Chapter 13 - 13. Unexpected Company

I reached down, still keeping her tucked against me and picked up the phone.

Nine missed calls from home.

I called back.

"Alex?" Lily's voice was tiny and scared.

"Yeah, Lily. What's wrong?"

"There's someone at the door… he says he's your friend from school." My blood turned to ice.

"Who?"

"He says his name is Mike…" My heart skipped a beat.

"Alex? What's wrong?" Rose whispered, grabbing my hand with a worried face.

"No… nothing," I lied. "I have to go home right now."

I couldn't tell her Mike was standing on my doorstep. She was already stressed enough about her mom.

"Okay…" She pouted a little, but kissed me one more time, soft and quick.

I threw my clothes on in seconds and bolted out the door. I ran as fast as I could, heartbeat hammering like crazy.

'Why the hell is he at my house? Is this a threat? Did he see me that day when I was peeking…?'

I sprinted the last house, lungs burning.

I pushed the front door open after taking a deep breath.

"Lily? Mom?"

Silence at first.

Then Lily poked her head out from the living room, wearing her usual oversized t-shirt, looking perfectly normal.

"Big bro? You okay? You look like you saw a ghost," she said, hopping toward me.

"Where is he? Mike. Where did he go?"

"He left a few minutes ago. I told him you weren't home and he just smiled and said, 'Tell Alex I'll catch him later.' Then he walked away. Weird guy." Lily tilted her head.

I let out the biggest breath of my life. He's gone. He didn't do anything. We're safe… for now.

Mom walked in from the kitchen, still in her yoga pants and tight top, hair in a messy bun.

"Alex? What's with all the running?" She smiled, wiping her hands on a towel. Her huge breasts bounced a little with each step.

"Nothing… just… forgot something," I lied. Mom didn't look convinced, but she let it go.

"Perfect timing, actually. We never did our shopping trip, remember? You're free today, right? Let's go now!"

I opened my mouth to say no, but… getting out of the house suddenly sounded perfect. Away from Mike, away from everything.

"Yeah… sure." It had also been forever since I went out with just Mom.

"Great! Give me ten minutes to change."

Lily's eyes lit up. "I wanna come too!"

Mom shook her head. "Not today, sweetie. You said you weren't feeling well this morning. Stay home and rest."

"But I'm fine now!" Lily pouted, arms crossed. Mom gave her the look, the one that ended every argument.

"Fine… but only if big bro promises to do one thing I ask later." She looked at me with a sneaky grin.

"What thing?" I raised an eyebrow.

"It's a secret~"

I sighed. "Okay, whatever. Promise."

Mom disappeared upstairs to change. I dropped onto the sofa, trying to push Mike's smile out of my head.

Ten minutes later Mom came down and… damn.

She was wearing a simple light-pink blouse and a long cream skirt. Totally modest, long sleeves, skirt to her knees, nothing showing.

But the blouse was thin enough to hint at the shape of her huge breasts. The skirt hugged her hips and that perfect ass every time she moved. Conservative clothes on her body somehow looked sinful.

I looked away fast.

"Ready?" she asked, grabbing her purse.

"Yeah…" We said bye to Lily, still pouting on the sofa and left.

The mall was crowded, normal Saturday noise. Mom was happy, chatting about random stuff, trying on clothes, asking my opinion.

We hopped from shop to shop. All the walking made us hungry.

"Let's grab something to eat," Mom said.

Then I saw them. Aunt Marie and Mike.

Walking together, shopping bags in Mike's hand, Aunt Marie laughing at something he said.

So she really was with him. Lied about "drinks with friends." My blood froze. They hadn't seen us yet.

"Hey, maybe we should–" I grabbed Mom's arm.

Too late.

"Alina? Alex?" Aunt Marie's voice. They walked over.

Aunt Marie looked awkward the second she saw me. Mike just smirked, eyes flicking between me and Mom.

"Marie! And…?" Mom smiled, surprised to see a stranger with her friend.

"This… this is.. " Aunt Marie hesitates thinking for an excuse.

"Mike! I'm a fitness trainer. I was just keeping her company doing shopping" Mike crashed in between introducing himself.

"Oh, how nice! We were just shopping too." Mom believed it. But I knew it was just a lie.

Since childhood as me and Rose always went to each other's house, our parents also became friends. So she trusted her.

"We were done shopping and just going to eat something" Aunt Marie said.

"Hoh! We were planning that, should we go together?" Just what I was afraid of mom proposed to eat together.

I didn't like the idea.

I opened my mouth to say something anything but Mom was already walking ahead, Aunt Marie beside her, talking and giggling.

Mike fell into step next to me and slung an arm across my shoulders like we were best friends.

I hated it, but I couldn't shake him off.

"Alex! Is this your mom?" he asked, voice low and amused.

I just nodded, trying to shrug his arm off.

"She's quite the beauty, huh?" He stared straight at her ass swaying in front of us.

To be continued…
