I carried my sunbed into the sun to warm up a bit, but less than five minutes later, someone sat next to me. I lazily lifted my head and saw Ryan.
"Can I help you with something?" I murmured.
"You're Luanna, right? The Ohio celebrity?" he asked, lying down.
"Could be. How did you find out?" I asked.
"A guy named Matt told me. He's from there and came here for a short visit."
"Ohh, he's here? Where is he? I need to meet up," I flipped onto my back.
"So you know him?"
"An old friend," I giggled. "Okay, okay, not that old, but a good one."
"I've heard a lot about you. Clubs, parties, friends. Quite an interesting person. And you're only nineteen?" he looked surprised.
"I will be. I'm still eighteen," I laughed.
"Anyway, what are you doing tonight?" he raised an eyebrow.
"I'm meeting up with a friend who will introduce me to another one, probably my future friend, and after that, I'm free," I smiled.
"That works for me. Where will you be and when?"
"Near a big club not far from here. Do you know it? We'll be near it, and I'll finish around half past one."
"How could I not know the best and most famous club in Hawaii?" he laughed.
"See, now you know."
"Have you been inside? Did you like it? What do you think?" he rattled off quickly.
"Why do you care so much about my opinion?" I squinted at him.
"You've been to a lot of clubs and parties, and I'm interested in your opinion about mine," he explained slowly this time.
"Yours? Well, for your information, I haven't been there yet, but I was planning to."
"Well, then we'll go there tonight," he grinned.
"Perfect," I said and flipped back onto my stomach, turning my back to him. I put on my headphones, started playing music, and relaxed.
After a while, the girls came over. Just them.
"You know all the guys here are checking you out?" El asked, lying down on the sunbed next to me.
"Let them look. What difference does it make to me?" I laughed. "-Where are the pink-heads?"
"They decided to do something in the rooms because they were 'tired'," she showed air quotes.
"Understandable, they're guys, after all," I laughed.
Jake's POV:
"How could we forget her birthday?" Niall was hysterical.
"Louis, why are your birthdays on such days? One on Christmas Eve, the other on January 1st when everyone's hungover and all," I sighed.
"I didn't choose when I was born," he frowned. "Blame my mom."
"Instead of fighting, maybe we should plan what we're going to do, because when we get back, we'll have less than two days without a party," Harry interrupted us.
"Alright," I agreed. "Got any ideas?"
"We could throw a surprise party at the fraternity house and invite people with gifts and stuff," Niall suggested.
"I think that will work," Josh agreed.
"So, send messages to the whole college, arrange who gets what, tell them to come with gifts for Luanna at 8 PM on January 1st, and that's it?" I mused.
"What are we going to do until then?" Liam asked a very logical question.
"We could take her to Nando's and pay for everything she eats and drinks?" Niall submitted again.
"I can tell how nervous you are," Liam laughed.
"Not at all!" the blond defended himself.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine. She'll love the gift, when you dare, you'll ask her on a date, you'll become a couple, get married, and live happily ever after," Josh mocked in a sweet voice.
Niall gave him an angry look but didn't say anything.
"Alright..... Let's go see the girls. Remember, we were 'tired'," I reminded them, and we all headed over.
Luanna's POV:
"I'm going for a swim, you guys?" I asked the girls.
"I'm going to sunbathe," El replied.
"Me too," Beth agreed.
"Fine. I'll go alone," I sighed and walked towards the water. I stepped in until the water reached my knees, and I heard someone running into the water. The moment I turned to look, someone literally swept me off my feet and plunged violently into the water with me. I hit the water flat on my back, and I admit, it hurt.
When I surfaced, I saw Josh.
"Revenge executed. It is now December 27th, 5:30 PM. Target hit the water on her back, and the mark is clearly visible. Mission accomplished," he stated and climbed out of the water.
With Niall's help, I stood up and looked at my back. A bright red mark was clearly visible. I sighed deeply and yelled:
"Your hair will show for another month, and my back will recover soon!"
"It was worth it!" he yelled back.
I didn't answer. I ducked under the water briefly, came back up, and headed back to shore. I walked up to the girls and shook my wet hair all over them. They started shrieking, and their boyfriends started laughing, but immediately fell silent when they saw the girls' angry faces.
"Time for you guys to go swimming!" I shouted at them.
"We're already soaked," El grumbled and rolled onto her other side.
"I'm lazy, later," Beth replied. She wasn't as unhappy as El.
"Not fun," I whined, collapsing onto my sunbed.
"I agree," Jake said.
I turned to Ryan, who was still in the same spot.
"Ryan, is Matt's phone number the same?" I asked.
He just nodded. I pulled out my phone and pressed to call Matt.
M: "Hello?"
L: "I heard you're in Hawaii."
M: "Luanna, yes, I am. What's up?"
L: "Want to meet up? I have nothing to do."
M: "You're here too? Alright, where are you?"
L: "At the beach, near Ryan's club."
M: "You even met him? You've practically become famous here. The internet is full of videos of you, and people are talking about you."
L: "Well, look how well things are going."
M: "That's what you're aiming for, isn't it?"
L: "Of course! Where are you right now?"
M: "At the hotel. Um, I'll be over in about five minutes. I think I have an offer for you. I'll tell you when I get there. Bye."
L: "See you."
"What's happening?" Jake asked.
"Matt's coming," I replied.
"Who is Matt?" he was confused.
"The club owner from Ohio."
"The same one who let you into the bar in Ohio, and you came back drunk?"
"Everyone in Ohio lets me into bars, but yes," I answered, slightly annoyed by too many questions. "One of them lets me in here, too."
"Are you serious? How?" Now Louis joined in.
"Connections, man. I told you I'm looking for friends, duh."
"And specifically club owners?" Harry asked.
"No, it just happens that way. By chance, but I'm not complaining. Now, can we stop questioning me?" I grumbled.
"Alright, don't be mad," Louis muttered.
"Luanna!" I heard Matt call, and I immediately stood up.
"Matt!" We hugged right away. "Want to go in the water?"
"Sure," he started walking slowly. "What are you doing here?"
"Well, I'm on vacation, and we decided to spend some time here. We're leaving in two days," I explained. "What about you?"
"Don't think I only have one club," he giggled, and my jaw dropped.
"You have one here too?"
"Yes, Ryan and I are friends, colleagues, and competitors, but I have other clubs, too," he laughed.
"Wow."
"I have an offer for you," I nodded. "Would you like to take care of the music one night?"
"Me?" I was surprised.
"Don't lie, I know you handle all the tech perfectly," he chuckled.
"Of course! Send me a message about the location and when. I'll come tomorrow," I quickly agreed.
"Great. I know you want to stand out here in Hawaii, just like in Ohio," I rolled my eyes. "And I'm happy to help you," he grinned.
