The moment Aurora's eyes landed properly on the little white cub, the faint smile on her lips disappeared completely. Because she noticed the dark crimson blood staining its snowy fur, especially around its left front leg where a deep gash was clearly visible beneath the moonlight.
Her heart dropped instantly.
Without wasting another second, she hurried forward and crouched down beside the cave entrance before carefully scooping the tiny beast into her arms. The cub let out a small sound at the sudden movement but didn't resist her at all, instead it immediately leaned weakly against her chest.
Aurora frowned deeply as she examined the wound.
The cut wasn't shallow. Something sharp had clearly torn through the cub's leg earlier, and although the bleeding had already slowed, dried blood still matted the beautiful white fur around the injury. Her fingers moved quickly yet gently as she checked the rest of the cub's body for additional wounds.
