Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Editor and Colleague

Time quickly arrived at the next day.

Just as Liu Ming had guessed.

There weren't as many customers today.

After all, even the cheapest item cost 3000, so not everyone could come here to eat every day.

But fortunately, this place was located near a commercial street.

There was a constant stream of passersby every day, so there was no need to worry about not having customers.

Moreover, he was confident that as long as he made a name for himself, more people would come here to dine.

"Grandma Doma, you're here today too!"

Tohru had already gotten used to being a waitress. Seeing someone enter, she went to greet them.

"Don't you welcome an old lady?" Grandma Doma said with a chuckle.

"No, not at all!"

"There are very few people today," Grandma Doma looked around and found that there were only a few people in the store.

"Xiao Ming said it's fine. He also said that if it were like yesterday every day, people would get tired easily," Tohru repeated what Liu Ming had said.

"That's true, and the dishes in the store are worth the price. It will get much better once the reputation is established," Grandma Doma wasn't worried.

"Are you having the Clear Soup Noodles again today?" Tohru asked.

"No, today I want to try something new. Do you have any good recommendations?"

"You'll have to ask Xiao Ming about that. I'll go call him out now."

Tohru didn't wait for Grandma Doma to reply and quickly ran to the kitchen.

Grandma Doma was first stunned, then smiled helplessly. "What a lively child."

Soon, Liu Ming came out.

"Grandma Doma, would you like to try the Lily Red Date Porridge today? Lilies calm the mind and nerves, and red dates nourish the stomach and spleen. It's very beneficial for older people, and it tastes very sweet."

"Then I'll go with your suggestion," Grandma Doma didn't object.

Liu Ming didn't stay long. After chatting with Grandma Doma for a couple of sentences, he returned to the kitchen.

Just after Liu Ming returned to the kitchen, two women walked into the restaurant from outside.

One was dressed all in white, the other all in black.

"You mean Teacher Liu lives here?" Natsuno Kirihime, dressed in black, stood at the entrance, constantly surveying the restaurant's layout and the diners.

"This is it. I didn't expect the restaurant to actually reopen. Honestly, he just called out of the blue, saying he was putting down his pen and wouldn't write anymore. No matter how much I tried to persuade him, he wouldn't listen, even hanging up on me directly," Editor Hiiragi Suzuna said with dissatisfaction in her tone.

"Then it's useless for you to bring me here," Natsuno Kirihime said calmly.

"You two are both among the four best-selling young authors in the literary world; you should have common ground. Please help me persuade him. And haven't you always wanted to meet him? Well, I've brought you here," Hiiragi Suzuna said with a bitter face. She really didn't want him to stop writing.

"That's his decision. We outsiders don't understand the situation, so let's not make decisions for him." After Natsuno Kirihime finished speaking, she ignored the unreliable editor.

"I really don't know what Teacher Liu is thinking. Running a restaurant is not as promising as writing. What he's doing is completely abandoning the greater for the lesser," Editor Hiiragi Suzuna still wouldn't give up. Teacher Liu was her ace, and she absolutely couldn't give up on him like this. Otherwise, how would she brag to others in the future?

"This way, ladies," Tohru stepped forward and led the two to an empty table.

"Is Teacher Liu here?" Editor Hiiragi Suzuna asked.

"Who is Teacher Liu?" Tohru asked, puzzled.

"It's Liu Ming, the owner of this store."

"Oh, you're looking for Xiao Ming? He's in the kitchen. Do you have something for him?"

"Can you ask him to come out for a moment? Just tell him that Editor Hiiragi Suzuna is here; he'll understand."

"Okay, I'll go tell him now. Kanna, please help watch the store. If there are new customers, let them look at the menu first," Tohru said to Kanna, who was sitting at the cashier's desk.

"I understand, Lady Tohru," Kanna nodded her small head, occasionally taking a bite of a snack.

She wasn't sitting there to handle the cash register; she was merely acting as the restaurant's mascot.

"It's already noon, why don't we eat here? We can try the taste and then find a reason to persuade him later," Editor Hiiragi Suzuna said to Natsuno Kirihime.

"I don't care, it's all the same where I eat. However, I'm not interested in whether he returns to writing or not. If you want to persuade him, you go yourself; I'm not going," Natsuno Kirihime said haughtily.

"Wow! The prices are too expensive. A simple egg fried rice actually costs 3000!" After looking at the menu, Editor Hiiragi Suzuna couldn't help but exclaim.

"It's so expensive, no wonder there aren't many people in the store," Natsuno Kirihime also nodded in agreement.

"Please enjoy," Liu Ming placed the cooked porridge in front of Grandma Doma, then walked towards Editor Hiiragi Suzuna's table.

"How did you get here?" Liu Ming looked at Editor Hiiragi Suzuna strangely.

"How could I not come? You just called and said you wouldn't write anymore. Did you think about the consequences? Did you think about your readers? Do you know how many people yearn for your achievements and can't get them, yet you just give up?"

Editor Hiiragi Suzuna grew angrier as she spoke, standing up completely.

"Isn't it because I don't have time? And the situation isn't as serious as you make it out to be. If I don't write, someone else will.

You know my family runs a Chinese Restaurant. Now that I'm inheriting the family business, you don't even congratulate me, you actually object! We've known each other for six years, this is truly heartbreaking."

Liu Ming feigned sadness, turning his head to wipe away imaginary tears.

"You're so talented, why would you give up so easily? Don't you think it's a waste?" Hiiragi Suzuna didn't believe his nonsense. She had been tricked by him many times when she came to rush his manuscripts, so she was immune now.

"I'm not really against you reopening the Chinese Restaurant, but can't you hire people? You're not short on money. What kind of boss does everything himself?"

"Ah, there are all sorts of reasons," Liu Ming shrugged.

"I will absolutely not acknowledge this talk of retiring," Editor Hiiragi Suzuna shook her head.

"Whatever you like. Anyway, I've already decided. Never mind, let's not talk about this. Since you're here today, this meal is on me. Order whatever you like."

"I will definitely convince you." Editor Hiiragi Suzuna wasn't distracted by him, her gaze fixed intently on Liu Ming.

Liu Ming could only offer a bitter smile. Honestly, Editor Hiiragi Suzuna's personality truly made him a little scared.

Her personality was exceptionally fervent, and she would go to great lengths for her authors. As long as it helped an author's creation, she would even resort to illegal means. She was an extremely dangerous person.

"And this is?" Liu Ming had to continue changing the subject. He had a faint guess about the beautiful woman with long black hair, dressed all in black, in front of him.

"She's another teacher I'm responsible for. You've definitely heard of her pen name. She's Teacher Akiyama Shinobu, one of the four young bestselling authors in the literary world, just like you. Isn't she beautiful? Don't you feel a flutter in your heart?" Editor Hiiragi Suzuna continued her daily flirtation with death.

Natsuno Kirihime couldn't take it anymore and gave her a sharp rap on the head.
