Chapter 75 - Provocation at the Guild Hall (Bonus Chapter)

The contract between Levi and Liliruca was signed smoothly.

Even though it was stated beforehand that breaking the contract after signing it would result in severe punishment, the Pallum girl, who had no other way out, didn't hesitate for a moment. She took the pen and signed her name after 'Party B'.

In the next instant, a mysterious and profound feeling surfaced in Liliruca's heart.

It was as if the contents of the treaty written on the parchment had truly gained a binding force, transforming into invisible chains—

No, this was no illusion!

Liliruca sensed her own state for a moment, then looked at the pale-blonde youth sitting opposite her in surprise.

"Lord Levi, really, you didn't trust Lili."

"As if you would trust other adventurers."

Levi pursed his lips.

On the matter of adventurers, his and Liliruca's views were aligned.

"Or did you think you could obtain the power to change your future without paying any price?"

Liliruca fell silent upon hearing this.

Having been beaten down by reality for over a decade, how could she not understand the principle that all of fate's gifts are secretly marked with a price?

Besides, she had no intention of breaking the contract anyway.

She exhaled and changed the subject: "Since Lili is now Lord Levi's person (Hestia from the side: 'Hey!'), alright, Lord Levi's subordinate, can I get my employee benefits now? For example..."

Levi raised an eyebrow: "The Fire Wine?"

"Ehehe~"

Having Liliruca replace Zanis as the captain of the Soma Familia was clearly not something that could be accomplished in a day or two.

With the girl's ability scores being practically a blank slate, even with the weakest 1-star Fire Wine, she could only drink half a small bottle on the first day.

Any more, and she would pass out from mental exhaustion.

Fortunately, Levi himself was not an impatient person.

Having reached the limit of Lv.4 in his Falna, the next thing he undoubtedly had to consider was accumulating a Feat to reach Lv.5.

Of course, before that, as Hestia's only familia member, he still had a War Game to fight.

So, he made a trip to The Guild around noon the next day.

He was there today to confirm the specific members participating in the War Game on his side.

Unlike the Apollo Familia, who, with the help of the Freya Familia, had submitted their roster days ago, Levi was undoubtedly much more lax.

Conversely, the Guild staff member responsible for him, Eina Tulle, was more anxious than he was.

"Mr. Levi, why are you only coming now?!"

the half-elf girl asked.

After two seconds, realizing her tone had been too harsh, she apologized, "Sorry, my attitude was a bit poor just now."

"No problem." Levi didn't mind such a small thing, replying with a smile, "I was inexplicably targeted by the Apollo Familia, so I thought I'd properly boost my strength a bit before the War Game starts~"

Hearing this, Eina's expression grew even more solemn.

As if having made some kind of resolution, she suddenly stood up and gave a deep bow to the boy sitting across the counter.

"I'm sorry. If I hadn't suddenly called out to you back then, you wouldn't have been exposed to Lord Apollo and Lady Freya."

The girl was clearly shouldering the responsibility for the War Game.

Levi, however, didn't see it that way. He simply said with a calm expression: "But if that hadn't happened, I would never have met Lady Hestia."

"In a way, you're actually the matchmaker for Hestia and me, so please, raise your head, Miss Eina."

"Mr. Levi..."

The nicer Levi was, the heavier Eina's guilt became.

Seeing her still anxious, Levi added, "Besides, I don't think I'm going to lose tomorrow's War Game."

As soon as he finished speaking, several sneers came from behind him.

Clearly, being in the main hall, Levi and Eina's conversation had been overheard by many.

Furthermore, the Apollo Familia's helpers were from the Freya Familia, and Hyakinthos had even reached Lv.4 a few days ago.

Even the gods who had previously attended the Apollo Familia's banquet didn't think the Hestia Familia had any chance of turning the tables.

Let alone other ordinary adventurers.

A look at the betting odds for the War Game released by the casinos was enough to explain a lot.

Levi, with an inner soul over 30 years old, couldn't possibly care about the laughter behind him.

But Eina, despite having worked at The Guild for many years, could never become as indifferent as her colleagues.

Hearing the other adventurers' mockery, she subconsciously slammed the counter and stood up.

Just as she was about to rebuke them, her arm was suddenly grabbed in the next second.

Levi shook his head slightly, his meaning clear: he didn't want to cause trouble.

But his reaction was misunderstood by those few adventurers.

"So you're Levi Bright?"

A fierce-looking man walked up, looking down at the boy sitting in the chair, and clicked his tongue twice. "He really is a pretty boy. No wonder Lord Apollo took a liking to him."

"You!"

Eina couldn't hold back.

The other neutral-minded adventurers in the hall also couldn't help but frown, but they only watched without intervening, not wanting to cause trouble for their own Familias.

At that moment, Levi sighed.

He stood up, ignoring the man who was staring at him provocatively, and looked calmly at Eina.

"May I ask, what is the penalty for being provoked in the Guild hall and retaliating?"

Eina was taken aback, but the pink-haired human girl at the next counter immediately answered, "Depending on the severity of the retaliation, there's a fine ranging from a minimum of 100,000 Valis to a maximum of 5,000,000 Valis. If there are injuries or deaths, that's calculated separately."

"So, as long as no one dies, The Guild will only issue a fine, correct?"

The pink-haired girl nodded: "That's right."

No one was a fool. Seeing Levi ask this, how could they not know what he was planning?

Least of all the provocateur. "A mere Lv.1, what are you so smug about? I'm telling you, I'm a Lv.2! Do you know what a Lv.2 is?!"

As he spoke, he raised his hand, intending to shove Levi.

Unfortunately for him, his arm stopped half a meter away from the boy and could move no further.

Because a translucent shield had suddenly appeared between them.

Levi's expression was calm: "I don't know which god sent you to test me—of course, it's also possible you're just a genuine idiot—but people must always pay the price for their actions..."
