I was convinced that somewhere in the depths of hell, Satan grew tired of his usual minions and decided he needed fresh entertainment. So he crafted himself a perfect little demon, and that demon was Cathrine.
Her victorious grin stayed plastered across her face, as if she had just claimed some grand prize simply by showing up and announcing her intention to move in. Alana shattered the uncomfortable silence, her voice cutting through the thick tension like a blade.
"I barely know Gordon, but I actually feel sorry for him having to endure the agony of being with someone like you."
Cathrine's smug expression crumbled instantly. She stepped forward aggressively, but I quickly positioned myself between them.
"Jefferson told everyone to keep things civil," I stated firmly, meeting her hostile stare. "So both of you need to behave." I turned to survey the moving trucks again, releasing a heavy sigh.
