Cain's strides were long and powerful. When he merely quickened his pace, Saphen almost had to jog just to keep up.
Cain did not care about the eyes of onlookers. He grabbed Saphen and pulled him straight out of the bar, all the way to the car.
The car door was already open, waiting for them. Cain shoved Saphen directly into the back seat. Only then did Saphen's pale, bare back come into view.
Saphen braced both hands against the seat. The curve of his back was laid bare, unmistakably clear. A gemstone ornament rested in the hollow of his lower back, flickering as it moved with each of Saphen's breaths.
Cain froze. Then his breathing grew heavy. His gaze locked onto that spot, almost unable to shift even a fraction. At first there was daze, and then the anger in his eyes nearly spilled over.
Saphen dressed like this, going to a bar, sitting with those people?!
And he had even… confessed?
A laugh of unclear meaning sounded from above.
