Chapter 51: Dragon Balls
Despite Goku's persistent coaxing, Master Korin still refused his unreliable idea. This left Goku somewhat disappointed.
However, Goku quickly tossed this matter aside, sidling up to Turles to seek his guidance.
Since Turles wanted to recruit Goku to Red Stone Planet, he naturally wouldn't hide anything. Though his methods might not suit current Goku, he selected a few training techniques to share.
"Gravity chamber?"
Goku felt little about merging with environments for enlightenment. Instead, he was quite interested in the gravity chamber Turles mentioned.
"Yes, gravity chamber." Seeing Goku's interest, Turles explained in detail.
"Take Earth—this planet's gravity roughly equals one standard gravity unit. Meanwhile, the Saiyans' former homeworld, Planet Vegeta, possessed ten times Earth's gravity. So Saiyans lived under 10x gravity from birth. Overall strength far exceeded most universal species. This is one reason Saiyans are called a warrior race."
"Ten times?" The speaker was Kami. Somehow, everyone had gathered around Turles.
Glancing at Kami, Turles continued: "Training under high-multiplier gravity thoroughly exercises both flesh and internal ki. This isn't comparable to carrying boulders or wearing weighted clothing."
Speaking to this point, Turles paused, meaningfully glancing at Goku's clothing.
"However, gravity chambers aren't easy to construct. They require advanced technology. If our ship weren't from the Mercenary Union—unable to modify gravity chambers—we could show you."
Finishing, Turles sighed regretfully for effect.
The simple-minded Goku didn't catch Turles's deeper meaning. Instead, he muttered to himself: "Wonder if Bulma could build a gravity chamber? She's the smartest!"
"Right—we have Dragon Balls!" Goku clapped his hands, shouting somewhat excitedly.
"Dragon Balls? Like the ones on Namek?" Turles followed up with feigned surprise, then looked at Kami with heated eyes. "You're a Dragon Clan Namekian? Earth has Dragon Balls too?"
"Goku!" Kami first looked at Goku somewhat reproachfully before helplessly nodding to Turles.
Kami didn't want many people knowing about Dragon Balls. Through his earlier conversation with Deru, he'd learned about the universe's darkness. If news leaked that Earth possessed Dragon Balls, Earth would face endless troubles.
But what Kami didn't know—one of Turles's most important Earth visit purposes was precisely the Dragon Balls. Otherwise, he might have skipped Earth entirely and gone straight to Namek.
However, since the Dragon Ball topic had emerged, Turles no longer hid his intentions. He directly proposed to Kami his desire to use the Dragon Balls. After considering, Kami agreed to Turles's request.
As for Goku, after learning Turles's request, he said nothing. Instead, his face showed happiness. He even proposed leading everyone to borrow the Dragon Radar from Bulma while asking about gravity chambers.
Since Goku had gone this far, Turles naturally wouldn't be polite. He immediately prepared to find Bulma with Goku.
But at this moment, Goku's stomach rumbled. He looked at Turles with an embarrassed expression.
Though somewhat anxious internally, since he'd already agreed with Goku, Turles no longer rushed. Moreover, thinking he could taste Earth cuisine, Turles also felt somewhat hungry.
Seeing this, Kami immediately instructed Popo to prepare food for everyone.
While everyone waited, Raditz tugged Turles's clothing, asking: "Turles, what are Dragon Balls?"
Turles considered briefly before simply introducing Dragon Balls' origins to Raditz.
"What? They can grant any wish?"
After listening, Raditz couldn't help himself—excitedly looking at Turles, eyes flickering with heat.
Turles knew this situation would arise after telling Raditz. He could guess Raditz's thoughts—nothing more than using Dragon Balls for immortality or similar wishes.
"Raditz, abandon that idea. Dragon Balls aren't omnipotent. Some wishes can't be granted. Even if fulfilled, you'll pay unimaginable prices!" Turles threw cold water on Raditz.
'Unless they're Super Dragon Balls!' Turles added internally.
Raditz remained somewhat unwilling: "But they could..."
Turles directly waved, interrupting Raditz's words, seriously stating: "Just follow my lead on this matter."
"Fine! You're the boss—you decide!"
Though still somewhat reluctant, Raditz didn't dare oppose Turles. He could only give up.
Meanwhile, nearby Kami and Deru—hearing Turles's words—silently exchanged glances. Their wariness toward Turles completely vanished.
Soon, everyone sat at a giant table, beginning to feast heartily.
Must admit, Earth cuisine truly lived up to praise from even Beerus and Whis. Even with Popo's simple preparation, everything tasted far better than anything Turles had eaten throughout the universe.
However, Popo obviously hadn't anticipated Saiyan appetites. Goku alone could nearly empty the Lookout's food stores. Not to mention adding Turles and Raditz.
Helplessly, Popo had to ride his magic carpet down Korin Tower, purchasing massive quantities of food before barely filling these three Saiyans' stomachs.
After eating and drinking their fill, Turles and Raditz followed behind Goku's Flying Nimbus, flying toward Bulma's home in West City.
En route, watching Goku unable even to fly, Raditz immediately exploded with anger, mocking: "Kakarot, you're a Saiyan! How can you not even fly?!"
Goku scratched his head, confused: "Bukujutsu? I know it! But my technique isn't proficient yet. Flight speed is very slow—not as good as Flying Nimbus!"
"You..." Raditz was too angry to speak.
"Alright, Raditz. Kakarot's battle power is still low. Even flying couldn't be sustained long. Say less." Finishing, Turles turned to Goku, admonishing: "Kakarot, you'd better practice flight more. Many powerful warriors battle in midair. So if your flight isn't proficient, you'll likely suffer greatly."
Hearing Turles's admonishment, Goku nodded, agreeing: "I will, Boss!"
"Boss?" Turles felt somewhat confused.
"My brother calls you Boss. Shouldn't I call you Boss?" Goku replied somewhat innocently.
"Haha! Boss—works for me! From now on, call me Boss. I've got your back! Hahaha!" Turles laughed loudly, acknowledging Goku as his follower.
Being called "Boss" by Goku made Turles extremely happy. But he didn't know—because of today's decision, how much future trouble he'd face, making him wish he could travel through time to strangle his past self!
This scene made Raditz even angrier. He felt since gaining this brother, nothing looked right. Now even his Boss was being stolen.
"Hmph!" After a cold snort, Raditz directly accelerated, leaving both Turles and Goku behind.
Goku felt somewhat baffled. Scratching his head, he asked Turles confusedly: "Boss, what's wrong with him?"
Turles guessed some of Raditz's psychology. Somewhat amused, he shook his head, saying irritably: "He's having a fit!"
"Oh!" Goku nodded trustingly. After a long while, as if remembering something, he exclaimed: "But Bulma's home isn't that direction! Big brother got the direction wrong!"
"..."
