Chapter 2 - Chapter 2. A little bit about screens.

After the man's statement on screen, viewers were stunned, skeptical of his words, while others were thrilled at the opportunity to glimpse a completely new and unfamiliar world.

Universe: Undertale.

The Skeleton Brothers' House.

"Wowwwww. Can you believe it, Sans?! A whole new world," says the tall skeleton excitedly, and the white dots in his skull's eye sockets take the shape of stars.

"Yeah," the shorter skeleton replies uncertainly.

He could believe that these screens were harmless. But another world? It sounded too fantastic. He had, of course, read the theory about other universes and even believed in it to some extent. But to see proof? It sounded crazy.

Even before these screens appeared, Sans was going to go to the forest leading to Toriel's house to, as in previous timelines, meet a person from behind and play a prank on them with a whoopee cushion. As usual. But now he was at home, waiting to see what they would show him. It was strange and unfamiliar. He urgently needed to lie down and rest. Once he saw the world beyond the dungeon, it wouldn't be so bad.

Sans lay down on the floor, and the screen lowered and flew a little closer to his face.

"Comfy," he says.

"Saaan! Get up, lazy bones! What's the sofa here for? Lie on it."

"But it's so comfortable here."

"Saaan!"

Universe: DC

Justice League Headquarters.

"Is he serious?" asks the beautiful woman incredulously.

"Relax, Wonder Woman. At least we know these screens are harmless," says a man dressed in a red suit with a yellow lightning bolt tongue.

"Harmless. But that's for now," says another man dressed in black, whose wings resemble those of a bat.

He sat in front of a monitor, watching surveillance cameras to keep track of order in the city.

"Even if we think nothing bad will happen, we must not let our guard down."

"Batman is right, we cannot allow any mistakes that could harm innocent people."

The figure with an "S" emblazoned on his chest stood next to him.

"What if they turn out to be harmless after all?"

"We can't take that risk, Flash. Considering the enemies we've had to deal with, it's better to be prepared for anything."

"I understand," he nodded.

Unnoticed by everyone, Flash quickly put the popcorn in the microwave using his super speed. Then he returned to his seat. Superman rolled his eyes.

On the screen.

"I realize that my statement may cause some representatives of different worlds to be skeptical, and I can understand that."

He smiled, then a remote control with a single red button appeared in his hand.

"But take my word for it. You can see an infinite number of worlds with minor or major differences. Right now, I'll show you small fragments that I've seen."

Suddenly, fragments of different worlds began to appear on the screens.

In one, a bald man in a yellow jumpsuit was fighting a one-eyed monster that emitted some kind of energy, destroying everything around it.

In another, a large lizard-like monster was shown spewing clumps of energy. And that's not even taking into account the other fragments. There were many of them.

Off screen

Scientists clutched their heads, those who thirsted for knowledge were ready to almost shout with joy. And ordinary people could only stare at the screens in shock and amazement.

Universe: Attack on Titan.

Season One. After joining the reconnaissance corps.

A young man with slightly long blond hair pointed to one of the fragments.

"Eren, Mikasa, look, it's the ocean! You can see a real ocean."

His eyes shone brightly with childlike excitement, just like when he showed them a book with a picture of the ocean when he was a child.

"It really is him." That was all Eren said.

The girl with black hair and a red scarf could only stare in amazement at the worlds shown to her.

To be fair, she wasn't the only one who felt that way. Everyone who lived within the walls, those who had never thought about what lay beyond them, felt their worldview turned upside down. Some felt envy, because surely there was a world without Titans. Others, seeing monsters from other worlds, thought that Titans weren't so scary after all.

Erwin Smith, captain of the 13th Scout Regiment, stared at the screen with an unreadable expression on his face. He was sitting in his office with a short man and a woman wearing glasses. He had been going about his business when the screens appeared. He immediately gave the order not to panic, calming his people, and told them to wait for instructions. Thanks to his charisma, the people obeyed his order without question. But what finally calmed the soldiers down, ironically, were the screens themselves, which had been the cause of the brief panic.

"Unbelievable. He's so huge. Wait! It's magic. How can a human being jump so high?!" With a blush on her cheeks, the woman with glasses brought her face close to the screen. Turning her head, she tried to capture every little detail, muttering excitedly.

"She's crazy," another man remarked on her behavior.

"Overall, she's understandable," said Erwin, glancing at Levi. Then he asked, "What do you think about this?"

Levi looked at his screen and replied, "We should sort out our own world first."

"I see."

On the screen

The man continued, "As I said earlier, I am an observer. And as my 'name' suggests, I observe every world, every event that unfolds. And one day, I decided it was unfair that only I could see this, so I created these screens."

