Watching Kate walk towards the kitchen with her back to him, taking slow steps, he couldn't help but stare intently at the sway of her hips. Those sensual curves and her heart-shaped ass. Jhon's mouth watered; she was stunning. Still, so as not to look like a pervert, he quickly looked away. He took a breath and calmed his racing heart, making the blood stop rushing so urgently to little Jhon.

Kate, who was walking, obviously felt his gaze; how could she not when she's trained to shoot arrows blindfolded? She got a little embarrassed by his stare, but to her it was just pretending she didn't notice.

If it had been any other guy doing it, he'd already have blue balls, except instead of feeling angry that he was checking her out, what she felt when he stopped was... a slight disappointment.

Not knowing why that sudden feeling hit her, she kept walking until she reached the kitchen. When she got there, what she saw was Kamala tasting the tomato to check if it burned and Riri staring fixedly at what they had pulled out of the Zombie's stomach.

Jhon slowly approached where they were, following Kate from behind. He was looking around, checking out the house's structure. Especially the dining room, where there's an insane amount of cables connected to different devices. It was... messy.

Letting his body filter Wakfu without them noticing, he observed the surroundings with greater precision using his perception. When he did that, he noticed the armor behind the kitchen; was there... a teddy bear in Iron Man's suit? He figured Riri had stolen it when he died.

As if summoned, Riri looked up when she saw Kate enter the kitchen.

"Girls, come here! Oh... and Jhon," she shouted to get their attention, but glared at Jhon, who was behind Kate. He just made a face.

They barely knew each other and she was already looking at him like that. Maybe she likes one of her friends? Jhon remembered that in a comic Riri was lesbian.

Parallel to his thoughts, in front of the one who didn't like Jhon.

Kamala stopped stirring the tomato soup when she heard the shout. She had tasted it and yeah... it was edible. With nothing else to eat, that's what they had. Her stomach was already rumbling from hunger.

"One second." She said, going to grab the plates to serve the soup. She moved a little to the left of the stove and tried to open the upper cabinet, but couldn't reach properly because of her height. She was about to call Kate, who is a bit taller than her, but before she could, a taller shadow than her friend positioned itself behind her, startling her.

"Allow me." The shadow spoke to her, with a deep and mesmerizing voice. Kamala swallowed and bit her lips, knowing it was Jhon.

Jhon, behind her, stayed close but without touching her directly. He opened the cabinet and took out the plates. They weren't that close yet; if he overdid it, he could ruin all his progress. However, he knew he had to make them trust him, so the best thing was to gradually close the distance little by little.

Kate, already behind Riri, frowned at the scene, feeling a bit bitter about it, but without overthinking it, she figured it was just Jhon's courtesy.

Riri, on the other hand, felt something heavy on her head, like a hat. But she ignored the feeling and was about to call Kamala again and interrupt the moment. But she didn't get the chance.

"T-thank you," Kamala stammered, not knowing how to react, feeling a bit shy with him behind her.

Aware that lingering too long would make her uncomfortable, he stepped away before that happened. Preventing Riri from interrupting them, which annoyed her.

Kamala, seeing Jhon pull away, breathed a sigh of relief. She didn't know how to act in those situations; she's a woman in the prime of her youth and when she turned 18, the world went to hell a month later. She hasn't experienced anything.

Since the tense moment had passed, and with the plates down, she grabbed them and poured the soup. Then she carried them to the cluttered dining room, placing them in a free spot. She stood behind Riri next to Kate.

Seeing that her friends were already behind her... oh and unfortunately Jhon, Riri proceeded to flip a mechanism on the device, which seemed to turn it on.

"Wow!" Her friends exclaimed, making her raise her nose proudly.

"What do we have here?" asked Kate, getting closer to see it better.

Riri was about to explain, but right then an idea occurred to her, making a mischievous smile appear on her face.

"Jhon, what do you think it is?" she asked, spinning her chair around, looking intently at Jhon with a grin. The man was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, relaxed. He hadn't expected them to ask him, but he wouldn't miss a chance to score points.

Kate was about to scold Riri, aware of her intentions. She hadn't expected her friend to act that way. But before she could speak, Jhon beat her to it.

"Well, based on its shape and the frequency it's emitting... a transmitter, I suppose." The moment he said that, the malice on Riri's face vanished and her eyes sparkled as she looked at him, like she'd found an equal.

