Ana's POV
This was the first time since I'd known Morris that I'd ever heard him speak to me like this.
He'd always respected my dignity and never attempted to meddle in my personal affairs. But now, he was stating his expectations clearly, making his demands known. His tone carried more gravity than I'd ever heard before.
I felt momentarily speechless. But when I understood that Morris was simply concerned about me, I offered a gentle smile.
"Don't worry, I plan to divorce him soon. Really, there's no need for you to be concerned about me," I told him.
But Morris's frown remained fixed. He stepped directly toward me. He gazed at me and said, "If the divorce seems too complicated, just tell me, and I'll handle it for you."
"No, that won't be needed," I responded quickly, my resistance obvious.
Morris simply watched me, remaining silent.
"This is my matter. Please don't get involved," I said quietly, looking away from his gaze.