He waved his hand again, and the familiar screen appeared next to him.

"Every screen in your world is a window into amazing stories, incredible things, and all kinds of wonders. I'll say in advance that you may find some things strange, or the actions of its inhabitants themselves," continued the observer. "Other worlds are other worlds, each with its own rules and characteristics that may be beyond your own perception. I hope this will be of benefit to you."

The man pressed the remote he had created earlier, and the screen began to turn off.

"Oh yes, the worlds will be selected at random, so be prepared to see scary and frightening worlds."

The screen turned off. Then a timer appeared - 30 seconds. It immediately began counting down.

Other worlds

While watching this video, everyone had mixed feelings. Some were excited about what they had seen earlier and were looking forward to what they might see next. Others were wary and hoped they wouldn't be shown anything scary. A few were not particularly interested.

The Universe: RWBY

Beacon Academy cafeteria.

"Those last words were a bit unnecessary," said the tall blond man with blue eyes.

"I agree," said the pretty girl with a red hooded cloak on her shoulders, trembling slightly.

Ruby was frightened by the mere thought of seeing something scary or creepy. No, she wasn't a coward at all. She easily dealt with those thugs led by Roman Torchwick, and she could easily behead a Grimm. Director Ozpin himself recognized her talent. So she wasn't a coward.

"Come on, sis, are you still afraid of ghosts?" The long-haired blonde looked at Ruby with a smirk. As the older sister, she couldn't pass up the chance to tease her younger sister.

"Isn't that so?" Ruby protested.

"It's so silly to be afraid of something that doesn't exist," the white-haired girl rolled her eyes. "How can you be afraid of ghosts?"

"When we were kids, we secretly watched a horror movie behind our father's back. After that, she didn't leave her room for three days."

"No, Yan." Ruby lowered her head to the table in despair.

"But what if they show us a world where ghosts really exist?" Ruby looked at Pirra gratefully.

"That makes sense." The black-haired girl with a large bow looked at the screen with interest. "We've already seen small fragments, so we shouldn't rule out that possibility.

"She's right! What if they show us a robot battle? Or another explosion? Renny, you need to make pancakes, lots of pancakes. Oh, we also need to see the machine for traveling between worlds," chattered the girl with short hair.

The aforementioned guy glanced at his sister/girlfriend's plate, noticing the absence of a mountain of pancakes. It wasn't the first time he had to deal with Nora's enormous appetite for pancakes.

"Nora, we can't build a machine for traveling between worlds, it's physically impossible for us."

"Silly Renny, who said we can't look at the screens to see the technology? Maybe we'll see a blueprint of the machine? Or how they build them?"

Rennie could only sigh and pray that the screens wouldn't show what she wanted them to.

The Universe: A Tale of the End of the World.

The gods could only stare blankly at the screen. Stunned by what they saw, how people, whom they considered pathetic creatures, contrary to their expectations, were doing crazy things that were beyond their comprehension. Maybe this would make them reconsider their views on mortals? But...

"Surely this power was given to them by the gods."

"Yes! They should be grateful to the gods."

"Mortals are not worthy of such power."

They were too proud to admit it.

Thor did not show any emotion, but his hand gripped Mjolnir tightly. Earlier, he had not expected to see anything interesting, but suddenly he was shown battles: monsters, humans, and strange creatures. He saw a bald man take the head of a giant with a single blow, a giant who could easily put the titans of his world to shame. He saw a white-haired man with an eye patch use destructive magic. Thor wondered, "Does he have the strength to stand up to them?" The thought excited him, but then he remembered that these were other worlds, and they did not exist in his world. The thought angered and annoyed him. Were there really no opponents here capable of challenging him, no opponents capable of standing up to him?

Brunhilda looked at the stunned faces of the gods with a smirk.

"Look at their faces, Geir. The gods who looked down on humans are sitting and watching as they are poked in the face with the opposite. And watching them furiously deny it is a feast for the eyes. I hope this shoves their pride up their asses."

She smiled happily, anticipating what the screens might show next. Preferably something that would humiliate the gods. Gel looked at her uncertainly.

Meanwhile, Poseidon looked at the screen with irritation. Why should he look at worms? Even if they are from another world, it doesn't change anything. If they are mortals, then there is someone who created them, which means there are gods there too. He held the same opinion as most of the gods.

On the screen.

The timer finally reached zero. The screen emitted an alert signal. The screen darkened and the words "Just one hit" appeared, followed by a poster depicting a bald man with a dull and unremarkable expression on his face. He was wearing a yellow jumpsuit, red gloves and boots on his hands and feet, and a white cloak with yellow inserts attached to his back.

Other universes.

