Chapter 50: Raditz's Tremendous Power Increase
The Senzu Bean entered his mouth. Raditz instinctively chewed and swallowed.
As the Senzu Bean settled in his stomach, the previously dying Raditz—like experiencing a final surge—directly sat up.
Meanwhile, Turles wore a thoughtful expression.
Just now, Turles had intended using his mental power to explore Senzu Beans' functional mechanisms and reasons for Saiyans' massive strength increases after recovering from critical injuries. But everything happened too quickly. Before Turles discovered anything, Raditz had already recovered.
WHOOSH!
While Turles still contemplated, he suddenly heard air-breaking sounds. Bodily instinct made Turles sharply retreat, directly dodging this strike.
Looking up, Turles discovered the attacker was actually Raditz.
Current Raditz's face showed rage. Undisguised hatred fell upon Turles. His aura also began continuously rising—quickly breaking through the 10,000 threshold.
Turles just happened to want seeing how much Raditz could improve after this near-death recovery. So he didn't immediately explain. Instead, he disdainfully watched him, eyes revealing slight provocation.
Nearly losing rationality to fury, seeing this, Raditz felt even more resentful. The final thread completely snapped. He shouted loudly, no longer caring about strength differences with Turles, directly charging toward him.
Raditz's speed was already quite fast. At least aside from Deru, the present group's naked eyes could barely track his movements. But Turles's movements were faster.
Before Raditz even reached Turles, Turles merely sidestepped—perfectly dodging Raditz's attack.
After evading Raditz's assault, Turles didn't strike back. He just continuously provoked Raditz while dodging under his attacks.
No matter how Raditz attacked, Turles always found his openings, then easily evaded strikes.
In just minutes, Raditz had already launched thousands upon thousands of attacks toward Turles. Unfortunately, he hadn't harmed even a single hair.
This made Raditz even angrier. His attack speed grew increasingly rapid.
However, Raditz and Turles's battle made watching Goku's eyes shine. Though somewhat labored, Goku—relying on his excellent combat talent—barely captured both fighters' movements.
Goku had never witnessed such powerful confrontation. Comparing his previous battles felt like children playing house. This made him internally begin contemplating whether he should follow Turles's suggestion—exploring the universe.
But current Turles felt somewhat disappointed by Raditz's performance. Compared to Goku, Raditz seemed genuinely underwhelming.
Not asking whether Raditz possessed his brother Goku's protagonist aura—able to dramatically increase battle power to hundreds of thousands or millions through single critical injuries.
Even if Raditz could improve to 100,000+ battle power this time, Turles wouldn't feel threatened by Raditz. Instead, he'd be extremely happy.
Because as Turles's strength increased, he'd discovered himself currently in a power gap period.
Take Frieza—his strength was too powerful. Turles currently wasn't his match. Even with Great Ape power transformation, charging forward meant only death.
Meanwhile, protagonist team members like Goku and Vegeta hadn't entered rapid growth periods yet. Battling them didn't significantly improve Turles. He wasn't Goku—unable to find battle joy even from much weaker opponents.
So currently Turles faced an awkward situation. The fighters he knew were either unbeatable now or hadn't grown yet. That's why encountering Guru on Planet Mokka had overexcited him, nearly destroying the planet.
If Raditz could dramatically improve strength through this critical injury, Turles would be extremely happy having an opponent.
Unfortunately, as their battle progressed, Turles discovered Raditz's aura had stopped increasing. According to Turles's perception, Raditz's current battle power was only around 50,000.
Perhaps for Raditz, jumping from 8,000 to 50,000 represented massive improvement. But for current Turles, this was somewhat insufficient.
Since Raditz's strength hadn't reached his anticipated level, Turles lost desire continuing battle. He directly closed in, phantom-like appearing before Raditz's eyes.
Turles stared at Raditz with cold eyes, hand resting on his shoulder, coldly stating: "Enough, Raditz!"
Jolted by Turles's voice, Raditz's courage receded like tidewater. He looked at Turles with frightened expression, alarmed: "Turles, I..."
Turles removed his hand from Raditz's shoulder. He looked deeply at him without saying anything, just slowly descending to ground level.
Actually, within ten minutes of exchanging blows with Raditz, Turles had discovered he'd already recovered from fury. Just blinded by suddenly increased battle power, wanting to borrow anger for challenging Turles.
This was common among Saiyans. Even Goku had many instances of post-strength-increase overconfidence, immediately getting reckless. The most typical was the Cell arc—directly costing his own life.
This time Raditz was the same. Suddenly jumping from 8,000 to 50,000 battle power—normal state battle power too. No wonder he'd become somewhat arrogant, actually wanting to challenge Turles's position.
However, Turles also understood Saiyan nature. So this time he only gave Raditz a warning. He believed Raditz could comprehend it. Otherwise, Turles didn't mind eliminating him—even as one of the few surviving Saiyans.
The moment Turles landed, Kami and Deru couldn't wait approaching him. Deru asked somewhat urgently: "Turles, what just happened?"
"Nothing! Just conducted an experiment."
After Raditz's battle, Turles currently lacked interest. After blandly answering Deru, he walked to the Lookout's side, sitting cross-legged on the ground, beginning closed-eye meditation.
Kami and Deru exchanged glances, faces full of confusion.
Meanwhile, Goku seemed to have discovered something—pestering Master Korin, requesting Senzu Beans from him.
So never think Goku was merely simple-minded. Once combat was involved, his IQ immediately skyrocketed. Look—just from watching Turles's operation, Goku had understood the underlying mystery.
Currently, he wanted obtaining one Senzu Bean from Korin, then experimenting himself.
"Goku, this isn't a small matter. How can you think this way?"
Master Korin continued persuading Goku, wanting him to abandon that unreliable idea.
Turns out just now, Goku had actually wanted Korin to beat him half-dead like Turles had done, then give him a Senzu Bean to see if he could improve strength like Raditz.
Must admit, Goku sometimes had "little cleverness." But upright Korin couldn't possibly agree to his request. Hence the continuous persuasion of Goku.
Hearing their conversation, Deru and Kami exchanged glances, seemingly discovering something.
