''Hey!''. The man shouts as he runs towards them at full speed.
''AHHHH!''. Everyone screams as Tick hides.
The man rushes in taking a swing with his weapon with his eyes closed as Aira and Togata dodge it.
''Hey! Mister! Calm down please!''. Togata says with his hands out.
''Are you insane!''. Aira shouts.
The man stops realizing they are just kids.
''Oh, it's just kids....My apologies really, they're just lots of thieves and raiders around here, they've taken my crops for years, just protecting what's mine''. The man explains.
''Yeah no problem sir...We aren't like that really''. Togata explains.
''Well, glad I didn't take anyone's head off or that would have been a problem huh?''. The man jokes laughing deeply.
Aira just stares at Togata as though the two are looking at a crazy person.
''Anyway, what are you two kids doing on my farm?''. The man asks as Togata and Aira get nervous.
''I'm glad you're not stealing cause I can't see any sacks on ya, but better not turn this into a make out location for you youngins, don't wanna see that on my farm either, could scare away investors''. The man says.
''We are not a couple!". Aira shouts.
''Oh aren't ya now? That makes you even more suspicous in my eyes''. The farmer says holding up his weapon once more.
''Huh?''. Aira says worried.
''Young master Togata! Look, the tool the man is holding, it is similar to yours is it not!?''. Tick says in Togata's head.
''Yeah, do you think?''. Togata replies.
''Yes, ask the man to work, so we may use that tool to practice, if we do not know how to give you some motivation when you transform we could at least work on your weapon skills''. Tick says.
Aira and the man argue in the background as Togata speaks up.
''Mister....I'm actually here cause, I wanted to find some work, of course if you would allow''. Togata asks.
''Heh?! What the hell are you talking about?''. Aira asks.
''Now that's more like it kid, you should have gotten straight to the point, ok, help me harvest this wheat and I'll pay ya at the end of the day, and is your girl here working as well? That's a bit odd for a date in my opinion''. The man says.
''What!? Huh!? No! We are not doing this! You're on your own!''. Aira says as she walks away.
''Aira...''. Togata sighs.
''Woah, I don't know much about the love aspect but here's a tip kid, don't take ya girlfriend on dates at a farm, she looks pissed''.
''No...she's not...''. Togata says as he is cut off by the man.
''So get to work kid I ain't paying ya to stand around, here take this''. The man says as he hands Togata a tool.
''I actually prefer a scythe? Do you have anything like that here?''. Togata asks.
''A scythe!? My goodness kid, that thing's old fashioned as hell, barely anyone uses those anymore sorry but you're just gonna have to make due with this sickle here''. The man says.
''Accept, I believe I have an idea''. Tick says.
''Sure, I'll take it''. Togata replies.
''Yeah, I just figured since I don't know how to use a scythe, it would make sense to get experience anyway I can, although this isn't a scythe''. Togata says staring at it.
''Well that is not a problem''. Tick says as he grabs an arm from the scarecrow and some rags, tying it to the end of the sickle to extend it.
''Now, I believe we must harvest!''. Tick jokes.
''Uh huh, you're doing this next time''. Togata says as he begins to use the scythe to take out the wheat sheaves.
''Try to work on your technique while your at it young master, you might not have time to finish harvesting and then practice afterwards''. Tick says as he sits down enjoying the sight.
''I feel like you're enjoying this a bit too much''. Togata says.
''Well....Forgive me young master I am, nothing like a day's hard work to build character you know?''. Tick jokes.
Togata sighs as he continues using the scythe after he tries to work on his technique, slicing, thrusts and practicing things he saw death do. The sun setting as he continues.
''How did he.... send out attacks like that?''. Togata asks panting.
''I watched him carefully although I do not have a clue''. Tick replies.
''This is ridiculous, I need more time''. Togata says.
''That is quite Ironic young master, I believe the man is on ''. Tick says.
The man comes back as he is stunned by how quickly he did it.
''Damn kid, you must really be in shape, I'm impressed. Here's your pay''. The man says handing him some money.
''It's ok, I don't really need money''. Togata says with a smile.
''Huh? Then what do you want kid, I have to pay you somehow''. The man says.
''Actually I would like this if you don't mind''. Togata says holding up the makeshift scythe.
''Ingenious as always young master''. Tick says.
''I see you've modified it to your liking, you really have an interest in scythes don't you?''. The farmer asks suspiciously.
Togata just smiles.
''Well, I guess so, just if you promise to come work again tomorrow I have more stuff I'd like ya to do agreed?''. The man asks.
''Agreed''. Togata replies as they shake hands.
Togata walks off back to the others as they just finished training as well.
''Toga....Togata, you're here''. Jiji pants as he lies on the floor.
''Yeah! Where the hell were you all day, you missed lunch too''. Momo says suspicious.
''Just training, we should go eat dinner, I'm exhausted''. Togata says shrugging off the question.
''Yeah''. Jiji and Mr Mantis Shrimp say together.
Everyone goes inside and sits waiting as they eat.
''So where were ya, I've been asking Aira but she's acting suspicious, especially when she came back all pissed''. Momo says investigating him.
Togata looks at Aira, who turns away guilty.
''No where, just training on my own, I'm more used to it you know?''. Togata says.
''Uh huh? But you're not gonna fight on your own are you? So what kind of training where you doing?''. Momo asks.
''Just, physical fitness training, I can't really use my power cause I'd need a way to replenish my life force, I have to save it for the battle after all''. Togata replies.
''Yeah....But your hair is slightly less blue in my opinion''. Momo says touching it.
''You're seeing things''. Togata says.
''Am I?''. Momo says as she grabs him in a choke hold.
''Miss Ayase, please refrain from killing your teammates''. Tick says.
''Oh he's tryna protect ya, even more suspicious''. Momo says.
He's trying to protect me cause you're killing me!''. Togata shouts choking.
''Tell me you're secrets! What are you doing all alone in the woods with Aira coming to check up on ya!? And what's that!''. Momo shouts as she points at the scythe in the corner.
Togata can't deny it anymore as he looks at everyone staring at him.
''Fine, I could barely do damage to the aliens, so I'm trying to find a way to be more useful, does that satisfy your curiosity?''. Togata asks.
''Why didn't you just say so, trying to be all mysterious, why are all guys like this''. Momo says as she begins eating.
''Yeah dude no need to hide from us really, we're a team''. Jiji says.
''Yeah, guess so, how's Okarun Mr Mantis Shrimp''. Togata asks.
''He's stable but, still no progress''. Mr Mantis Shrimp replies.
''I would like to help heal him but I need to conserve my life force''. Togata says.
''It's alright, I'm sure he will come through eventually''. Mr Mantis Shrimp says.
''Yeah...''. Momo says.
''Well, we have to go to sleep, we have more training tommorow''. Aira says.
''Ugh! If doze aliens just want deez nuts they can take em and leave! I'm tired!''. Jiji jokes.
''Everyone rest up, another day lies ahead of us, two days till the invasion''. Tick says.
''Goodnight''. Everyone says as they head to their rooms.
Togata settles into bed, Jiji no where to be seen as per usual.
''What are you floating around for?''. Togata ask suspiciously.
''Eh ehm, Tick says pointing to his head.
Togata laughs. ''Yeah, I thought so, I think it's better that you stay out for now, just in case anything happens''.
''Yes, I believe so''. Tick sighs.
''Don't worry, things will go back to normal eventually I promise. Goodnight Tick''. Togata says.
''Goodnight young master, sleep well''. Tick says.
Togata rests as he drifts off to sleep.