The sight of the silly-looking man provoked laughter, facepalming, or bewilderment. It was impossible to take this man seriously, and his outfit only provoked ridicule.

Universe: My Hero Academia.

After moving into the dormitory.

In the large building where the students of the YUE Academy had moved, a group of teenagers gathered on the first floor. They were heatedly discussing what they had seen. Some were amazed by what they had seen, while others were frightened.

"Judging by the name, one hit is enough for him to lose," said a blond teenager with a lightning bolt-like design on his hair, drinking soda.

"That's not manly, dude," said a red-haired guy with big teeth.

"Yes, Kaminari, it's disrespectful to an adult stranger, especially a hero, considering his clothes. You can't judge him by his appearance alone," said the tall guy with glasses, waving his hand like a robot, lamenting his classmate.

"Okay, I get it, Iida, don't get so worked up," the boy raised his hands in a calming gesture.

"What do you think, Deku?"

The boy with green hair looked up from his notes and glanced first at his friend, then at the man on the screen.

"Hm?"

"Well, Iida said he looks like a hero, judging by his clothes. Do you think he could be from our world?"

Deko looked closely at the man, searching his memory for any forums or news related to heroes.

"I don't know. I haven't seen any mention of such a hero," he said, shaking his head.

Just in case, he drew him in his notebook with the note "hero analysis."

A couple of guys entered the dormitory.

"Hey guys, we brought snacks," shouted a lanky guy whose elbows were strangely deformed and had holes for tape.

"You're just in time. It should start soon," said the girl with pink skin

was the one who came up with the idea of snacks.

Suddenly, everyone fell silent and looked at the big screen. It was convenient for the whole crowd to watch.

The Universe: The Avengers.

Movie one. After defeating Loki.

Thor sat on the table, barely holding back his laughter. The costume, and Saitama himself, looked ridiculously absurd. When it was first shown, Thor almost choked on his beer and spilled a few drops on his clothes.

"This guy isn't in the database," said Tony Stark, typing something on the computer. "This individual is not found in the government repository either." He received several suspicious looks in response.

"How do you have access to the government data system?" asks the black man.

"Come on, James, with my genius mind, do you think I can't find access to some government system?" Taking a bottle of alcohol, Stark poured himself some into a glass.

"I see."

Tony took the glass of expensive drink, took a sip, and examined the man's costume on the screen.

"You'd only wear something like that to a children's party. And with a suit like that, even Banner looks more colorful in comparison. No offense."

Bruce shrugged; he really did give the impression of being an ordinary, unremarkable person.

"Appearances can be deceiving," he replied. Most agreed with this, remembering his transformation into the Hulk.

Hawkeye had developed a habit of being more attentive than usual while working, and thanks to his keen eyesight, he was able to see how, in one of the fragments, this bald man was fighting an alien one-eyed creature. Therefore, he said without hesitation:

"He's much stronger than he looks. I'm sure of it."

"Well, we'll just have to wait and see what they show us."

Universe: One Punch Man

Saitama was a little disappointed when it turned out that the screens were harmless and were something like a TV. Disappointed, he decided to return to his apartment, as he was tired of the multiple glances of passersby who were looking at him with interest.

"Teacher, what do you think they'll show?" Genos was a little surprised when the first person they decided to show was his teacher. But he quickly accepted it and was even happy, because people would finally learn that his teacher was the strongest person on earth.

Saitama did not share Genos' thoughts, but he still had to say something.

"Most likely, me killing monsters with a single blow, as usual."

"I see."

Meanwhile, the higher-ups at the Hero Association were discussing the bald hero.

"His name is Saitama, his heroic name is 'Bald Cloak'. He lives in the city of Z. He was recently promoted to 7th rank B-class after participating in a battle against invaders from space," concluded one of the employees.

"Since he's so inconspicuous, why did these screens decide to show him?" another man scanned the text with his eyes again, where the information about him was written. "Apart from his record in the physical fitness test, there is nothing special about him."

"Most likely, they will show us his death. If we refer to the title, we can assume that he will be killed with a single blow, possibly by a tiger-level or demon-level monster," a woman said. "We'd better prevent his death if we don't want to ruin the image of the Associations."

Suddenly, a voice spoke up.

"I have a question. How did we decide that the screens will show the future? What if they show events happening in real time or in the past?"

"It's not clear yet, but if they show us the future, as Ms. Sona said, we will try to prevent it and eliminate the monster if it appears." The man nodded, then stood up from the table. "Any more questions?"

When no one said anything, he nodded.

"I think our meeting has come to an end, and there is no point in continuing."

Everyone gathered here nodded as well and began to quietly gather their things and leave the room.