"Exactly, I knew you were smart, I never doubted it for a second!" she said with a laugh while pointing at him. Kate's lips twitched at how shameless she was. It was obvious she disliked him at first.

Riri didn't care what Kate thought; she had just discovered that her new archenemy had quickly become one of her close friends (ahem, one of the few left). No one would understand how great it feels to know someone gets things like you do.

"And if it's radiating isotopes..." She didn't finish again. Pointing at her new friend, she waited for him to complete it, wanting to confirm it wasn't just a lucky guess. Though her excited expression gave her away.

"Then that's not its original size." Jhon finished, smiling at her. He hadn't expected winning over the tech geek would be so easy. Honestly, he thought she'd be a pain, which would make him stop trying to get close to her, but no, which made him glad.

"Hahaha, I don't know why I disliked you," Riri laughed heartily knowing her new friend wasn't an idiot. She still believed she was smarter, but at least Jhon went from a 5 to a 7.

If Jhon knew what she was thinking, he'd just say: Who wants to be your friend?

But since he didn't, he kept the conversation going.

"I'm glad you're getting along." Kate joined with a smile, happy that the house was in harmony, including the guest. However, her expression changed right then. The frown on her forehead expressed her thought. "If that wasn't its size, there's only one possible explanation for it changing..." After saying that, she sat in a chair next to Kamala.

"Ant-Man." It was Kamala who answered, who was eating her soup after seeing that Riri wanted to mess with Jhon. She wasn't going to sacrifice her badly made tomatoes just for her.

"Pff, you have a little tomato on your cheeks." Jhon teased, to which Kamala wiped urgently, not wanting more second-hand embarrassment. After that, she didn't have the courage to lift her head, so she just kept eating her tomatoes with a flushed face, in silence.

Kate and Riri chuckled.

After a moment of watching Kamala be embarrassed, Riri got back to the topic.

"I think it was Ant-Man too, but it's interesting that its firewall has quantum encryption."

"Do you have a way to show it?" asked Jhon with a frown, and what came was an answer from someone who hadn't joined the meeting until now.

"Allow me," replied Friday, moving the decapitated Iron Man armor until it was in front of them. A projection of the transmitter's data came out of its chest.

"Thanks." Riri smiled. Then she stood from her chair and went to the front. "Technically, I'd need a motherboard to crack it, but as we see here..", she pointed at a part of the data. "From its metadata, I'd say it was part of S.H.I.E.L.D's Project Insight, in an attempt..." Her eyes took on a solemn touch, she breathed and took a moment to say the rest. "In an attempt to end the Zombie plague."

"Wait, does that mean if we take that transmitter to a S.H.I.E.L.D base to get the motherboard, we could save the world?" asked Kate solemnly, standing from the chair and pacing back and forth. If what she said is true, they have to move and abandon the house.

"Did you guys seriously forget?" The answer she got wasn't what she expected; it was much better, because Jhon was there to remind them that if it's about ending the Apocalypse, he's the one. He just needs to "accumulate emotions" and his power will work.

Kate's eyes lit up hearing Jhon, remembering the main reason she let him in.

"Right, your wish power!" she shouted while getting close to him and shaking him side to side, excited.

Jhon just stared at her with a raised eyebrow. To which Kate realized right away and let him go, coughing embarrassed.

"Exactly," replied Riri. "If what Jhon says about emotions is true, and they can be quantified..." she glared at him, still not fully believing what he said. Jhon just felt his lip twitch; this woman is way too suspicious. "Reaching a huge amount of emotions would let him grant the wish to end the whole Apocalypse, therefore..." She paused for a moment. She sighed and looked seriously at the three. "We have to go to the S.H.I.E.L.D base, what better way than to reveal to them that you can end the Zombie plague using your power?"

"Of course, only if you want us to reveal it," she added, looking at him. Without acting petty this time.

Kamala and Kate stared at him too, waiting for his answer, hopeful. The first looked at him with puppy eyes, trying to win over her new friend's heart. The second was more willing to find other options if he refuses, but she'd be very disappointed if he does.

Yeah, he could end it all right now.

But then it wouldn't be an adventure—it would be a job.

And he didn't come to this world to work

So Jhon, seeing them staring at him over something like that, was internally a bit uncomfortable. How was he supposed to tell them that's a lie? He wondered if it would've been more feasible to say he can grant wishes like cabbages than needing emotions. Please, his shop probably gets as many beings as a Michael Jackson concert.

