kidnappers since they could walk freely.

"It's a pity two black cats ran out, otherwise, we would have gotten more money for selling them!" A beastman, who looked ugly in Su Yining's eyes, spoke.

Although they had chibi appearance, she couldn't like them!

"Although it's a pity, we have reached the target. Let's move the majority of them tomorrow. Lest more they run away, and we will suffer more loss then," another kidnapper retorted.

"Pick a decent time when those ferocious beasts are asleep. Even with our ability to mask our scent, they might spot us! These fierce beasts have sharp eyes!"

Su Yining stared at the discussion of five similar beastmen unblinkingly, taking each of their words in her heart.

Unknowingly, she started to care for the game more than she initially planned to. It had taken her whole interest. Even Su Yining herself hadn't realized this.

As a new player, a lot of features and items in the shop were a novelty for her. She wanted to find out each of their functions one by one.

She even already considered her Yuanyuan as a cute cub she needed to take care of!

Speaking about him, didn't he just recover from his injuries not long ago? It was unlikely he could take down five beastmen in his current condition.

Soon, Xie Ziyuan arrived at the cave where they had kidnapped all the beastmen. This area of the forest was safer compared to the dangerous zone which surrounded the castle.

He was extremely vigilant. The area he could scan with his senses was extremely limited since his mental power hadn't recovered fully.

Although it could pinpoint the direction of danger because of the mental power's previous level, at his current power, he had no concrete idea what kind of dangers they were.

His mental power… might not recover. Unless there was a miracle.

He had no choice but to move closer to the cave so that it was within his range of senses. His senses spotted a few beastmen.

Su Yining saw her little wolf cub immediately. He was hiding cautiously, studying his enemies first before striking. She tried to send him a message to warn him. Alas, they couldn't be delivered.

"Raccoon and skunk beastmen…" Xie Ziyuan furrowed his brows. He immediately recalled these people's abilities.

They could hide their presence mostly by masking their scent. He disliked their clan because his enhanced senses couldn't stand the smell they emitted.

Still, he had to admit their abilities were very useful to repel most fierce beasts. The smell of shit and urine would drive anyone away.

Xie Ziyuan proved to be a very patient hunter. Even when Su Yining grew bored, he stayed in his place among the bushes, merging into the darkness.

At this time, Su Yining had logged out of the game. She needed to do the house chores. Once she received the inheritance left by her grandparents, she could move into a better place.

Alas, because of some people's interference, the process might take a while…

Thinking of this, her brows furrowed. The Su family's business had fallen into her dad's hands, but her grandparents still possessed considerable wealth. Obviously, they had prepared those for her.

Su Yining was a little absent-minded as she took a bath and ate her dinner. She cleaned her room a little to distract herself, occasionally checking her game too.

She was a little too engrossed in her cleaning activity. It made her a little better after she saw her neat room. By the time she finished, it was almost midnight.

Her hand reached her phone. She almost forgot about her Yuanyuan! Once she logged in again, she saw that two skunk beastmen had exited the cave.

"Do you feel like someone is watching us?" There were two beastmen who had walked out of the cave.

They scanned the surroundings. "Do you want to check? We might find prey for our dinner nearby."

Su Yining almost held her breath when one of them pointed in a direction. Then, she saw the two ugly chibis heading to the direction her Yuanyuan was hiding in!

She instantly clicked the shop. Hovewer, her heart fell when she remembered she was poor now. The pitiful two gold coins were particularly glaring to her eyes.