Unlike his internal complexity, externally he looked like he was thinking about it, like he was giving them the "trust" to share something about himself.

"Mm..." He put a hand on his chin, as if analyzing the situation. The three were a bit nervous, waiting for his answer. The irony is that, unconsciously, they were treating him like a friend they've known for a long time, something that shouldn't be easy, but Jhon's small actions have made them start considering him "natural".

"Alright." After leaving a deliberate 10-second suspense, he finally accepted, exciting them right away.

"Yay!" Kamala jumped from the chair and launched herself at him with open arms. Jhon caught her in the air, hugging her and laughing at her antics.

"Kamala, let him go, you're bothering him!" Kate apparently didn't take it as well. She stood from the chair and went over to them, wanting to separate them.

"Does it bother you?" Kamala asked Jhon, lifting her head until she was looking at his face, still hugging without second intentions. Her puppy eyes came with the question.

"Not at all." He replied in a relaxed and cheerful tone. He genuinely liked spending time with them, and so far especially with Kamala. Beyond her appearance, he liked her spontaneity. He was sure that if Elysra and her met, they'd become friends fast.

"See~?" Kamala turned to look at the complainer, sticking her tongue out. A vein popped on Kate's head. This girl was being way too familiar lately.

"What's wrong, Kate, jealous~?" Riri approached behind her, whispering in her ear.

"Y-you, what are you saying, I'm not!" She stammered, turning her head, embarrassed. She had just acted on instinct. She didn't like Kamala being so familiar with him. It wasn't hard for her to notice her slight attraction to Jhon, after not being grossed out that he checked her out, she managed to sense it over time. It's just physical attraction for now, so her emotions aren't that involved yet.

"Pff, you don't even believe that yourself," Riri laughed.

While the two of them were arguing, beside them, Jhon leaned close to Kamala's ear to talk to her, his slightly husky voice resonating in her head: "You know, I'm a healthy man, if you keep hugging me like this... I don't think I can hold back much longer." He said. She was still hugging him, apparently not wanting to let go.

Hearing Jhon close to her ear, Kamala's hairs stood on end. Before, she wanted to pull away as soon as she saw his intentions to get close, but the uncertainty of what he would say put her in a bind, so she swallowed and used the little courage that comes to her in moments.

"W-what do you mean?" She whispered softly, not daring to look at him, stammering a bit.

She didn't get to hear the answer, because near her abdomen, where Jhon's crotch was, something started growing slowly, touching her.

She frowned, confused. 'Why would Jhon have a bat where his dick should be?', she wondered internally. So not believing something like that could be his member, she thought it was something else.

Her curiosity won and she touched it, slowly wrapping her hand around it, except it didn't fit in her hand. She felt and rubbed it while examining its outline, feeling how weird it was.

Unable to figure out what it was, she was about to ask him directly, so she looked up to whisper, not wanting her friends to know. Except what greeted her was a Jhon with sweat on his forehead and his mouth clenched, like he was holding something back. Seeing his appearance, a light bulb went off in Kamala's head, deducing what she was touching.

Faster than Makkari, she reacted and stopped touching it.

Then, little by little her face turned so red that smoke almost came out of her head.

"Ah-" she was about to scream, but Jhon quickly covered her mouth with his hand. She looked up at him with teary eyes, still embarrassed. Seeing her eyes, it took Jhon 3 years of willpower not to carry her upstairs and completely ravage her in bed; he was going crazy.

Breathing deeply to calm his little brother, it went down after a few seconds, showing his control over his body.

Feeling that Kamala was calm, he removed his hand from her mouth.

At that moment...

"What the hell are you two doing?" questioned Kate, looking at them with crossed arms and a frown. Riri just laughed lightly, still thinking she was jealous.

Hearing Kate, Kamala almost fainted, so she stopped hugging him right away. She felt like a mistress caught by the wife. Ahem, not that the idea excited her or anything.

"I'm starting the car!" She shouted before Kate could respond, running to the garage.

Jhon just stood there, scratching his head. He felt like a cheating husband abandoned by his gold-digging mistress. So he had to face it. "She was telling me how excited she was about saving the world." He replied.

Kate looked at him with narrowed eyes, doubtful, to which Jhon looked back at her with a raised eyebrow and a suggestive expression. "Why, is there a problem?"

Hearing his question, Kate seemed to realize how bold she was being questioning what they were doing; she didn't even have any right. Yet.

She blushed a bit and turned her face. "N-no, there's no problem, sorry, I shouldn't have interrogated you like that," she told him.

"Pff, no need to get nervous," Jhon laughed seeing her embarrassed face. Kate glared at him for mocking her.

After a pleasant minute of chatting with them and making Kamala wait in the garage, Jhon took on a serious expression. "Alright, since we're ready, we have to go to S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Right, let's go!" Kate opened her eyes, remembering how important this mission is. She pulled Riri, who complained because they didn't let her grab her materials. Then Friday picks them up and starts carrying them, making her give a thumbs up. Definitely Friday will be her basement heir.

They ran toward the garage, leaving Jhon behind.

Watching their bodies run toward the exit, Jhon still couldn't believe how crazy this is. Having powers was one thing; he already went through the doubt and acceptance of them. However, meeting and talking to people he once thought were just characters is something else.

It's one of the main reasons he simply doesn't have them wish to end the Apocalypse. Making friendships, gaining experience, meeting new people. All that. He doesn't want them to see him as a superior being; he wants them to see him as someone approachable (though the future is very changeable).

Once the essence gave him the shop, he knew his travels to other worlds would be ongoing. He's someone who loves adventure; why stay in the shop just granting wishes and that's it? He can go out and actively seek it himself. That's a damn power of his, not a responsibility. While acting as Jhon Desire is something he enjoys and will never stop doing, sometimes just being Jhon is enough.

After thinking about how grateful he is to whoever gave him the essence, he went to the living room, then came back and put on his full suit, along with his shoes. 'Even in the apocalypse you have to keep the elegance.' He thought with a bit of narcissism, adjusting his collar.

After a few seconds of deep breathing to calm his heart for what's coming, he walked toward the parking lot, leaving behind a silence belonging to an abandoned house.

What Jhon didn't know was that in another place, specifically where the three survivors found the quinjet.

A large number of Zombies were gathering around the abandoned plane. Desolation and rot filled the surrounding area.

The Zombies in the horde roared and spat incoherently, expressing their insatiable and endless hunger.

Ironically, they stayed still in their place, perhaps out of fear, perhaps devotion, or perhaps they simply never had a choice.

In the middle of that large horde, in front of the Quinjet, was a very... particular Zombie. A Zombie who, unlike the others, remained calm at all times. Her corroded and grotesque body was accompanied by a very distinctive armor from a place highly sought after and coveted in the past. The armor, previously used to honor the warriors of that nation, was now employed for a different and unnatural cause. It was armor with a dark red tone, golden and copper details, fitted to her, but leaving her hands exposed, which now held a spear.

It was Okoye, the former Leader of the Dora Milaje in Wakanda. Except this time her eyes had a strange red tone, just like all the Zombies around her.

Stopping looking at the Quinjet with her neutral face, she turned her head back. The Zombies, in sync, began to move, leaving a space in the middle for someone to walk.

Then, a Zombie with a bow on his back slowly approached her, limping.

"Avengerrr..." Okoye whispered, looking at him. The red dots in her eyes glowed a bit more.

"I bring you a gift... from your queeeen." He said, his sinister voice echoing in the silence of the environment, looking Zombie Hawkeye straight in the eyes. Zombie Hawkeye returned the gaze with a raised eyebrow, confused.

"Be her riiight hand." She concluded with another whisper upon seeing she had his attention. Okoye's eyes turned redder. "Become her followerrr." She finished saying.

At that moment, Hawkeye's eyes began to turn that same red, losing whatever little rationality he had left, in the process straightening up from his limping posture.

Hello, sorry for the delay, here's chapter 11. I already have 12 and 13 written.

This Daoist got a job and doesn't have as much time anymore, so every Sunday I try to write as much as I can. I've abandoned the Dao of laziness.

Set your alarms, because in an hour I'll upload chapter 12 as compensation.

In chapters 12 and 13 we'll see Jhon fighting and granting 2 wishes.

What did you think of the conversation between the characters? I'd say I improved, but well, someone might spot the mistakes I don't see.

Please leave reviews and power stones, this Daoist feels the fic doesn't have the popularity it deserves...

Hope you enjoyed it. Have a good rest of the day or night.
